posted a message on Should gold be important for D3
Why having any gold at all if it doesn't have any purpose? Why even giving gold to NPCs to repair your gear when you could just pay in pgems/sojs/high runes lol.

I don't necessarily see gold as the new currency in D3 but you should just at least be able to get something from a big pot of gold (somewhat like pgems). Also if gold is going to be important it will have to do a lot more than allowing you to buy pots and do other petty stuff.

A better Gamble system, NPCs that enchant/socket your gear are only a few examples of how gold could easily become more important in D3.

I don't understand why they brought the barb back first...of the original D2 classes, he's definitely the lamest.

That's exactly why they brought him back. Well he wasn't the lamest in my opinion but he definitely has huge potential for improvements.

Also no more paladins class, let someone else have the fun. I don't know what they're going to do with auras but it is a fact that most auras in D2 sucked which was just a huge waste gameplaywise.

posted a message on Mobs actively hunting you + Stalking bosses
I love this idea, I think it would be part of a logical step for D3 to take. Right now they already most enemies ambushing you which is really cool, but this would add even more to it.

Still I think it should only be reserved to a couple of enemies and made more like a random event, like let's say you have a quest where you have to hunt down some important demon and he's always randomly summoning demon next to you, now that really sound epic. Also that way it shouldn't be too hard on the specs.

I think the average player has better stuff to do than lighting up torches, it could work for a special dungeon though.

posted a message on Bill Roper Shares Diablo III Thoughts
I agree with Roper, people on the forums are complaining just because well that's what a lot of people on the forums do, and they chose the art direction because it's a cheesy topic to discuss.

Blizzard North did a kickass job, but all they did was merely introducing the franchise. Truly Diablo III is going to be greater than I and II put together

posted a message on My 2 Cents Regarding Most Issues
    I: Health Globes:

Drinking 10 potions in a row while fighting demons is silly, I'm just happy they didn't make any animation for this in D1 and D2 (imagine drinking and attacking with both hands at the same time lol). The Health globes won't make the game too easy if they are balanced. They only encourage you into killing more monsters even if you're wounded instead of going back to town to buy more pots. My only problem with them is the lore behind them, but then again we probably just ought to wait a little more.

    II: Music:

If I didn't know Matt Uelmen wasn't the composer I would have never guessed it. Except for that track in the gameplay trailer all the others recreates the atmosphere from the previous games in a somewhat new way (particularly New Tristram and Tristram Cathedral).

    III: The With Doctor/Necromancer Issue:

I'm okay with the whole thing, personally I would prefer it if Necros were NPCs and a class like the Reaper replaced the Necro. As for the Barb, he is a totally different now with all sort of new skills, so beside the name and the lore he isn't really a returning class.

    IV: Items:

I'm not touching this until I see more of the game though so far it just looks like a logical step forward.

    V: Graphics/Art Direction/Light Radius...etc:

Look I was one of those guys that before the game was announced were affraid the game would look too cartoony and after watching the gameplay trailer many times I can simply that I LOVE it. It's not perfect but if there's going to be a Diablo game in 3d I think it's how it should look like. Really Tristram Cathedral is just as dark as it is awesome.

The photoshopped pictures don't change the feeling of the game at all. They're just well modified pictures and nothing more. They are no example as for what the game should look like though I don't mean by this they shouldn't put more darkness in the game (as long as it still looks good that is).

Finally as for the light radius, I'll wait to see a more compact dungeon (with narrow corridors like we're used to) before gauging this.

Yeah but you need to actually kill monsters to get health globes, so if there's no monster then no health globes, oh and potions are still in game so it still an option.

Besides I think there could be easily a lot of improvement for pvp, specific place to fight like arenas, options like activating/deactivating items, etc.

But people who dont believe just because they cant see it are even more boring and have no creativity if they cant imagine. Atheism is boring to me, even if i didn't believe in a particular god i still wouldn't say one doesn't exist because it's a bit arrogant for any human and its just boring to think that this is it, i think many of those that do believe do so because something inside them wants there to be more and want that thought that things could actually be pretty epic, those people are creative :P

It's all a matter of making the difference between dreams and reality. You see there's the world outside your brain and the world inside. There's what you see with your eyes and what you see with your mind.

There are situations and circumstances where you want to believe in what you see like when you deal with your everyday problems, and there are times where you have to understand who you are and create what you believe in to give yourself a purpose and motivations.

My problem with people who believe in God is that they didn't create anything they're just repeating what the generation before them did. They believe in God because that's the only thing they've ever heard of.

Beliefs shouldn't be something stagnant, but something constantly evolving and that's what religions try to kill.

I love science because it's the only sincere religion, there's no good or wrong answer it all depends on the frame of reference.

The only way to make sense in this world is to live without rules

I know Inarius was imprisoned and all that, but who says that an Angel can't regrow their wings? How can an Angel, made of sound and light, have skin? I still think that we will see Inarius in some way, shape or form in D3. I actually think we will have an appearance by most Angels, Imperius, Inarius, Auriel, Malthael, Tyrael, Itherael, and possibly even Izual.

Yeah, that text about Inarius being imprisoned is old. Blizzard has refined the lore surrounding angels since then, they're not just humans with bird like wings like we usually see.

About Ureh, it's been a long time since I read Kingdom of Shadows but from what I can remember Zayl and Dumon destroyed the two stones allowing it to stay in the mortal realm and killed the king who was possessed by Diablo. So what's going to bring it back then and what does it have to do with that fiery angel. Come to think about it, maybe Diablo still has some ties in Ureh and this is where his essence will gather allowing him to reincarnate himself.

    I'm guillty of no 1/4/7 and 2

I'm not really an atheist, I just don't believe in things that don't exist it's all a matter of perspective and interpretation.

People who blindly believe in God are too often just repeating the exact same speculations in the exact same way the guys before them did. They are plain boring and uncreative.

posted a message on Ureh Confirmed - New Artwork Update
You know what? I think all these artworks has something to do with Ureh.

In Kingdom of Shadows King Juris Khan received the visit of an Angel (forgot the name) in his dream which was actually Diablo in disguise. Has the fiery angel anything to do with this?

The Angel on the artwork looks quite demonic, could it be Inarius (Tyrael's Brother). People often theorized that Tyrael got corrupted, but if there is going to be one corrupted angel I think Inarius would fill that role more easily as he's been imprisonned in Hell for over 3000 years.

Lastly, as for the four-legged beast, I think it could actually be that demon that attacked Captain Dumon and his men at the beginning of the book. Maybe he will be an actual monster we fight inside the city.

Good find, I've already set Ureh as my new Wallpaper =)

    Quote from "Roland" »
It's obviously Imperius, didn't you notice that he has a helm and armor, just like the angel in the comet artwork, also notice the thing he's on, looks like an upturned sword, which is Imperius' emblem. The same that appeared on his chest after his armor seemed to be stripped away. Try going in photoshop and flipping the image upright, it seems to be an ornamental sword/dagger thing.

It's definitely the same Angel but I'm not sure it's Imperius, the symbol on his chest looks more like a cross than a sword. His wings have something hellish about them, maybe he's actually Inarius (Tyrael's brother and creator of Sanctuary).

As for the altar I think it has something to do with Ureh, if I remember correctly in Kingdom of Shadows there was something about a stone located at the summit of the mountain and another deep inside the mountain which actually enabled Ureh to stay in the mortal realm or something. This is somewhat reminiscent of this artwork.

Also I think this monster might be the one who attacked Captain Dumon and his crew at the beginning of Kingdom of Shadows (my memory is fuzzy though)

EDIT: Look at this screenshot, the Barb has wounds all across his body :o

I've just watched the video, ROFL LMAO... it's funny because it's true :D

I think that all the commotion going on about the graphics can easily be explained by Newton's Third Law of Motion:

Whenever a particle A exerts a force on another particle B, B simultaneously exerts a force on A with the same magnitude in the opposite direction. The strong form of the law further postulates that these two forces act along the same line. This law is often simplified into the sentence "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction."

Diablo III is just too awesome, you need a couple of whiners to balance the whole thing.
