i can definetely say that he doesntt work for Blizzard, he just had a prediction about what will happen at next Blizzcon
No one makes such a precise prediction including 3 EXACT things - "one of the BlizzCon things is a mobile Diablo game made by Blizzard’s 3rd party team in China". No one. Trust me, I have a poker/statistics background - this is NOT a guess/prediction 99,99999% of the time. This is a leak for sure.
I trust you, random internet stranger with a conveniently questionable background.
You guys do realize they told us twice, not once but twice that there would not be anything big for diablo this year at blizzcon. Go ahead and siv through the diablofans post. One heads up was January /February of this year. The next was 6 months later.
Sorry but its you guys pulling hype out of your butts out of no where. As well as a youtuber that pulls hype from job postings every year.
So quit your bitching and wait for Wolcen to come out.
I believe it will be a new MMO, as one of the job postings was listed as someone needing mmo experience.
Diablo as a moden Hellgate: London could be pretty awesome.
Hellgate London was originally made because Blizzard North didn't want to make a mmo for Diablo because WoW was still fresh, and when Blizzard North disbanded, one of the owners create Flagship studios and created Hellgate London...at least that is what I remember.
He took a lot of the ideas they all pitched for an MMO and created his own lol so Blizzard has always wanted to make Diablo into an MMO they just never felt it was the right time, they also never expected WoW to get as big as it did and for as long as it has been...shit is still going strong...like wtf.
Ah, was not aware of the history of that at all - that's pretty awesome, thanks!
Poe is better here, Poe is better there,...Yet u are on a Diablo forum.
...because you can't possibly play another game and check in on the forums of another one, that was be completely absurd!
To answer your question, OP: No, it's been a long time since Diablo 3 has had any sort of update that isn't simply changes to existing items or set bonuses. The changes overall are minor and while they've still given more options for people to play without feeling like one set is completely blowing the others out of the water, it's a relatively minor change and not doing anything to break up the monotony of what the game is, nor introducing anything new conceptually to the game.
The last time that something was added to the game that could be considered a new feature and not simply a quality of life change was in patch 2.6.0 on 06/27/2017 with the Necromaner and Challenge Rfits, or perhaps 2.3.0 - on 08/25/2015, almost three years ago. That feature was Kanai's Cube. Since then, they have added new zones and quality of life changes - but again, they've done nothing to expand or alter the end-game, add to it or add something larger to do. New zones don't really mean anything if there is no reason to go to them beyond 'complete this bounty objective'. Let's look at the patches from a general overview standpoint
2.6.1 - 10/24/2017 - Class Set Revisions, Skill Changes, Item Revisions
2.6.0 - 06/27/2017 - Necromancer Class, Challenge Rifts, New Zones and New Bounties
2.5.0 - 03/21/2017 - Armory Feature, Crafting Mat Storage
2.4.3 - 01/04/2017 - Anniversary Event
2.4.2 - 08/02/2016 - Nothing of note - new torment levels (11-13) and minor item revisions
2.4.1 - 04/26/2016 - Nothing of note - minor item revisions and class skill balancing
2.4.0 - 01/12/2016 - New Zone, Set Dungeons, Empowered Rifts, Revised Buff Bar
Like many of you, I also loved Diablo - and I still check in on this site about once a month because it reports well in the event that something is released... but nowadays the news on the front page is: Challenge Rift, Cosplay, community art or a discussion of something that blizzard has released as a whole that isn't specifically Diablo. Nothing is wrong with that and I am not claiming that it is, however my hope that Diablo 3 is magically going to become something new and interesting/engaging has passed.
I play around with PoE fairly regularly now and I would definitely recommend it to those that have been on the fence about trying it - they steadily release new content every 3-4 months. My love of Diablo and the ARPG genre is what brought me to that game to begin with. I've also played here and there with Wolcen and some of the 'free to play' (pay to win) ARPG's (MU Legends, for example) but there isn't anything unique feeling about the free ones.
Opposed to Bleu42, I do think I would actually be really excited if they announced a Diablo 4 - I welcome any more ARPG's to the fold, as I feel like there is a monopoly on them right now. However, I would be deeply concerned if Blizzard didn't take anything away from the D3 experience and try to build a serious development roadmap for that game.
You would be better off addressing this on the official forums, as this is a fan site and while Blizzard has visibility of it - I imagine it is less in comparison.
It would have taken you all of three minutes to look up a calculator, versus telling me I'm wrong and looking foolish in the process.
Edit: As smetson surmised, I am speaking about your sum of xp. The paragon experience of 600 levels plus the paragon experience of 298 levels gives you an additional 14 levels beyond your 600 paragon xp, based on the xp requirement per paragon level.
It's kind of an obvious reply, but why should the people who still find any sort of enjoyment out of the game, even though it does not mirror your level of enthusiasm, go without?
My question to you: Are you still playing the game? If so, maybe it's time to stop. I ask because just looking at your armory, you only have 298 paragon levels combined across your account - add in the 600 you earned on console in your signature and that would you at just under 700 paragon levels. That's average. From the way you explain it, you sound like a hardened vet with multiple thousands of paragon levels who is just burnt out. Maybe this just isn't the game for you, and that's fine - but don't try to ruin the experience for others.
Give marvel heroes a try it is free and incredible and it is changing the arpg genre as we know it.
The issue is that it's not. I genuinely enjoy the game, but find that I have to stop playing it about as often as I stop playing Diablo for the same reasons. I will give credit to Marvel Heroes on two major aspects: Hero Diversity and the Hero Power Synergy System. That being said, there is still so much that the game lacks, or is still improving on that Diablo has already done. I'm not sure about all of you, but I feel like most ARPG's should be taking note from one another regarding quality of life changes.
One of my major gripes in Marvel Heroes is the crafting system - it is complete garbage. Yes they are fixing it, but they are only not getting around to addressing it as an issue. As it stands you have 7 (or 8?) tiers of four unique crafting materials, all of which you end up needing to use. You can break down the highest tier to gain lower tiers, and combine lower tiers to gain higher. The crafting system itself is not intuitive, you need to place everything in the crafting window versus the game realizing that you have the required materials in your stash or inventory.
The end-game is pretty limited. Recently they came out with the danger room, which I suppose can be best equated to Maps from Path of Exile, but the issue is that the tuning is drastically over or undertuned - there is absolutely no middle ground. Aside from that you have a few raids to choose from and no real end game beyond that. Omega leveling (a far more advanced paragon system) still feels very limited.
The game has definitely come a long way, and it feels like it is making strides every time I pick it back up - but it is a long shot away from 'changing the arpg genre' in any way.
If you feel that the game is dead, then why on earth are you on a diablo message board posting as such. You have added nothing to the conversation - and are just being a downer. If you do not enjoy this game any more - then why try to ruin it for other people that do still enjoy playing.
Some people aren't happy with simply being miserable, so they need to attempt to make people as miserable as they are.
3) After over 20 years of playing computer games I've noticed (well, not just recently but a long time ago) that my favorite games were never the ones with superior graphics, but those that kept me engaged in terms of mechanics, depth, story, atmosphere, gameplay. For example, Fallout (1+2) is probably my all-time favorite game - although it looked like "shit" from day 1 and got bad ratings because its graphics were not superior. For me, the atmosphere of this game is unmatched. Same applies to D2 that some people still play today. If graphics are your only "selling point", your game is obsolete and forgotten in one year due to the rapid technological development.
TL;DR: No, thanks.
Could not agree with this point more. A track record of visually beautiful but mechanically awful games that have come out of Korea has proven that really what beats all is gameplay/story when it comes down to it.

Yes. Paragon xp rises dramatically after the 550ish mark: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-general-forums/diablo-iii-general-discussion/130338-paragon-10000
