posted a message on My "Top 10" Things that would make D3 better
    Quote from CherubDown

    10. Elite/Champion mobs can no longer roll more than 1 CC affix.
    9. Remove Reflect affix entirely.
    8. Allow NV stacks to persist after quitting the game.
    7. Remove all stat caps!
    6. Make purple (unique) mobs worthwhile.
    5. Make chests matter.
    4. Make bosses much more difficult and more RANDOM.
    3. Give us perks for playing with others!
    2. Make Drop Rates more predictable.
    1. Auto-generated worlds need to be FAR more randomly generated

10 - no. I like it as it is, feels more challenging.
9 - yep, it's an assle but I'd wait for some fixes/balancing before removing it
8 - as stated above, it would be fine if it persisted for a couple of minutes, no more.
7 - mmm...tricky one, I'd like more freedom or to be able to allocate stat points but some limit is needed to balance things.
6 - Totally agree, they should be at least a notch above elites, both in terms of challenge and loot.
    5 - agree
4 - yes, like adding one or two random affixes to the usual skills. (balance could prove tricky)
3 - ehrm...please don't give them ideas, they will make them in silly ideas, I like SP and don't want to be forced to play social.
2 - this is a whole topic which should be discussed elsewhere, I like randomness yet I feel the current system is not a good choice.
1 - need to e far far far far far more randommly generated

posted a message on The PVP Blog Is Here
I'm not a PvP player but I feel sorry for the guys who like it.

This just add to the feeling that the original game, the one planned for Dec 2011, had some horrible flaw they noticed too late and so they scratched it and scrapped togheter something that would resemble a game for 2012 release.

I't not even believable that after so long (4 years?) they realized that PvP deatmatch "has no depth" and "lack balance".
I knew balance would be (and will be) really difficult, and I'm not exactly the brightest mind on this swirling rock.

oh well, PvE improved and it's fun to play, let's hope they prove me wrong on PvP too.

posted a message on Rate your satisfaction level with the current Diablo 3.
"It is not a bad game and I am satisfied with it so far"

I'm a Diablo player since D1 came out.
I enjoy the game, I play almost nothing else, all my 10 characters are lvl 60, 8 out of 10 are in Inferno, 2 will be soon.
Have to say I enjoy all 5 classes (even if monks could be better, imo) which was not the case in D2.
It's worth the money but....it's still lacking...it feels a bit "empty".

But in the past few months the game has improved and I hope the trend will continue.

What worries me is that this game has some serious flaw which is going to be hard to fix due to the structure of the game itself.

PvP could help boost interest of bored players but balancing it will be tricky...I expect huge complaints and lot of patches.
Still PvP lovers waited so long they deserve a bit of extra attention from Blizzard.

posted a message on Diablo 3 dev team question
mmm...I too would have expected at least some "miniquest" introduction but we have to concede they did a lot of work in these past few months.
Lot of bugs to be fixed, Paragon levels, skill changes, game balancing, performance issues on many different hardware setups and so on.

The problem is: something about this game went terribly wrong in the final stage before the 2011 planned release, they had to postpone the launch to half 2012, scrap PvP, tear away runestones and an artisan, scrap togheter something that would seem a game, start beta to keep people happy and drag it longer than expected while polishing all they could polish and then release it.

Now they are working on PvP, which, as posted above, is going to be tricky.

After the PvP patch release (and maybe some PvP balancing ones) they may be able to work on content, but I would not be surprised if they will focus on the expansion, which could drag the whole D3 caravan back on track AND bring some money into Blizz pockets.

Considering all written above I think the devs are not doing so bad now, but what happened before is a sorry mess.

I still like the game and have fun playing it, hope the future is brighter.

posted a message on Why do you play D3?
    I play because it's fun.
I have 10 characters, male and female for each classes, I like to experiment with builds, gears and strategies.

...mmm...it's good to know they plan an expansion but there are some things which need to be fixed in the current iteration of the game.
I like this game and spend 99% of my gaming time on it, yet I'm fully aware there are problems, both in terms of game mechanics and performances (stutter, my archenemy! :boom: ).

    Quote from rafaelcla

    D3 is a bugged game

    Basically, that's the answer.
Blizz told us a while ago that they know there are issues with some HW config and that they had run an internal test and plan to fix this in a future patch (soontm.....).
You can try to delete the folder "Bnet" (better to cut it and move it on another folder) and restart the game to create a new one (sometimes this works) or you can try to reinstall DirectX.
Also since 1.05 reset some of your preferences check that everything is as you want it to be.
And check your video card config for D3, they sometimes got messed up for unknown reason (also check your drivers are up to date and you may consider uninstalling the driver and make a "clean" installation afterwards.)
Hope it helps and wish you luck.

posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 is LIVE!
I'm waiting for patch release here in EU (undergoing).
Reading once again the release notes I'm curious to check how my characters will fare.
Guess I'll try and fine tune my skill selection as I adjust to the changes.

    Spirit barrage.....?

I used to like turret the way it is, I'll give it a try once the patch comes live (I'm not in PTR right now)

Good news about pets, summons, etc behaviour.

Also Haunt gets a nice boost.

We will end up needing an "audio effects wiki" to learn them all!
    But it's good news, too.

    Thanks for sharing, overneathe!

posted a message on Wyatt Cheng and Jay Wilson on 1.0.5, Blizzard Comic Contest Winner, Curse Weekly Roundup
What about after 1.0.5, though? Will we just see continual streams of small patches changing game systems? According to Wilson the team is "focused on making PVP really great, something appropriate for Diablo III," but they don't want to get so caught up in doing smaller improvement patches that they can't do things like, "say, not working on expansion content or the next bigger goals."

mmm...let' see if they learned from their previous mistakes, shut their mugs up, keep their heads down and give us something good.
I'm not a fan of the "share all with the community 4 year in advance, raise the expectations, scratch the game few months before expected release, scrap togheter something that resemble a game, patch it later till you have a good game" approach.

Have to say in my opinion they did a good job with patches and the game is actually fun to play.

    Thnks Molster!
