Dammit, i STILL haven't seen the Lachdanan, even with all the times i've played through the original Diablo, the game ALWAYS just decides to give me the warlord of blood. I even beat it again a few weeks ago as a rogue. I just want to see that quest!

Hehe it's the opposite for me. I always got Lachdanan until my last game, in which I got the Warlord quest for the very first time.

I love Act I. With everything about the Sisters and Andariel and the Countess and Blood Raven and the Corrupted Rogues. Love it all.

Me too, the first act is amazing! I like almost every quest in it. It has the best music and reminds me of the original Diablo. I always remember walking to the edges of the Tristram in Diablo, and wishing I could explore the woods beyond those walls. The first act of Diablo II let me do that. :)

My favourite quest from the whole game is definitely The Evil Countess. Made all the more interesting by the fact that its based on a real story.

I also love the latter parts of act III - the Kurast Bazaar and killing the Council etc.

The whole game is absolutely AMAZING.

Of all the quests in Diablo, I think I like the Lazarus one thw most, followed closely by Lachdanan. The last time I played through Diablo, I got the Warlord of Blood quest for the very first time ever, and now I really like that quest as well.

But considering that it is Blizzard developing it and considering the amount of money they have, they will probably go for the newest age graphics they can find.

They haven't done that in the past...

Depending on the type of Succubus you're fighting, there are different attacks I'd recommend. The fire type ones are pretty susceptible to chain lightning. If they're the lightning immune ones, the Guardian spell works surprisingly well. But you need enough mana to fire of a bunch of them cause their aim isn't entirely good. And so I've noticed that with most monsters that far down, they're either immune to fire or lightning. Try either spell on them and see if it has an effect. Sometimes it's a grueling process. I may manage to kill like two of them, then I'll need to retreat to a safe place and save my game before I go back in for another pass.

I have mainly Soul Burners (yellow projectile), but lots of Hell Spawn (red projectile) as well. There are only three Azure Drakes, but they are enough to prevent me from preparing most spells - they strike me while I'm casting.

I can't really see whether any spells are working. The Drakes were the only ones who seemed to be injured when I managed to cast a few Guardians. I only have two lightning spells: level 7 Charged Bolt, and level 3 Lightning. I don't think either have much - if any - effect, but then my death cry usually drowns out whatever pain sounds the demons make.

They are all gathered on level 15, around the stairway that leads up to level 14. That stairway is my only means of access to level 15, so I can't come up behind them. I literally have two seconds to live when I step out of those stairs - maybe ten if I'm lucky, but that means I'm running, not casting.

Is there anything I can look for that is particularly resistant to these Succubi? I just need to survive long enough to find out if my spells are actually doing anything to them.

EDIT: I guess I could use Phasing to get away from this cluster, but I'd likely end up in a worse situation.

    Here are my offensive spells:

    Firebolt 6
    Charged Bolt 7
    Holy Bolt 3
    Lightning 3
    Flash 2
    Fireball 2
    Flame Wave 1
    Guardian 2

I managed to use Phasing to transport me through a wall to the other side of the map. The enemies were less clustered there.

I used Siaynoq's advice - lightning for the Soul burners, and fire for the Hell Spawn. I was able to pick them off a few at a time as they dispersed from their original cluster. The Soul burners were a bit tricky because my lightning spell is weak, but it only took one Fire Ball per Hell Spawn.

Off to bust Lazarus now. :)

    Thanks for your help!

...and it's no minor problem like a missing Demon brain!

I have reached the level before Diablo (second-to-last level of Hell), and I've hit a solid wall of Soul Burners (winged women who fire those energy stars). I don't even have time to drink a single potion before I'm dead! I have finished Diablo many times in the past, but every time I used the Rogue or Warrior. This time I'm using the Sorcerer.

The thing is, these Soul Burners seem immune to all my attacks. I can roll out an entire mana orbs worth of Fire Wave and they don't falter. And they have a buch of Acid Vipers who rush in ahaed of them, and seen equally indifferent to the waves of lightning and fire I unleash. I cast entire armies of Guardians to no avail.

On the last level of hell, I could pick off the Vipers (and knights) by running away untill they were spread out, turning them to stone and then bashing them with my pitiful melee attack. But now the numbers are simply too great, and since the Soul Burners have a ranged attack, spreading them out would not work anyway.

What tactics should I use with this Sorcerer? I don't want to restart the game when I'm only two levels from killing Diablo.

Yup, it has to be for real since there were no horned charging demons on level 9 this time.

    I found it. :)

It was hidden on level 9, behind a wall. The walls in the cave levels do not go transparent, so I had to find it by 'scanning' the area with the pointer. Thanks for your help anakyn, otherwise I probably would have wasted hours searching level 10 first. :)

Now I can continue my journey through Hell.

I have lost the demon brain! :(

... You know the one - it's part of the mushroom quest that involves Pepin and Adria.

I talked to Adria, found the mushroom, but I must have killed the demon and missed it's brain. I can't even remember which of the lava levels the drain should have appeared in. I have just finished the first level of Hell, so I'm certain the brain has been left somewhere in the previous levels. With all my past characters, the brain always appeared while I was in one of the four lava levels.

Can someone please tell me which of the lava levels - one, two, three or four - usually contains the brain, and which type of demon it drops from? I always thought it came from one of the Toad Demon/Overlord or those horned demons that charge at you, however I have not seen any of them in the lava levels.

    Please help. :)
