The fact that this contest was held and there are so many unique builds submitted means blizzard is doing a good job of at least making it look balanced.
I guess it will come down to game play a few months after release to see if people are following a cookie cutter build or if the build diversity continues. Its really a good measurement of skill and class balance. if the skills are well balanced enough then there can be a wide range of viable and playable builds all equally as fun and good to play.
I cant wait to try some of the builds myself.

The main concept of this is that the barb can constantly gain life, then he will be extremely hard to kill. every skill selected grants either % life gain, or dodge.
Since this build does sacrifice damage, it is more of a Tank build over a DPS build (but I personally think thats the entire point of the barb anyway).
It would be best suited for hardcore mode, as it can start life gains at a very low level and has a higher survive-ability. Or for someone who just prefers to take things slower and not die.
(i wouldn't suggest this for PVP as the defensive skills are a bit weak for that, but PVE is easy with this)

i havent been this excited about diablo since the day blizz acquired diablo3.com from the team here. i remember logging in and seeing the announcement from Mockery and Medeivaldragon.

BTW, i was unemployed then so i had some free time to kill.
since then the highest i have gotten to is 80-something.
i dont bot, it kills the game for me. so getting there took the entire season, start to finish. that was a couple years ago i think.
