So, what does not feeding into power creep mean? No more set buffs? Potentially no more new sets... period? changing out a skill because of a belt or cubed weap means very very little as far as build variations are concerned. New sets would have at least given us more... variance, but... the wording of the blue post just makes me assume the worst.

I've been down on the d3 devs since the first round of announcements and honestly, my pride means very little to me. I'd much rather see an expansive round of core gameplay changes and look like a fool for putting down the game's blizzcon showing than be left with what we're currently getting. Dammit blizzard... I hope you guys know how bad your d3 team looks.

you are supposed to empower 60 and below, then the highest you can reach. If you're farming 85s and empowering every run, you will run out of gold very quickly lol.

I wonder who on the team came up with this brilliant idea. Obviously not the person writing community responses or they would've realized this is SOLELY power creep for power creep's sake and nothing else which is directly what whoever wrote that community response said the team was trying to avoid. I guess "we" in that case meant "everyone, but the chode that gets to decide what's in the game".

General consensus is that the devs wanted us to use a different pair of shoulders since pickup radius is OP, but that's all assumption as the devs have been quiet. Others think it's because they're changing the item to give it an affix.

I don't even understand what's going on LOL. I was actually asking why the dude initially responded to me. Since I was responding to someone else and his response didn't make sense as I think he misunderstood my first statement. What I had meant by "there is no damned if they do, damned if they don't situation here" is that D3's devs aren't doing shit. period.
Ironic that I'm in a damned if I do, damned if I don't situation here, isn't it? There's this older generation of diablo players that thinks they're fucking smart, but there is no intellect in age. If you're a dope, you either learn not to be a dope or stay a dope. Not my business what you do.

I'm a big gnat tho ;_;

I'm not sure why you're quoting or replying to me. I wasn't talking to you or excusing blizzard's shit ass equipment design nerfs/buffs on a whim that make no sense.

there is no "damned if they do, damned if they do not" situation here.

i don't know how anyone can expect anything from this game after the 4 1/2 years it's been out.

"Be Happy We Got Something" they should just rename every thread to that. That statement just takes care of everything. Mad, sad, upset, etc. that we get some piddly updates that don't mean anything for the game's general design flaws? Be Happy We Got Something.

So from the poll alone it looks like 3/4ths of the playerbase on dfans is discontented with blizzcon showing. I wonder if blizzard has done something like this for their own enlightenment. Obviously they'll know not everyone can be satisfied, but 75% of a playerbase (small sample on this site, I know)? That would be unacceptable to me as a major company.
Like "Oh shit, we better announce everything we've got planned for the longevity of this game ASAP" kind of unacceptable.

I want to give the full anonymous viewer base on dfans a chance to way in, dispel or confirm a vocal minority as it were. I'm not by any means saying the meager dfans community is the end all be all, but I want to see what you think.
And I understand that there are more days to blizzcon, but the gameplay updates aren't looking too intensive.

Path of Exile is a very safe bet. No where near death or staleness and a dev base that is heavily involved in the community. Grim Dawn and Titan Quest are solid titles too, of course, but for the long grind, PoE is the end all be all for now.

I feel like 4 years is just... too much time for the biggest game company to meander around with a beloved franchise like they are. Trading was in the game, but removed and I don't think it'll ever return.

i'm not spoiled, i'm just sad. Sad that the game franchise I love is being treated like shit. Epic announcements? Sure if you don't care about the actual problems the game has.
I hope there are changes to the real problems the game faces, but I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't addressed at all this blizzcon or take another half a year to roll out. I won't be playing either way until those changes come to light, if they ever do. And I'm not alone.

I don't think blizzard understands what their fans want. Necro has been wanted since launch and they've never cared. Two new zones (wowee), a psuedo-remake for a nostalgia trip and to make us realize how bad outdated mechanics are, and some payed class content don't fix what's wrong with the game (terrible, shoehorned builds based on gear we get for free doing some menial tasks at the beginning of the season, content that can be steamrolled until you get to the psuedo-difficulty in grifts, and a lingering and undeniable staleness for the better part of a year).
I feel bad for the people that have been sticking around for these announcements too. That's all you're getting for the next couple years.
