Proletaria, I think the only thing I really need to say here is: There is no "simple" and no "complex". Those things do not exist.
The most difficult part about explaining this is breaking the language barrier. It is inadequate and not able to handle these topics. Why? Language is bound by the concept of time and space.
Edit:
@Diehard- We just said the same thing again lol.

CAN YOU AT LEAST TRY TO NOT BE SO OBVIOUS?!?!?!?

Look, all this talk about not believing in God and all that jibber jabber has convinced me that, as a God, I should supply the heathens and non-believers with some proof. Sue me! -

Xop110 posted a message on Prove to me that your God exists. The thing that all people are misunderstanding here is that most religious folk don't believe anything...they Know their God exists, they Know they are going to heaven or something when they die, and they Know it is the right way of thinking...if you try to prove them wrong, they will tell you all of the things they Know whether you want to hear it or not.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
Trying to make a religious person prove to you that their God exists is just silly and stupid.
Here is a list of what is going to happen.
1. You ask a person to prove to you God exists.
2. They tell you what they Know.
3. You don't believe it.
4. You call them stupid.
5. They go home and pray for you.
6. Nobody feels different the next day. -

hopefully someone will continue to push the envelope.

I just pushed the envelope.
Back to all Seriousness, Jobs revolutionized the phone, music player, and computer. He made technological advances surpass some of the greatest expectations. We need more people like him to revolutionize the automotive industry, medical industry, and green technologies among other things. -

Lootasisew posted a message on Sleep paralysis and Lucid dreaming. So first off I would like to thank you for making this topic, as I have been F5ing diablo fans forever but never made a forum user because nothing ever caught my interest.Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
So this caught my eye because I recently have been experiencing "Hauntings" in my very old apartment. I am not religious, do not believe in the afterlife, and tend to be very logical. So this has recently disturbed me and greatly upset my life balance, because I have no experienced these things that felt VERY VERY real and terrifying.
Also, what caught my eye is that you said this occurs mainly to sleepers who sleep on their backs. I find this incredibly accurate. I almost NEVER sleep on my back. But every time this has occurred I was sleeping on my back.
So, on to my experience with what I believe is exactly what you are describing - my body is asleep (including most brain function) however my concious is awake and active. I have recently began to see lights on my ceiling... Green lights during the night. I thought at first this was my router, speakers, or plethora of other electronic equipment. Being a logical man I am, I turned this off, or covered them. Problem was, these lights persisted to be visible. I would wake up in the night to almost a laser light show on my ceiling. Often it was in the form of a clock, which always made me think this was a reflection from my microwave... Until I woke up one morning from a nightmare (on my back!) to see the crazy lights almost displaying a 12:47. I turned to my microwave thinking it was this to see 0. Hrmm. Well that's odd and I can't explain this. The clock on my phone says 5:42. No my phone's clock doesn't look anything like that one...
Looking more closely there was a towel hung in my corner... wait no, a coat. Did I hang a coat on the wall - oh no - I'm too sleepy, I surely did not do any of these things. Wait, that's a torso, NO A PERSON! What in the hell is a person doing in the corner of my apartment!? I jump up to turn on my light and see nothing. It's 6am and now I am terrified. So I literally say out loud "Fuck this!" and jump out of bed, get dressed in a hurry, and drive to work 3 hours early to the bewilderment of my coworkers.
Same lights (different patterns) but I see them all the time now when I wake in the night (on my back.) The torso/ghost/person/towel(?) thing only shows after I wake from a nightmare, which adds to my terror as you may have guessed.
Anywho, this gives me a logical explanation which greatly eases my mind. I am not ready to accept that my entire life belief system of science is ready to be thrown out the window, but it was getting to a dangerously close level.
This may be slightly off topic, as I am very much awake when I see these things (I'm jumping in my car not 3-5 minutes after these experiences and driving around till dawn...) Maybe this is a lingering hallucination from my dream state? -

Jamoose posted a message on Sleep paralysis and Lucid dreaming.I have the privilege to call myself an experienced dreamer xDPosted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo)
I dream litteraly every night. I can also explain dreams very easily, its like a 6th sense i guess.
It runs through the family, my grandmother used to dream about the future and so does my dad.
About the train sound you experience... Has it ever occured to you that it might be a bit of air coming out of your ears? Like when a person yawns, you get this "vwoosh" sound in your ears sometimes. Do you feel that the sound comes from an external source?
Traveling to other dimensions in dreams is a possibility because your mind is working in the infinity range when you dream. Many times, our dreams are the reflection of our fears and worries from our daily life, coming to us at night so we can experience them and prepare for the next day. I think that the scanner that you saw might be a projection of some of your thoughts. Have you ever thought about having invisble company while you are in bed?
Keep practicing those phenomena and attempt to identify each and every symptom. Try to "locate" the part of your brain which works whenever you feel anything that you might consider as special.
Just like you said that the best way to have a lucid dream is simply to say it before you go to sleep... So the best way of recieving an answer is actually asking yourself, without fear and without restricting yourself to express the outcome.
The dream state is a place where a connection to internal and external sources is "easier". Sources of inteligence and information. Your inner self is a source. It can be reached to and interacted with. All of the answers you seek lie within.
Good luck.
Ps. if you get any more detailed experiencs, ill be happy to try an analyze it for you. This goes out to all of the members of this forum too. -

Daemaro posted a message on Portrait of Diablo for the yet to be created logo.Looking at it now, I'm not sure it needs horns imo. I know a lot of people are going to disagree but I think the horns usually make it look out of place and bulky. The D3 Diablo, imo, shouldn't just be seen with his disembodied head floating. I think it looks crappy just his head, I think the D3 Diablo very much works as a whole body and less as a head.Posted in: Backstage Archives (2013- Feb 2019)
I think just the face though works well. I really like it. -

I don't see this place as overly optimistic at all. What you might mistake for optimism is usually, just reiteration of the news, using similar phrases and diction that correlates with the official news, released by Blizzard.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Diablofans articles are not biased. Our writers are just humans after all. And most of said humans, are fans. So, of course there is going to be some excitement and optimism. We here at Diablofans are really excited for this game and hope you are too. So when you come here, we want the atmosphere to be welcoming and exciting. After all, these truly are exciting times for fans of this awesomesauce franchise.
If you want the most up to date news on Diablo 3 to the very minute, this is the place you should be. Criticize how we do things versus how someone else does them all you want. The fact still remains that if you want to know whats up with the very latest of Diablo 3, come here, because we deliver.

To me, a competitive gamer is a person who cannot play a game unless it involves competing with others. I know a guy like this. This person literally doesn't enjoy ANY game, unless it is "winning" at something with a defined score and opponent to defeat. The term win does not include beating a game. I'm talking about the guy who only plays games with a singular goal of winning.
Opinion: These people completely miss the point of video games in the first place. They garner some misplaced e-peen pride from winning in-game, while completely failing or avoiding their lives. They crave this sense of self worth via a video game. If there is no such goal, the game is useless to them.
Because of this, they do not actually enjoy the game. They take no time to appreciate the game itself. They take pleasure in one thing and one thing only. Winning.
These people are not gamers by my personal standards. They're just people with unfulfilled dreams that they make up for, via winning in video games.
From personal experience: They are rude, with no sense of sportsmanship(aka don't say gg when they lose and boast and gloat and antagonize when they win), and very trolly.
However, I'm not saying that everyone who wants PVP is among this crowd. But they are certainly a part of the driving force behind it.
Edit: Also, there is NOTHING wrong with competing via video games. I'm not saying that. I certainly have my own fair share of e-peen when it comes to some games like Halo and Wc3(sc2? ehh not so much). And we all know that competing is incredibly fun. It's the driving force behind online gaming which is so crucial to our ever evolving community of gamers. However, if competing is your only enjoyment..well..you read the thread.
