No not because they are OP
No not because I don't have good characters of my own.
PURELY I can't stand them in game because those bloody horses dominate my screen with ugly green crap!
Can they not get the same treatment that other 'pets' got and be hidden or marginalized from my view?

Jaetch posted a message on Wizard Trials: Obtaining GR38-40+ KeysHaven't really found any reliable resources on this, so I decided to make a post about wizard Trials.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I get that with all the talk about "L2P" and how it isn't that difficult to clear GR38+ with average Firebird gear, one of the biggest obstacles some players face is obtaining those GR38+ keys, especially players who run virtually 100% wizard in all their play time.
So for the solo players who cannot employ the services of a team or use a geared M6 DH to solo the trials, here's probably one of the better options:
Demo:
Spec:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#PliNSO!YWXR!YZccbY
Core gear:
- Smoldering Core
- Five Firebird pieces (helm, shoulders, gloves, pants, boots)
- Ring of Royal Grandeur
- Cindercoat
Recommended gear include a fire/CHC/CHD/socket amulet either as part of the Endless Walk set (Traveler's Pledge, Compass Rose) or a Hellfire Amulet. If not the Endless Walk set, then another high DPS ring, such as a CHC or CHD fire SOJ.
You want as high fire DPS as possible. No need to worry about elite damage in a Trial Rift.
Optional items include Reaper's Wraps for AP management. It really helps toward the higher waves when enemies don't die after a few Meteor Shower casts.
Notes:
The spec is pretty gear intensive. I tried with lesser gear before and the keys obtained were in the mid-30s, like 36/37 pretty consistently. Somewhat more optimized gear and extra Paragon points can push a little further. In a batch of 10 Trials, I obtained one GR40 key, four GR39 keys, four GR38 keys, and one GR37 key.
RNG obviously plays a factor. If you get Golgors, Exorcists and Armaddons late (e.g. wave 40+), it gets really difficult because of their natural high HP. Also, it's not possible to perma-lock enemies at higher levels simply because of AP issues. As soon as you miss a Meteor cast, mobile enemies like Exorcists, Phasebeasts, Winged Assassins and Lacuni Huntresses will scatter in every direction.
I would advise watching the video because it's easier to show than explain how the Trials go. It's a little L2P, but it's pretty straightforward.
Early waves (<30) can be completed with just Mammoth Hydra and scattered casts of Meteor Shower. A periodic Spellsteal helps. Cast Blizzard wisely because it's AP-intensive.
Mid waves (30-35) will require the mix of Spellsteal and Blizzard to hold enemies in place and buff subsequent spells. I usually prep with Spellsteal before Blizzard a split second before the wave starts to hold enemies in place.
Late waves (36-40+) will require all of the above with much more aggressive casts of Meteor Shower, repositioning of Hydra, character repositioning, as well as the utilization of health globes if Reaper's Wraps are included.
If anyone out there has similar gear and obtained low to mid GR40 keys, let me know if there are any changes you recommend. -

MeatHeadMikhail posted a message on PTR 2.1.2 - Greater Rift Changes Explained (Video)Today I want to give you guys my feedback - as well as showcase - the changes coming to Greater Rifts in 2.1.2. In this video I discuss density, map layouts, the 'revive at corpse' timer, consistent pylons and what's changed about them, and why Conduit will still be responsible for the top spots unless Rift Guardians have some sort of damage resistance to them. Enjoy!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

I completely agree and that's what I did. I sent an explanation of the rule along with the recommendation to post the build along with the video to OP. As you can see, he seemed to have ignored my PM entirely.
I fail to see the problem, to be honest. Again, this rule was not something we came up with ourselves but was a request by the community. It's not really difficult for OP to simply include the build in his post - that's all we're asking. If that's too much to ask for, I don't know what to do about it.
Also completely agree on the fact that this thread is completely ridiculous and sometimes moderation should not be done publicly; but we are only replying to inquiries of people who don't seem to understand the reasoning behind our rules. While keeping the moderation private might be a good idea sometimes, I also like to keep it transparent and let people know why we're doing what we're doing. Your comment that moderation sometimes seems "harsh" seems to me that it's not public enough yet (note that there's always the chance to PM us moderators if you have concern/feedback about moderation or make a thread in the suggestions and feedback forums).
@OP: Please, simply make a new thread and post your build along with the video again. The one sentence you added is a teaser, but does not offer any actual information that allows for people who have not seen the video to engage in a discussion.
@Everyone: If you have feedback regarding moderation, please let us know - we're more than happy to listen to your input.

FinalFencer posted a message on PTR: Show us your Ancient Items!I'd like to see them add a 30% value increase to legendary affixes too. I'm not sure if that would break the game though. Going off of St. Archew's, getting up to 32% of your max life as a shield sounds really fun as a shield.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

mdcwdzies posted a message on PTR: Show us your Ancient Items!Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI agree with this statement. If you want to make it more impactful, increasing the base armor roll by 30% has a huge benefit of passively raising our toughness. An extra 165 armor on one piece (just drawing from St. Archew's Gage posted above with 553 armor) isn't a lot, but if all your armor ends up getting replaced with Ancient that's an extra 1155 armor assuming all pieces roll roughly 550 base armor on them.

FinalFencer posted a message on PTR: Show us your Ancient Items! So do ancient legendaries only get a 30% increase to their core stats (Str, Dex, Int, Vit?) I've been waiting to see items with 12% CHC and 130% crit damage.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Pe3eWe3e posted a message on Blizzard changing trials mid seasons. There is much to complain about. It is unfair to compete against someone that has lvl 55 legendary gems. It is impossible for anyone to get lvl 55 gem anymore. I don't care how they got it but we cant stop them from playing solo from now on.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
They have to reset lvl of legendary gems to 0 for everyone. That would be fair for competition. -

Fitsu posted a message on Blizzard changing trials mid seasons.I'm surprised about how much hate this guy is getting... He makes a valid point, they've released a patch which makes it vastly harder to achieve a higher ranking, regardless of if you bother to compete or even play seasons some people are and even in the last couple of days people having been obtaining rank 1 spots so changes like this are just bad for the idea of competition.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

It wouldn't be an issue if it was a little harder. But as soon as all stockpiled high level greater rift keys are used up, the top spots on the leaderboard are not likely to change. Making changes mid season creates an uneven playing field, its as simple as that, I'm not trying to be dramatic.Quote from Bleu42Oh ffs you people are so dramatic

Well if you go into necro solo and look at those with asian clan tags that cleared 110+ with skeletons for extra CDR and obsidian ring. I am willing to put money on you can ban those. The build is unplayable without D3helper or worse... and the 117 clear guy that was no1 had for weeks had so shitty gear/para that it would have been a joke for top200. (think he is no3 EU season now, but you can notice for yourself by inspecting, also notice lack of played hours)
I do know that some players burn 1000 keys to get solo top 20, but this guy burned some yens on his bot subscription..
I do think Blizz need to start new banwaves, ASAP.
If nothing else let them all buy new accounts, Blizz wins, and the honest players wins...and who cares about the botters and their emotions, apparently they dont play the game at all, but pay some software to do most the playing. Never understood the concept.
Necro relies heavy on CDR timing, both zdps and trag and pesti, so scripting and perfect casting of multiple spell does warrant results that are unachievable for even best humans. After all we do live in an age where AI beat both best chess players and also humans in poker, so do think its more than "likely". Proof is more or less on the bots forums, not going to link those and promote anything, but they are bragging a lot.

Well I hope you are right Demonmonger and "your facts" in pointing somewhere new and shiny, playing D1, D2 and sucking it up with D3 through all the fixes and Eras, just taught me to believe that it's actually not going anywhere quick. I wish they would charge us more for more content, I am sure we are many D3 players active or not, that actually would enjoy paying for regular new content. Not sure how the Blizz business model works, not sure if they know anymore either.

Yeah dream on nothing will come except some halfhearted january dungeon and eventually the necro and armor rack late 2017, which is fine.. but not really what the game needed.
Blizz and a few of the dedicated D3 players could have taken this game somwhere, but Blizz is a big machine and I guess pets, transmog and the occasional useless legendary gem is what the game has come to. Sure necro looks cool, but the armory is really stuff anyone with 1000 hours D3 woudl have implemented years ago for free.
I do enjoy the game, but Blizzard is fuck all passionate about it..we used to get weekend buffs and events.. now they dont even care to change anything for new seasons except a new portrait or pet. Stop dreaming its not a conspiracy to make something grand new and shiny, its just a big corporation, killing its game slowly while selling as many D3 copies on post like this.
