Hey there.
I'm currently solo playing on Softcore Non-seasonal on Eu. Solo playing gets boring after a while and public rifting is just terrible.
I'm trying to find 3 people whom will stick together till Season 4; planning a group of Barbarian(me), Monk, Demon Hunter and a random class. Though we can switch up classes if people agree. It will be a 44-47 team anyway. Also can push for high rifts if we feel like.
This is -not- for paragon levelling. Have working gear and don't be a new beginner.
1- Why do you even want fire? Locust swarm will have a cold rune and that will be enough up to a point on greater rifts. Making everything hybrid is just boring and simple. Also Resentful Spirits is the only option for Jade.
2- Grasping Spirit is kinda lame, yeah
2- Locust Swarm - Cloud of Insects doesn't increase Jade Harvest damage. It just increases the length of dot time and it's useless with passive, yeah.
3- It's Locust, not Lotus.
1- Never tried it, T5 should be no problem with solo and some good other gear. (Like Strongarm bonus + a good Sun Keeper etc) But T6 would not be efficient at all. Quetz doubles your damage.
You need at least %30 CDR. At least that's for me, I will try %45+ on greater rifts. CDR is required to break faces in T6 with serious speed.
2- Tasker is so hard to find. As same as you have other good gear, it may be tolerated. (Like a really good Magefist etc) But you will need it eventually.
You will probably get like 30-35 Quetz before you can get a single Tasker and Theo from Kadala. My suggestion, keep going with Jade and stash all useful pet items.
Reroll AR on shoulders to % life. You also lose life from gloves and chest and helm. But RNG is RNG.
And to be tanky, the only solution I found was with Zunimassa's Pox and Uhkapian Serpent. But sacrificing SoJ is kinda bad. It will be up to you.
Dust Devils: Tornadoes now deal 120% weapon damage (up from80%).
It would be a shame if they fixed something important. And not even gonna say that they don't read DiabloFans. They don't ever read the offical forums.
How "mandatory" is +cold dmg for Jade doctors? I have 5 pieces and am thinking of farming for a RoRG. But I have no +cold dmg gear (except the crafted lego axe) and am not sure I want to farm for the new items/enchant mats. I know the DoT skills are cold-based, but...
Haunt (%4000 over 12sec) hits way more than Locust Swarm (%1040 over 8sec) and it's a cold spell. No point on stacking Locust Swarm or poison/fire damage. Without bonuses, especially bonus cold damage, Jade Harvester would be a pain to play. If you can't get all cold damage, poison helps too of course for damage output, but I don't think it's even necessary.
For Jade:
Belt: Hwoj Wrap for survival, Harrington/Witching Hour for damage
Offhand: Uhkapian serves incredible survival.
Your elemental damage should always aim for cold damage as it's the main damage resource of Jade.
A strong weapon means a slow & strong 1H weapon and it's Sunkeeper.
For Pet:
As people mentioned, you definitely want a Mask of Jeram.
And as a pet doctor, I need more survival than Jade even my pets tank for me from time to time. With the right gear, fetishes hurt anyway, so I kinda gave up on SoJ and put on a Zuni's Pox in order to equip an Uhkapian Serpent. I like to survive better even if it's softcore.
From my experience, I find the damage of physical fetishes better than fire gargantuan % fire fetishes damage. So, physical all the way for me.
I have both sets and played with both of them quite a while. I personally use Jade Harvester at the moment.
It may sound ridiculous but even without pets to take damage for me, I still survive better than Fetish build. Because Haunt and Locust Swarm with Hwoj Wrap literally cripples enemies. And if you get your hands on 2 unity, I can easily say that you will become immortal.
After using the dots, I one shot champion elites and take the rare elites to %20ish with a single Harvest on Torment 6 even my gear still requires upgrades. The rifts became surprisingly fast after I switched to Jade.
Visage of Giyua says that it spawns a 'Fetish Army' but didn't even try it because of Mask of Jeram. And Fetish Sycophants (& probably Gidbinn) don't count as 'Fetish Army' as far as I know.
