posted a message on Rune words and charms

Hey guys, i just had a though about if diablo 3 had rune words and charms it would bring so much more diversity to the game. Imagine d3 with a 1-6 (socket) white weapon or chest and can make a rune word item with a specific bonus added to a skill [i know these comes from set items but imagine if you can get one more bonus passive from rune words, so much more creative specs can be made]. You can get another farm group for farming bosses to get runes (a legendary item). There would be something else to do besides farming gr's all day. Think about how creative the d3 dev team could come up with interesting rune lines and additions you can get, and maybe instead of one or two specs topping greater rifts, the game could have many! Charms are kind of self explanitory, you wont have bag space but can have increased damage/vit/main-stat/etc. on top of what you have(man i remember those days where people just full inventoried hex's and destroyed everything haha). With charms, you can farm anything and if you get something good, you can swap to your teammates or hang on to them for their alts. This would add another element from its predecesor and make d3 feel almost like d2 (imo). One of the most funnest things about diablo 2 (for me) was being able to farm cow level, and bosses in acts to get the rune stone or a random charm that would give you stats. I know this is just a thought but man wouldnt it be cool with more options?! I know its a lot to ask for but with the way d3 is right now, every player will hit the brick wall that wont let them climb over because grinding for paragon points is hard work! The game has a lot of ways to be different but towards end-game the only things to do are fish for rifts and speed gr's. Yes gearing for end game with leveling gems and augmenting your gear to get stronger is fun but once you hit end game items, theres a small margin for one to get an upgrade and will get boring after a long grind session. I know this will probably not make the drawing boards but cant a boy dream!

If you are trying to aim for GR, try to get cdr on weapons, rings, shoulders, etc. otherwise, its better to go Ias or area damage.

posted a message on Underwhelming sets for 2.2

So with the addition of 2.2, monks are getting a lot of changes. The Raiment set is getting a steroid buff;dashing strike with all buffs/gear up to 1.5-3bil damage, Innas 6piece bonus; very underwhelming as Wave of Light is the only thing plausible to keep up with other set, and Suwuko set which still has not been reveled yet. With testing the PTR for quite some time, mixing and meshing set bonus and items around, Raiment set will probably be the only viable set for season 3. I have a gg Torch and can barely make time on GR48-50 compared to the raiment set where you clear GR48-50 in less than 5 minutes and have 10 minutes to solo the boss. Innas set can't even keep up with the billions of damage Raiment provides (even with suwukos) and the regular torch build, with inner sanctuary on 2.2. Mystic ally (with the crudest boots, plus pet gem, mystic ally % damage) gets no damage amplification and is hard to manage their skill spam as they cast it in front of them. I have tried torinz gaze with the innas set and your initial Wave of Light is cast as your allys cast it in front of them. I have also tried it with 4 piece suwuko's + 6pc innas and the allys doesn't get ANY damage buffer from your skills/gems/damage, none-the-less see their damage from their wave of light. Torch + innas looked good theorying it but the way it performs was complete crap, Suwuko's set does 5x more damage compared to 2 mystic allys who cast WoL, which is 3x the damage. Gundo gear as well lived only for a shot while, approximately 2 months, and will be a pointless item besides using it for farming. I know that the PTR is still early and are still tweaking it, but from the looks of it, I don't think that blizz will even take a look at buffing older sets. Personally I think they want players to play the new sets for seasons, and only the new sets will be viable competitively. I understand that they want us Monk players to feel what they envisioned for how a monk should be played, but the new set is pretty wack, still the same as I complained pre 2.1, eye gouging, arm tiring spec. Yes it feels great to hit 1.5-3b damage, im not against more damage, but the way they are adding new items is the set they want a player to use for that specific season. ie: season 4, new items come out, thats what is gonna make the leaderboards. Yes I know and like changes but to have one set be viable for seasons really throws me off. I wish the monk community can understand where I am coming from and agree on other sets need damage buffers so they are cohesive with other items. I really wish more than one spec can make top 10 in season leaderboards, its quite boring to look at someone who completed the highest rift and everyone copies and that makes the meta for the season, quite boring imho. Hopefully they fix some bugs and issues and bring fruition to versatility for players competing in seasons so not one spec can cheese the hell out of higher GRs. Thanks for reading my rant/opinion but please understand fellow monks, we don't want to cheese, its not healthy for the state of monks.

TL:DR- Raiment set will be doing 1.5-3b damage fully geared, inna's set is garbage and has no relevance in higher GR's, 4pc Sunwukos/torch/4pc innas will be #2, buff damage multipliers for inna's 6pc set, and prepare to see a lot of raiment cheese during season 3, where it will be the only spec to view on top of the leaderboards.

Sorry I have been quiet during these months as I have taken a break from d3 till 2.1 release. The rinse and repeat on Live doesn't want me to play d3 at the state it is in. The changes on Dashing strike cooldown has gave me some hope but still does not feel like I am playing a Diablo game. As I have stated above that the ping pong motion is very disappointing as a mechanic for a monk spec. I still await for a Raiment 6pc bonus to change into something that gives monks an umph! The PTR updates seems promising and I do enjoy my tank and spank spec but the raiment 6pc bonus should be be a different effect. Dashing strike back and forth does not promote good/healthy state of monk gameplay. I still think that the ping pong spec is very tiresome. While other classes are getting drastic changes to their kit, Monks are still behind and I don't think changing only the cooldown on Dashing Strike will help solve this issue. I guess we will await till 2.1 is on Live servers and could change my perspective once the spec is in full use with the new trinkets and accessories/items to follow. ~Monk forever

I think if you can incorporate frostburns and a rihmheart, this spec would be godlike. Of course with cdr, 50%crit, etc. Just from thinking in my head, when you leap, you'll "freeze" targets and since your earthquake does cold damage, has a chance to proc rimhheart? and blow everything up. Or and I just pre-hyping myself and rihmheart only procs off autos..?

I would prefer something other than dashing strike to proc the bonus. I think they are going with the theme/philosophy that lighting is fast, so 6pc will proc fast/high damage. Still doesn't change the fact it strains the hell out of your body, and when you have to work your body to play a video game, that is when I say no. This isn't Wii Fit for gods sake. A game is meant to have fun, and in a ARPG game, you should be able to tank and spank when your near end game items. Everyone likes to be op but if the risk is yourself, then what is gaming? I personally think they should reconsider the set bonus, as being reliant on one skill is pretty gimmicky. Left-Right-Left-Right pretty much all your doing and if anyone thinks this is fun, please voice out an opinion and a good reason how this can be "fun". I understand people have their own views on fun but repeating the same song over and over again will get stale.. gets pretty damn boring pretty fast. Yes all classes rinse and repeat a lot but they can continue playing because the spec is fun to play, but moving your mouse over and over again left and right can burden your well being.

Trust me I've been playing since d2 and d3vanilla.. dont get me wrong, I farm t6 in a group like cake but when playing solo with the lightning set, just requires too much to use. and understand that with/out jawbreaker still doesn't change a thing, you have a 6 second cd and elite affix will kick you ass. I play to be consistent, and when i refer to tank and spank, I mean it as literally faceroll like the WD class, and maybe even a leap barb. I am just stating that I am not here to play diablo to work.. new monk requires more awareness/movement. Not quite sure if you played your monk enough l0l... I have over 450 hours and when i say work, it means work, I only play monk and no other class. As I've stated above, till they change skills to be cohesive with the 6piece bonus, I will not be playing this cheese-work-spec.. trust me once you farm t6 in around 5-7min you wont go back (in a group). All I am saying is once YOU play the new set bonus enough it will get repetitive and tiring and will prob swap classes or go back to what is op. Dashing strike should not be the main skill of a monk, it's a skill that should help you move faster/get out of sticky situations. This maybe only me but scrapz, the highest elemental damage monk feels the same way.

As anyone likes to see huge numbers, the new 6pc bonus is indeed a setback... Yes dashing back and forth with jawbreaker, you can have good upkeep, but keeping track of 30-35 yards is doing too much and also you gotta move your cursor back and forth constantly which makes my arm tired, none-the-less my eyes can't take a break for a second giving me a mini seizure. When playing any other class, they can walk up to targets and tank and spank everything in their paths, while new monks have to work their !@# off to calculate the distance between dashing strike, finding mobs to dash back and forth to, and elite affixes. And if the elite's have the god affix, your pretty much screwed running back and forth trying to proc dashing strike. Furthermore, regardless of how many charges you have, you need to use dashing strike to escape during sticky situations, and if your out of charges, there is another 6 second wait. Maybe if Dashing strike cooldown can be lowered by cdr or even jawbreaker being 20-25 yards I may reconsider this build, but till then I will stick with my zdps/support monk because it is way more consistent and more powerful than this annoying, arm tiring, eye gouging spec. You can argue one does more damage but when it comes down to it, I play diablo to tank and spank and faceroll, not to work my $%^ off.. and till further notice for patch 2.1, I will not be playing with this cheesy-work-spec till; 1: change jawbreaker range, 2: change charge cooldown, 3: change 6 piece bonus to summon all mystic allys. Thanks for reading my rant. ~Monk forever

get as much one resist as possible, End game you want each piece with the chosen "one resist". and of course elemental dmg%, Dex, Crit, Crit dmg, attack speed %, and raw damage. Dex and elemental % are needed and need to be stacked to the fullest for most potent damage output, and with higher dex and "one resist" comes greater toughness. and you want to get yourself a stone of jordan [which i have not gotten since I reached lvl 70... ive gotten 2 shards and 2 Thunderfuries but no soj]. Once you have the elemental gear, you should be doing t4 like cake. once you get SoJ, that should bump you up to t5. for t6.. you need BiS gear with resist and such and you should be golden. hope that helps mang

posted a message on Mythic Rhythm + Sweeping Wind clarification
I have been searching on the forums and Google about Mythic Rhythm and Sweeping Wind (cyclone perf). I do understand that MR does snapshot Sweeping Wind but the answers are very vague and are not specific on how they are worded. I just wanted to know If I understood what I read.. So I attack x3, proc Mythic Rhythm, then use SW-cyclone, wait 5 seconds [SW only lasts 6 seconds], and use Sweeping wind-cyclone again (to refresh the old Sweeping wind [with MR buff]; to keep SW-cyclone from going away), does the newly applied Sweeping wind-cyclone have the MR buff increase from the previous buffed SW-cyclone? or do I need to attack x3 again and cast Sweeping wind-cyclone to keep Mythic Rhythm buff. This may seem quite confusing if not worded right and I am sure many people have the same or similar questions regarding this topic. I just wanted to get down to brass tax and get this annoying question out the way so I can stop worrying about stupid **** when I play the game and focus on having fun instead of chasing numbers. Thanks
