posted a message on Will Diablo be in Diablo3?
Ok, so I know it has been a topic of other discussions, in other threads, but it was before BlizzCon 2009, so I wanted to come back on the subject again.

During Diablo3 Q&A saturday afternoon, someone asked the Diablo3 team a pretty interesting question :
How the hell is Diablo still alive?
Because, you know, I thought we killed him quite a few times, and destroyed his soulstone...

To this thoughtful question, a Blizzard representative answered, this most 'Blizzardful' answer :
We have not yet announced that Diablo would be present in this game.
That's it. Nothing else, next question.

    So... My question is:
What do you think they mean, and how could Diablo not be in a Diablo game? Isn't it like Mario not being in a Mario game?

posted a message on BlizzCon stream linkage
    Heya!

This post is mostly for the mods/admins.

I paid for the live BlizzCon stream and will watch it in high quality. But I know that a lot of people want to watch it and dont want(or can't) pay 40$ for it. My question is: I found some free streams who say that they'll be streaming BlizzCon2009 live. I can't tell if they'll really be working when BlizzCon starts, as for now they aren't started yet.

I want to know: If I see that some of them are working, is it against the Terms of Use of the forums to post a link, since these stream aren't really legal?
If I post them, will I(or will you) be in trouble?

    Thanks!

posted a message on The New Background Lag
I know it's a bit off topic, but I'm glad to see there are more people using Chrome now! I started using when they "released" the beta, and people were like: WTF, use Firefox, not this beta BS, but then more and more people started to use it. ^_^

You asked for more good points about it, but someone already answered you.
    Overall :

    • Faster
    • Simple
    • Modern(I mean, the first version is recent, so it's natively optimized for today's browsing, especially web applications like forums, online shops, etc. Not only an old one updated 232405times...)
    • More room for content(the frame of the application is actually smaller than any other popular browser, without neglecting any feature)
    • I LOVE the "Most visited websites" that you have on the starting page when you open it. Since I often go to the same sites days after days, it saves me a lot of time.
    • Takes less ressources from your computer
    • Updates automatically instead of taking hours through Windows Live Update(I'm only speaking about Internet Explorer here, FireFox update system is nice too)
    • Googlish
    • The address bar is awesome, while you're typing it does a search in your visited websites, and on google, and suggests you some addresses completion depending on what you visit the most often. I mean, I type "D" + Enter, and I'm on Diablofans.com, I type "bl" + enter and I'm on Blizzblues.com, "fa" + enter and I'm on facebook, etc...
So, most people really dont care about some points here, but I really like it actually. A big part of my RL job concerns browsing, and when they released this browser, I automatically adopted it, and I'm not going back to another browser for anything.
(Except Battlefield Heroes, since they didn't take the time making the game client compatible with Chrome, only Firefox and IE, but it really isn't that bad:D)

posted a message on The New Background Lag
Yeah the background is great, and I don't have any lag, what browser are you using, and what version, deathmars?

I tried with Mozilla Firefox 3.5, Google Chrome 4.0, and Internet Explorer 8.0, and there's only on IE that it seems a bit heavier when I scroll down, but it's running well and without a bit of lag in both Chrome and Firefox.

I usually use Mozilla FireFox or Google Chrome as browsers, and I didn't notice anything, but I just tried with Internet Explorer, and it seems to be heavy to scroll down, and notice some kind of lag, yes... But it's going really well on the 2 others.

I don't know which browser you're using, but if I was you I'd try if it does the same on the another one.

And I agree about the white background around the Quick reply, it hurts! haha

posted a message on Really Impressed
You are absolutely right, the community here is really great, compared to the other fan sites I registered to. Overall the Diablo fans seems more mature and civilized(or less troll-ish) than some other games. I wont name any site, but WoW fan sites, especially the most popular ones, simply hurt our eyes.

Anyway, welcome on DiabloFans, an enjoy the flood of infos we'll have tomorrow, at BlizzCon! ^_^

posted a message on Diablofans Redesign Launching Tomorrow! Plus, Live Chats During BlizzCon!
Really great the new design, seriously. It looks more 'clean' and also I'm glad the forum toolbar is still there, looking at the screenshot I wasn't sure it would make the new design, and I often use the 'Quick Links' menu ^_^

The only "cons" I'd say, is that the width of the content frame doesn't adjust anymore with the screen resolution, that's a point that I really loved from the old design, but it really isn't important, just a personal opinion.

Good job, keep it going!

Just so you know, we WILL be holding live chats once again this year for ALL of the Diablo-related panels at BlizzCon. It was a huge success last year and everybody had fun getting the live up-to-the-minute updates, so we had to do it again. Make sure you're here on Diablofans at the appropriate times so you can join in the chatroom discussion with us!

Yeah, I went back on the post to see if I missed something, but he only said to come on Diablofans at the appropriate time, so I was almost worried :P

They should be hosted on the main page like they have been the last couple of years during Blizzcon.

Good to know it's the same as last year. It's the first year that I actually care about Diablo for Blizzcon, so I haven't seen it last year. ^_^
