yeah, I believe its the right way to go, I just think Blizz is giving away too many info all of a sudden... the news in question here, Diablo 2 link on the WWI website, significant dates... all too strange... and yet I love this tension.... lol

Hype it up before May1, Hype it up even more before WWI with something REALLY cryptic, like a picture hidden in a pattern. Also i've noticed something really really strange about the official WWI site. Notice how there's no picture of Diablo on the banner? There's characters from Warcraft and Starcraft yet not a single hint of a Diablo character. But look closer, look how the WWI Logo is fits onto the banner, can you just not imagine a Diablo face hiding behind that logo? It would make sense since Diablo would be the BIG announcement of the convention (alongside the competitions and what not).

I found it really odd, cause no mention of Diablo on the banner but on the side menu it had Diablo 2. Misdirection once again?

I noticed that too topaque... well lets hope for the best eh?
Anyway what concerns me most is the WTF reaction from MD and Umaro.... I get quite uneasy with the idea of a shocking news and I imagine what it could be about....

But I'd like to ask MD or Umaro... which of you got the news first? And can you mention the source?

lol now thats a nice question to ask... and a very SUBTLE one too...

Anyway, I think the poster is not so relevant because I actually remember Diablo was also on the one from last year... But I recall no inclusion of a Diablo II link on the website...

I agree Ausen... although sometimes his behavior really gets into me.... I came to believe this hype came out of proportion a few times now, bu the way he says "come back on the 1st" is way too defiant for something which people consider less relevant... lol maybe they're working for blizard now? lol

hm suddenly a thought comes into my mind.... what if on the 1st we get a website? or maybe a date corresponding to the actual announcement?
ps. that would mean a date before WWI

lol I agree, just put that down to remember people what to expect, otherwise things would get even more out of proportion...

I don't think anyone here expects a full power "ZOMFG they're announcing D3 and we got ALL the info!! ZOMGZOMG"

And although I hope its something on the lines "we have proof they're working on D3, here's ONE piece of programming or ONE screenshot" I am ready to accept an interview or at least some concrete proof they're announcing it soon (like a pic of some WWI artwork for example). This would mean Blizz is not really bothering about it because:
    - They know we're expecting some Diablo news for this WWI
    - Diablo3.com is not giving away any vital info on the project

these rumors about the next mmo being a Diablo game are out there for a while now, but seriously, I played WoW and I don't agee with the idea... first, they're still going to release WotLK which means at least another year of WoW as their primary funds source. Then you can put about 4-5 major patches which will include some expected areas in the lore such as the Emerald Dream, etc.. so even by 2011, WoW will most certainly be their main and single MMO, how could they announce a Diablo MMO then? And lets be honest, Diablo doesn't have enough lore to make a decent MMO, so my bet is: Diablo 3 will be a prequel to the other 2 games or it will be an immediate sequel with LOTS of lore to give us... If there's an MMO in the works, i believe it will only be ready some good years from now... after WoW has it storyline completed.

Well after about 5 years with the site I finally decided to join. Damn, I think the past year made me more vulnerable after the announcment of SC2... couldn't resist this hype...

Hm, I don't know for sure what will happen on may 1st. But the question I havn't seen in this topic so far actually is what's keeping me awoken at night: never in the past years I saw Umaro or (for the past year almost) Medievaldragon holding any type of news to themselves and setting up a date for all to know, building such expectation from the users... so I'd say that either there's a finger of Blizzard in this plot or Umaro has gone crazy with all these years waiting for some news... well I personally hope for the first occasion...

Anyway I'm intrigued with the timing of such events... and I wonder who got the news first: Medieval, after so many emails to Blizzard finally got something but decided to omit it from his thread (I think this may well be what happened.. remember the Diablo II patch thread?); or Umaro?

Anyway if its something this great really happening, I congratz them for the achievement, and especially Umaro who actually has done a godlike job with this site for the past 7 or so years.
