May 12, 2008Angel_of_Wrath posted a message on Blizzcon 2008 AnnouncedToo many similar pieces are coming together now, it just feels like its actually on the verge of happening, not like when it was in Korea. Diablo is big in Europe and Americas, so WWI and Blizzcon are there.. A WWI announcement in June and everyone salivating for that CGI teaser at Blizzcon. D3 releases June 29 2009. Its perfect!Posted in: News

May 1, 2008Angel_of_Wrath posted a message on Diablo3.com becomes Diablofans.com! Blizzard acquires diablo3.com.Love the new dark design! Well done. The announcement was expected and made sense, but good job on generating fresh excitement for Diablo.Posted in: News
This is good news. Blizzard are such masters at 'unofficial' hype where everyone knows that something is in development, but there's a small chance it isn't cause there's no 'official' announcement. It drives people crazy, especially the instant gratification generation. Does anyone remember Blizzard unofficially hyping something (like obtaining starcraft2.com) and not having something on the go? Starcraft fans were freaking out over that move. I think the long term fans understand how all these pieces are coming together and how this is a sign of something.
There are so many hints out now that WWI is just the perfect place to really announce it:
- blizzard job postings for the 'Diablo' team
- the team 3 working on unannounced project
- Knaak not writing for a dead series
- diablo 3 was already in development years ago
- the diablo release anniversaries
- blizzard buying all the diablo3 domains
This gives great hopes for WWI which will be the real excitement. Magic 8 ball says 'all signs point to yes'. But, if there is no announcement then, I think I'll have to take a break for a while! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

On May 1st, Umaro and Medieval will announce that they are attending WWI to cover a special announcement by Blizzard.

The thing that gets me is that there's the new book, this countdown, diabloii.net was revamped and opened a diablo3 subforum, wwi is soon, the starcraft and diablo were released pretty close together before, diablo was already partially developed before, blizz has a secret project... i mean come on! There's too much going on for it to be just the book.
They know it would be a massive success, just based on the name.

I may have to not visit this site again for 12 days.
(Edit: SPOILER?)
From MedievalDragon's news post on the book:
"The Church of the Triune was destroyed and Lilith was defeated by Uldyssian in book two: The Scales of the Serpent. Lilith was thought dead, but it was Inarius who shielded Lilith to appear dead. Inarius had a more evil fate for Lilith than mere death. Inarius casted her into the void to live alone, so terribly alone ... in darkness and hollowness."
"Uldyssian discovered his legacy and Lilith's deception backfired ending in her apparent demise and the destruction of the Church of the Triune. The Triune taught humans about the spirits of Mefis, Dialon and Bala (standing for Mephisto, Diablo and Baal). Its leader was the Primus ... no other than Mephisto's son Lucion. "
