Lol I've been playing on /players 8 as well, making sure to rerun a lot of stuff. I've also been ransacking the side-areas as well, to make sure I get whatever I can. I've just beaten Blood Raven, and then got the Stoney waypoint, and I'm level 15. I have only used 4 or 5 skill points so far, and saving up - because I can't respec. So I'm totally underpowered for my level.

My amazon will be covered in blood, and will enjoy it thoroughly. :) She's just gunna be all-out offense, and have leech life to keep her alive. She may not last long, but I'll sure as hell try to have fun with her until she dies. :D

And sorry for taking the top spot? I can move if you want, it was just easier for me to put it in at the top, rather than the bottom.

As for the guy with the Beta, I don't care - like you said its a fun tourney. Unless of course the Beta has any varying crafts, then that may be a bit different, ne?

Right, we're not allowed to respec our skills, are we? I mean, using that "X" option at the top of the skill tree screen?

Personally, I don't like making my builds based off others'. I mean, I'll take a good look at the different crafting recipies, and defintely look into and pre-plan out my skillstat distribution of my amazon ahead of time. And if despite all that, I notice she doesn't work out as well as hoped, I'll retire her and start anew. =)

edit: So, I looked most stuff up, and I think I'll give it a shot with the amazon. This will certainly be fun. I hope you DotA players get the name reference =D

Actually, I think I may change what I'll play as, since so many are playing Pallys. I think I'll try the crafting tourney with an amazon.

I have another question. I went to the database site and checked up the crafting thngs. So are we only allowed to make the items listed under the "Old Craft" and "New Craft" sections? If so, then isn't that a little underpowered - even for nightmare level? Also, what does "1-4 random affixes" mean? Does it mean that you'll get an extra 1-4 different mods added onto that craft?

lol Im getting behind. I'll be starting sometime next week I guess.

Since I am yet to get past act II in Eastern Sun with a paladin, I guess I'll enter this tourney with a paladin. His name... Scared_Flip. I hope paladins work well with crafts, I have NEVER crafted before (in ES or LoD or the original).

I think I'll join up, but I got Uni taking up a lot of time, and a lot of other games.

And so an issue: It is physically impossible to get the Secret Cow Level Waypoint, isn't it?

posted a message on What Diablo III Could Take From Left 4 Dead (And Possibly Other Games)
Okay, I recently just started to play the new Left 4 Dead game during this Christmas break, and well, I love it. And it got me thinking one night, "I wonder if any of these game elements could be implemented into Diablo III to make it funner and a little trickier?"

Well, then it struck me! Why not, of course? I mean after all in the fourth campaign, known as "Hard Rain", you get cursed by the elements where a huge storm comes in while on your way back to the boats. The storm does three things:

    1. Completely cuts off any ability to hear anything accurately in the game. This is big in Left 4 Dead because microphone chat with your teammates is usually important, and not to mention the need to hear when and where the special infected are. Taking away the hearing aspect had made it more difficult to work together in a cohesive group.

    2. It reduces vision by a bit. It also changes the colour scheme, of course, by making everything much darker, even when outside during the day/evening. The heavy winds and rain makes so much go on in your screen so it makes it hard to tell where things are (although with just the wind conditions - this does not hinder that aura glow your teammates give off when being attacked).

    3. As a consequence of these first 2 difficulties made by the storm, your heart race increases and you naturally begin to panic a little, not being sure what to do, and even being a little hesitant, which (in this game) can make quite a difference in Versus matches.

So, y'all are saying "So what about this can make Diablo III better than what it already is?". Well, take into the things I've just listed for you. Imagine running around, even in the isometric view (which in my opinion better stay this way through the whole Diablo series), and not being able to hear anything around you (although I am not convinced that any audio aspect of diablo really matters in gameplay, like it does in L4D) and having troubles even seeing whats going on.

Lets take, for example, the boss battle against Seigebreaker in that trailor - imagine how much more difficult it would be if the environment included those strong winds and heavy rains - making it more difficult to navigate where you are. Maybe you'll accidentally get corner, or walk straight into the Seigebreaker's strongest attack?

Another thing that would be an interesting addition to the Diablo universe is a more natural environment-player interaction. Again, lets use Left 4 Dead 2 as a reference, this time using campaign 3, "Swamp Fever". Imagine having to walk through mud, or some other type of ground that may hinder your movement ability, attack speed, ability to defend or block? It would be frustrating, wouldn't it? But it'd make it more interesting and possibly even leave more room for specialization in the form of customizing your character.

So, I'll leave it up to the rest of you fans if you think these kinds of aspects would be good or bad in the Diablo games. Personally, I'd love to see them implemented in, as well as the need for volume and sound (for what reason - I'll leave it up Blizzard, and if sound doesn't matter I'll simply turn the game music off and listen to music).

I wish that Blizzard created a time machine and went back in time and released absolutely NO information ever since the premiere announcement so we wouldn't know much aside thats its being released, with a barb and WD as well as Trsitrim being included. Also, I wish they won't release anymore information until the game is released. Maximum surprise and "OMGWTF" is best for this game, imo. I'll likely quit playing it a lot earlier if I didn't know everything I know right know.

Hahhaha nice, Stormy! It took me a second to clue in to what it meant though, haha.

Oh and I have a question for everyone: FOr the Assassin's level 60 set (Ihsan's), it says on the database that the armor for that set is "Shinobi Armor". However, there is no such thing as "Shinobi Armor", only "Shinobi Cloaks" -> which is the assassin-specefic armor in the elite form. So it would make sense that this amror is what they were meaning. But if that is the case, should I not have gambled it by now? As I have easily spent over 5 million on it, which costs 40-50k per attempt and I am apparently supposed to have a 6.6% chance of getting it each attempt.

Is this just a case of really bad luck (in the sense I am yet to gamble it), or REALLY bad understanding (where I'm gambling for the wrong item and there actually is such a thing as 'Shinobi Armor')?
