posted a message on Φ The Official Eastern Sun Thread
If no one playing Eastern Sun has realized this - using crafted items throughout the game (Ie. like we did in the craftsmen tournament) makes the game a lot more fun and interesting. I'm using caster-crafted gear on my lvl44 sorc right now (gloves, belt and boots so far)and they don't hinder me too much, in fact some of the mods are a great welcome. Plus, the suspense of "What mods will I get on my crafted item?" right before you craft is an amazing feeling. :D

P.S. I would LOVE to do another "Craftsmen" tournament. Or possibly we could make it a runeword/unique/rare tournament. (I'm down with any of those three, I'm staying away from over-reliance on the sets, mainly because they take away from the variance the above items create).

If anyone is up for another itm-based tournament, PM me! :D

For Moon of the Spider, the main villain is Astrogha. Karybdus isn't necessarily evil, for those of you who haven't finished reading it yet. Corrupted? Maybe, that's a border-line term for his position on things. Mistaken and making a huge, obvious mistake? Defintely. The fact that it is such a blunt mistake on his part is what leads us to believe that he is, in fact, corrupted.

edit: read the spoiler if you want to understand where I'm coming from. It may give away the book, but I kind of dance around what happens in the book, since even at the end of it you're guessing about what is going on with Karybdus.

However he is not corrupted directly by the influence of another demon - but rather by draining the life of all the demons he has thwarted beforehand. The "Life Tap" curse, lore-wise, allows a necromancer to drain the 'life' out of a demon and kill it, but the necromancer may take after some of the traits of the demon. Karybdus had become one of the 'best' necromancers out there for taking out so many demons and keeping the Balance in... well, balance. However he had overused life tap, and taken in too many demonic entities that it is lead to believe that he has been influenced or corrupted by all of them, indirectly.

    posted a message on Ureh
If Ureh would be included in the expansion, then I assume actIII will not be a jungle-act, seeing as how that is what Ureh is surrounded by (aside from mountains, of course).

But I'd like to know, what are you guys thinking would be left in Ureh to make for a storyline? The city doesn't revive itself every 20 years, I thought it was once every 2000 years or so? And also, it won't revive anymore, seeing as how Captain Dumon and Zayl ended the 'curse' there. =/ I suppose it could be a nexus of power in sanctuary, thus demons may swarm there. BUT there is one thing I have to give to the Ureh point: the end boss I think is that "Mistress of Pain" or whatever that ugly spider was called. She could be the true (demonic) form of Selena or whatever her name was again (the princess of Ureh that was going to marry Captain Dumon?) and could possibly still be alive and trying to rebuild an army there?

There are only spiders in actI and actIII of diabloII, if I recall correctly. They may spawn inactV.

And I don't understand something - you're complaining about RPGs having no snakes? Last time I checked, there is a major quest in actII revovling around stopping snakes from blocking out the sun - and not to mention they also spawn in actV as well. In fact, snakes are more common in D2 as enemies then spiders are.

Not it isn't pay to play. It only is if you dont pay the game in a store and pay full game price there. If you download it on the internet or something from blizzard, then they will charge monthly fees (p2p). The latter is for peole who live in areas of the world where gaming stores are not as common.

My guess: The Scout. He can go temp invis, lay down wards. And has to channel several seconds to shot a GG crossbow. >.>"

But in all seriousness, I will guess that the last class will be called the Scout. I actually like the name, sounds pretty badass.

posted a message on XP level restrict
I think they should make side areas in all parts of the world (as in several places in each act) where there are much higher level enemies than any other non-boss monster you've faced in that difficulty. Like, for example in Eastern Sun, they changed the Pit, Abaddon, and Nihlathak's lair into very hard areas that needed you to have already beaten that act to be a high enough level to be able to kill stuff there. Otherwise, you could go in and try to kill whats in there - but would have a great deal of difficulty (making it funner and more suspensful)but be rewarded with real good items and experience. Nihlathak's Lair was an amazing change in that Eastern Sun mod, because it created that extra area (it was approximatly 6 or 7 levels, with a waypoint on the first)that had enemies that were much tougher than any of baal's minions, and gave good drops - if you could kill them, of course. These kind of "specialized" areas could be created in several areas for each act throughout the game, and could be made to be constantly changing level design so the player doesn't really know where to go for the "final boss" or sparkling chest at the end of the level. Am I right?

Lol okay, yeah I pretty much thought that. I forgot he had Stormfury with him still, its been several months since I've read The Black Road. But yes yes yes, lets hope Kabraxis does return, I mean it has been approximately 20 years since his last surfacing on Sanctuary. :)

I always took the mistress of pain to be Alanna or whatever her name was - the princess of Ureh from The Kingdom of Shadows. I don't know why - but I always felt that when she (and if) she turned into her true demon form, it would be like that of the Mistress of Pain.

edit: And I'm pretty sure I know why Kabraxis has a chance of making an appearence. But I could be wrong - would you mind sending a PM explaining your thoughts? :D

At least 2 of my teams are still in it: Orlando and Phoenix. I have a bad feeling the finals will be LA-Boston again, though. Lets pray to Diablo and hope that such horrible occurences shall never happen!
