The music samples on the Diablo III official site are fantastic... If you add screaming, demons howling, and babies crying in the background. Hopefully those make it into the final mix.

posted a message on Rune Swapping Restrictions Poll
I think the Mystic should be the only one to swap out runes. I think for a fee of gold, it can be achieved - sort of like a respec, only your runes are just unsocketed and given back to you. This would help drive the value of gold upwards.

Unsocketing your skill runes could get progressively expensive, until it reached a capped price. It would start fairly affordable, and get less affordable the amount of times you do it.

However, this may be the wrong way to approach it. It would make the player feel like they HAVE to get their skill runes in just the right places, or they have to pay the price to reset them. So I think the best way to implement this is to have the reset to be a set amount of gold, which is fairly affordable, but somewhat expensive - a happy medium.

posted a message on Monthly Fee/Subscription? Yes or No, if so how much?
I was thinking about this today. I'll probably pay a fee, and most of you won't. My fee is pretty large. Because once the girlfriend and baby move out due to lack of attention from me, it's time to pay child support :ermm:

What is that bottom left shaman shooting at?

I don't think he is shooting at anything

He must be the slow one of the bunch...

posted a message on Will you quit other games when d3 comes?
    Quote from DryIce135

I wonder how d3 will impact the sc2 community. Clearly d3 will have its strongest appeal to casual gamers. After all, d3 is a dungeon creeper game which will be mostly a low stress game. Something that you can do while chatting etc if you wish to. Currently sc2 does have a lot of casual gamers that tend to gravitate to the less stressful 4v4 and 3v3s. However I feel that the diablo universe will offer a much better gaming experience for the sc2 causal gamers in terms of being able to socialize and relax during the game.

I think that Diablo III won't affect the StarCraft II community nearly as much as it will affect the WoW community. SC2 has a whole different class of gamers - the strategy gamers. Competition is their focus, and SC2 will have much more competition over D3 - in terms of multiplayer.

But for the casual gamers of StarCraft II, I think it will be easier for them to get into Diablo III and really feel like they are accomplishing something. When I played StarCraft II, I really loved it. The matches were intense, but once I learned how terrible I really was compared to the majority of the player base, I was discouraged, played a bunch of custom games, and then just sort of dropped out. Strategy wasn't my thing. I couldn't think or click as fast as the majority of my opponents, and it became frustrating. I'm sure there are a few of these players out there that will gravitate towards Diablo III and be redeemed.

But for WoW, players are used to an RPG, and will be intrigued to try another - especially Diablo III. I think the fast pace and the visceral feel will be a good change of pace from the one-monster-at-a-time sort of battles. The diehard WoW fans won't stop their subscriptions, and will probably return back after a few weeks. But the WoW players really looking forward to the game may do differently.

This is all speculation of course.

I would most certainly pay a monthly fee, as long as Diablo III was guaranteed to be updated weekly and patched often. And if I were to pay this fee, I would pay no more than $15 a month.

I've been waiting for this game for a long time, and if I have to pay a small fee to do so, then so be it. Ain't no thang.

Creates a bubble that stops time in it's tracks. Although the Slow Time's bubble would be shorter and slightly smaller than normal to make it fair, it would stop everything inside it's grasp.

Well, if there were guilds in D3, there would probably be some benefit to being in one. Maybe a guild stash? :D

posted a message on PVP Builds
Anyone remember the old show Battlebots?

Remember the traps inside the arena themselves? Man that would be lame in Diablo III arenas.

    Back to topic:

@Dolaiim that is a very interesting idea for a build. The question is, would you be able to sap all of the opposing team, or would you focus on one at a time?

I personally want a Witch Doctor to be my first character, but he simply doesn't intrigue me as a PvP character. I would probably make a heavy-hitting, shield bearing, speedy Barbarian - hopefully the way he moves will be as intimidating as his attacks! Psychological warfare!

So do you really want to get into a battle with a boss that has 5 different stages, is hard to kill in the first place, health globes that drop only occasionally, and the chances for the loot you are looking for is a percent of a percent?
Well that line threw me off :P

I was just saying that if you were strictly running bosses for magic find, would it be worth your time to down these bosses? Wouldn't you rather magic find more quickly elsewhere? That's kinda what I meant lol

And yes, I do enjoy how the bosses are (supposedly) in Diablo III!

I would prefer bosses to be a challenge to take down. I don't want to mindlessly wail on one until their dead. I want to change my thinking and strategy through the course of the fight.
