Draco i doubt that, but a portal inside the portal would be funny xD
And steve, yes materials should..but they arent and wont be a factor in the end. Like guys, i get you, much gold very fast is nice and all.. But after a short while you'll have 2-3 billions and.. What then?
Weird, There's alot we still don't know about things not yet implemented. Points in this thread have already been made about the cost of rolling perfect gear getting from 499 primary to 500 may seem insignificant but may be needed to finish that one tier you couldn't previously. With bad luck this could cost millions. Second point, Legendary Gems, if for one second you think you just slap the gem into Urshi and click upgrade and its done I think you are sadly mistaken. Yea sure they are probably cheap to start but seeing as they are infinitely upgradable Id assume the price will skyrocket. I may be wrong here but there are still so many unknowns about the game. Maybe this was implemented for seasonal characters, Think about how many millions of gold you've spent on your current and previous gear. Now think about how time you've had to collect that gold and how you probably obtained alot of it via the auction house. Now maybe you are the kind of guy that doesnt play seasons or won't but then if they would have given this feature to only seasonal players you'd be the guy to come QQ'ing on this forums about it. As I said there is to much unknown on DAY 2 of the PTR.
+1 OP. Completely unwarranted nerf to resource cycling builds, which, by the way, aren't even as good as Sentry.
I cannot for the life of me wrap my brain around nerfing the higher skillcap, lower tier spec. It just doesn't make sense.
So what you're trying to say is you want everyone to have to run sentry build? I'm not the only one that is been thrown into disagreement about basically nerfing every other demon hunter build and preparation all together.
No, your just the one complaining about something without having all the facts yet. Wait till PTR, then bitch to your hearts contentment.
Why wait when they have it planned out already and they posted about it. Honestly people hate the change to Demon Hunter, go to the battle net forums and click on Demon Hunter, all the recent threads are about not wanting the dumb change.
There's this thing they are putting this into. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe its called a PTR and for those not up to speed thats stands for Public Test Realm. Now I know this is hard to comprehend but thats a Test Realm for the Public. As is see if it works. See how to balance it in a realm or more simply not on the live game based on public feedback.
all typos that I can find have been fixed as well as some mistyped numbers. I apologize for the typos and I realize I should have waited til I had some sleep to make this thread everything should be good now!
That has got to be a typo.. or they omitted the truth that they only acquired 979 caches.. : P
Indeed it was a typo I actually plan on cleaning up the thread tonight. I wrote the thread at 6 in the morning after finishing the last 170 bags. Thanks for pointing out the issues I'll get right on them as soon as I can.
Still blows my mind how many peeps don't do T6 (or at the very least T5 bounties)... they seriously take just a handful of seconds more than T1/Normal if you are geared.
I agree on doing higher torments when it comes to "casually" doing bounties. But when it comes to 1000 total in a week every second counts.
RNG is RNG. there is no weight in the bags. I've gotten 7 RROG and 3 of the 7 are HC trifecta. I have never received the Scepter. also for act2 I have only ever received the boots and shrine gloves. The data you took is for what, a party of 4 farming 1000 bags. Try an actual sample size. A clan of 150 farming 1000 bags per person. Your data is still inconclusive.
Its unfortunate that you feel this doesnt help at all. With millions of people playing this game I understand that 1000 bags is nothing compared to 150,000 bags as you suggested.
Im looking forward to seeing your post of 150,000 caches we can compare data! More data more precise!
I'm Crusader and I'm a streamer over on twitch. Here's a link to the stream: http://www.twitch.tv/cultistsofscorpitox To explain a little bit about the stream for those that do want to come hang out we are a multibroadcaster stream meaning we have 5 uniques players that are part of the broadcast. Myself, Davidson, Andrew, Skydriver, and Majarcus. Anyway enough about the stream.
One week ago we decided to do our usual restock of rift key stones and like many others we decided to save up a few bags. As we progressed we remembered a video from here of someone opening 170 act 1 caches. This gave us an idea.
We decided collectively over 4 players to collect 1000 caches. We are collected the caches from acts 1-4 on normal. We intended to do these bags on torment but realized that 1000 bags is quite a few and went with normal instead.
This project took us about 6 days at 4 hours a day of constant farming a total of aproximately 24 hours to acquire 1000 caches. As previously stated all we did acts 1-4 but were very heavily doing act 1 3 and 4 and occasionally 2. We gathered as much information as we possibly could.
Legendaries:
After opening all 1000 caches collectively as a group we received 97 legendary drops. These drops are both cache specific and non-cache specific legendaries. So based on our sample size of 1000 normal caches you have a 9.7% of receiving a legendary of some sort. Me personally expected a much lower number but the numbers support it.
Cache Specific Legandaries:
This is number we wanted to know from the very beginning. What is the % chance for a cache specific legendary from a bounty bag? In 1000 bags we recieved 78 cache specific legendaries. This gave us a number of about 7.8% chance per cache to recieve a cache specfic legendary.
You are probably wondering what we got of these well your in luck. We kept track of that as well.
Avarice Band: 2
Boots of Disregard: 7
Burst of Wrath: 4
Cloak of Deception: 7
Coven's Criterion: 2
Death's Bargain: 0
Envious Blade: 3
Gloves of Worship: 2
Golden Gorget of Leoric: 6
Helltrapper: 0
Ilusory Boots: 2
Insatiable Belt: 4
Mad Monarch's Scepter: 8
Overwhelming Desire: 7
Pandemonium Loop: 1
Pauldrons of the Skeleton King: 7
Pride's Fall: 1
Ring of Royal Grandeur: 4
Salvation: 3
Sanguinary Vambraces: 6
Soulsmasher: 2
After seeing these drops we began to realize that not only world drops have weighted numbers applied to there drop rates but cache legendaries do a well. Items such as the Mad Monarch's Scepter are much more common that items such as the RoRG. This should be taken with a grain of salt this is just based on our sample size.
Crafting Materials:
We made sure to not keep track of the legendaries but everything else we possibly could as well. Note for Crafting materials we salvaged all rare and magic items before counting the craft mats.
Arcane Dust: A total of 2785 were collected making the average of receiving them 2.785 per cache
Veiled Crystal: A total of 1903 were collected making the average amount per cache 1.903
Reusable Parts: A total of 3268 were collected making the average amount per cache 3.268
With these numbers simply put, you should receive approximately 3 arcane dust 2 veiled crystals and 3-4 reusable parts
Gems:
Gems were interesting as we collected the data it initially seems like amethysts were the top dog but we continued to keep adding them together and found that you have ~50% chance to receive 1 gem. No matter what class you are playing you dont recive any more or any less of any one gem. Here are the numbers.
Ruby: 511
Amethyst: 588
Diamond: 529
Emeralds: 526
Topaz: 535
All though the for Amethysts we did in fact receive them the most it was by such a marginal amount it leads us to believe that gems have no weighting in caches.
Blood Shards:
Some interesting things came out this number although we expected alot more than we received looking back we realized something that we hadn't before. This may be common knowledge but to us it was new information, The Difficulty you do the bounties on affects the number of blood shards you recieve. We only received 2.586 blood shards per cache.
Blood Shards: 2586
Video:
We wouldn't do you guys justice opening 1000 caches without you being able to watch it happen. So, I made sure to highlight the VOD of us opening them.
I do want to say this this took a ton of effort and me and my friends started to go insane gathering this much information for you all. so all I ask if you found this information useful do us a favor and stop by the stream http://www.twitch.tv/cultistsofscorpitox/ and say what's up
I read through this and saw you suggestion for atrophy and thought omg gimme gimme gimme. Mainly becuase I love the MM build for wizards and shooting even more things YES! Good thread my man.

Now another thing that wouldn't be fair is if we put all this data in a thread with out compiling it in to one place so we made a spreadsheet as well.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AlN0xxYht-VkdFhFTlVpLUJ1OU96VFhEMHhoTGIza3c&usp=sharing
