Sankis is the best weapon here, ideally you would craft an even mediocre devastator but if you don't have the plan...really a toss up between best dps and odyn sons proc.
I can suggest dropping WW and go for HOTA aswell, damage is so poor on WW that it really isn't viable unless you want to stay in t1-t2

Apr 23, 2014Op's stormshield is below average on rolls I think lol, the variables are really small and the only above average roll is the vit and the 10-11 elite damage.Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
Stormshield and lidless wall are the only 2 I'd consider candidates.
Apr 23, 2014People are trying to compare Maximus in a favorable light vs 1h's of the same quality. The reason why the thought is even remotely tolerated is because of the best in game legendary affix is slapped onto this sword.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I still think the Devastator/Axe of Sankis combo is far better on Barbs and monks. Crusader obviously it's BIS if you're fire.
The biggest problem for me with 2h's is the sockets. Give them two sockets and you'll see them becoming competitive choices. Especially for PvP when that comse around.
The crusader issue is tricky but currently the sockets is what makes the comparison a joke.

1. I don't have questions, in fact I've never asked a question in the entire thread. Are you paying attention at all?Quote from Venaliter
Seen the thread title? We're not even discussing cooldown reduction in here. My advice? Read the thread, and if you still have questions we'll help you.Quote from Dingus_Callout
Theres no way IAS would out preform straight damage in a rift situation which is exactly what are you implying.
2. I have read the entire thread by now
3. I didn't mention cd reduction at all in my quote or my posts.
4. You are still dead wrong, and I'd love for you to extrapolate on what you've already said. It'll be funny.
Bagstone's switch to the wizard forum is appropriate but I'd like to mention my analysis of CC/CHD applies for all classes.
Apr 22, 2014Edit: the 1500% meteor has a cd which is why its not as impressive with ia.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
literally everything you said I agree with and everything I've said is correct.
IAS preforms poorly compared to straight damage especially when on the move although it does have some benefit.
I'd love to hear the other poster try to refute anything, calling him out right now.

All of the mechanical aspects mentioned here are real and are benefits that IAS gives, HOWEVER mechanics like cooldowns scale FAR better with damage than IAS, a good example is heavens fury.Quote from Cularic
I think the assumption that IAS doesn't help you "run and gun" comes from an MMO mindset.
In Diablo, increasing your attack speed reduces the animation frames in even one attack, allowing you to kite or move and fire more quickly.
In a game like WoW, where you can move and attack simultaneously, haste doesn't impact your ability to kite or move, really.
These point alone are much more tangible and shine compared to any kind of movement benefit given by IAS.
Would you rather your 1500% weapon damage meteor cast in a a couple frames faster or crit 30% harder?
While being careful not to bring myself to your level I'd like to wager that I've played more Diablo than both of you combined in my life, while I did play WoW for a small amount of time relative to Diablo I certainly don't have a "mmo mindset"
Apr 22, 2014And no I didn't read the entire thread, don't really need to since the relationship between the stats from a purely mathematical viewpoint is simple. There weren't any posts explaining how they compare to one another in a single sentence and I know people don't have time to use excel so I provided that.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
Apr 22, 2014Theres no way IAS would out preform straight damage in a rift situation which is exactly what are you implying.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I'd love to hear why you think it would though.
"AS has the *most* benefit in high movement situations, specifically rifts" Wrong, infact the exact opposite is true, IAS will preform best when zero movement is allowed. If you are moving IAS has no effect, unlike straight dps (CC/Crit Damage)
Apr 22, 2014Carnevil really needs 4 piece zuni to work.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
Stack phys% damage and just slam dart over and over. Really awesome build.

I would be surprised/dissapointed if PVP WASN'T out before the next xpac was out.Quote from insanetrasher
I'll be very surprised to see PvP before the next expansion hit the shelves.
With that said I think the game could survive indefinitely with just a ladder system and no pvp aspects beyond what we have already.
Really PvP right now is no different than what we had in D2, game size is the biggest difference that comes to mind.
There are plenty of PvP focused runes already in specific elements, theres just NO incentive currently and the actual gameplay sucks.
Apr 22, 2014Just wanted to chime in on this topic for people who want an understanding of the relationship between IAS and CC/CritD% in TLDR fashion.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
They relate to each other in a very simple way, even more so if graphed.
The reason why CC/CritD% are far better stats is because they SYNERGIZE meaning the two combined are more effective than the sum of their parts.
IAS scales LINEARLY compared to CC/CritD% which would not.
Interesting example of this would be the split between ideal CC/Crit% amounts. 1% crit and 100% CCD% is LESS effective than a more balanced approach.
TLDR: While IAS -SCALES- with DPS where CC/CritD% -SYNERGIZE- with eachother resulting in a huge dps benefit.
IAS also has a intangible & interesting effect with many resource neutral or generating abilities but thats not here nor there and is tough to evaluate unless we are on a build by build basis.
I want to also note that the benefit IAS gives isn't all that impressive when you are slamming rifts in groups and constantly clicking and moving, meaning you aren't getting the benefit of having a smaller downtime between attacks.
Edit: To other people who understand the mathematical relationship between the stats: The answer to the threads question is YES. But only in a very specific character sheet state that has pretty bad gear. CC/ChD% will quickly outclass IAS after you move past this breakpoint.
Apr 21, 2014Dingus_Callout posted a message on Wizard. Dream patch notes, skill changes i wish were madeEvery single one of those changes affects a tier1 spell/set already in the game. NOTHING WILL APPEASE YOU.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories

I'm a simple man.. hence I want simple things ;D
Meteor- Molten Impact, damage reduced and cooldown removed.
Disintegrate is now fire damage. And some of the runes are adjusted as such.
Fire spells have gone through number pass and their damage has been buffed.
Power hungry is replaced by Blood Magic, Every point of Arcane Power you use, heals your character by 0.2% of it's maximum healt.
Vyr's 4-set bonus now also decreases the cooldown of Archon by 1 second for each enemy killed.
Firebird's 6-set bonus now has a chance to summon a Phoenix that sets all enemies within 15 yard range on fire that burns for 150% of your weapon damage a second.
Apr 19, 20141. Armguards don't really synergize with firewalkers and frankly the boots sucks compared to whats out there, use climbers or a set piece depending on what you prefer Edit: Warz armguards are some of the best bracers in the game, can be a great catalyst to speedrunsPosted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
2. Majority of WD's shouldn't be using a SOJ right now, not BiS
3. Hexing pants are BiS by a mile
4. A properly geared and spec'd firebarbs whirlwind isn't mana intensive at all, I don't even run a generator with IK set bonus'
