I have been going through the Diablo wiki and found (think I found) from where each char comes from.
However, can't seem to figure out from where the sorcs came?

Makes sense, as the mortal realm wouldn't see it coming considering that they've nearly forgotten the events of D2/LoD. They could also be amassing their armies in hell.

You also forgot the last bit, that is in my sig. In the teaser trailer, there is a scene where a comet, a single comet, is seen falling from the sky.

I'll give you that most of that prophecy tells of the events in D1/D2/LoD, but the last part about the comet... it doesn't tie in with D2 or LoD, but it fits awfully well with the teaser trailer and what we've seen so far.

What's really debatable is whether or not the entire events of D1/D2/LoD were part of an even greater plan by the three prime evils.

The last bit is not from the manual. Is from the d3 site.

The amazon islands have a different name now. And there is another island west of them. Hmm

Another thing, isn't Scosglen suppose to be all forest? The druids come from there if I remember correctly.

posted a message on Prophecies of the Final Day - REVEALED
This prophecy is all about Diablo 1, diablo 2 and d2 Lod. Not d3

Diablo1

"And a child will cradle Terror in his breast as the heart of man falls under the shadow.

Diablo2

A Wanderer will pass through the ancient lands trailing chaos in his wake.

The Three Brothers will be reunited as the mortal world trembles before their might.

And so it was foretold that the Three, once reunited, would be shattered again --

And the last of them would set his sights on the holy mount. The warnings held that
Their defeat would be illusory - that the final gambit had yet to be played . . ."

* * *

Diablo: Lod

And now at last the storm surges forth from the southlands, and the hand of Destruction
Reaches out to undo the workings of the Ancients. The tides of Hell surge - ready to smash
Down upon the shores of the mortal world - to drown the guilty and the innocent alike."

- Excerpt from the Prophecies of the Final Day

The last couple of lines simply mean:

"And so it was foretold that the Three, once reunited, would be shattered again -- "

Diablo and mephisto are defeated

"And the last of them would set his sights on the holy mount. The warnings held that
Their defeat would be illusory - that the final gambit had yet to be played . . ."

Baal set his sights on mount arreat. The defeat of Diablo/Mephisto was illusory as Baal is still free. Also, the destructions of the soul stone means Diablo/Mephisto are no longer bound to the mortal realm. The final gambit is Baal's march to Mount arreat in order to break the barriers btw hell and the world, thus letting his borthers return.

"And now at last the storm surges forth from the southlands,
and the hand of Destruction"

Baal (Lord of Destruction) marching from Kurast to Arreat

"Reaches out to undo the workings of the Ancients. "

That is, to go pass the guardians of arreat( The ancients) and corrupt the Worldstone.

"The tides of Hell surge - ready to smash
Down upon the shores of the mortal world - to drown the guilty and the innocent alike."

Now this part is interesting, as it hints to the end of the civil war on hell, since "The tides of hell surge-" meaning that hell is united, ready to attack the mortal realm once baal corrupts the wolrdstone (which is "the shores of the mortal world"). So maybe the prime evils had a "master plan", to get their soul stones destroyed and then Baal would corrupt the worldstone.
However, this whole prophecy is about what happened from d1 to d2 Lod and not about what will happen in d3. Else, why would they wait 20 years to unleash their hordes upon the world?

well, if the general idea of this is right
http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11771

Then I beleive druids will come back as a class.
Quote from "Fiacla-Géar »
"[The Druids] created a new culture and language, cutting themselves off from their Barbarian cousins and their ways, vowing not to return to the Steppes of Mt. Arreat until the time of the Uileloscadh Mór, the final battle between the men of the world and the demons of the Burning Hells."[/I']
http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Prophecy

So, I will go on to make a bold claim, that the 3 missing classes are indeed the amazon, sorc and druid, as they are the ones that have similar prophecies to the barbarians' ( which so far seem to be the principal character of diablo 3) prophecy of the final day.

In my opinion that's Asmodan, the lord of sin. Because that monster looks more like a 3 headed Sneak(A Hydra) than anything else. And the sneak symbolizes sin.

Thus, the secret project was named "Hydra".

posted a message on The right idea, but having trouble translating it into the game?
http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.aspx?fn=d3-general&t=45888&p=1&#post45888

An interesting post in bnet forums.

First off, I would like to apologize if people feel like I am beating a dead horse, or just jumping on the "zomg I hate the WoW art" bandwagon. But I assure you, I am not.

I am here to praise the concept art that Blizzard has given us.. and I believe it fits into the Diablo universe VERY well.

Infact based on the concept art alone, I am convinced that Blizzard KNOWS the dark gothic style of Diablo.

My main gripe right now, is that I believe Blizzard has the correct art direction, but instead they are having trouble translating it IN GAME.

For example check out this concept art:

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

If Blizzard showed you JUST this artwork and no gameplay video wouldn't you feel 100% confident in their art direction?

As you can see, you don't have to sacrifice color to keep the gothic dark feel of Diablo. Some of the concept art is proof of that.

Now contrast it to in-game screenshots:

Diablo III - Screenshots

Diablo III - Screenshots

Diablo III - Screenshots

Diablo III - Screenshots

Very bright, very vibrant, very polygonal, and fantasy-style. Looks more like early builds of Warcraft 3 than WoW IMO.

In my opinion, Blizzard has the right idea, but looks like they are having trouble translating into in-game

If you agree with me, respond with your thoughts.

If you disagree with me, don't bother replying and just let this thread die down :P

Take a look at the rest of the artwork yourself:

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Diablo III - Artwork

Still lots of color. Still highly stylized and matches the the Diablo world perfectly.

So what if I've seen only 1% of the environment? What the hell is your point?

Let me make this clear for you mindless blind fanboys:

- I like color
- I like Blizzard's art style
- I believe Blizzard DOES NOT want Diablo to look like the Warcraft universe. They have stated this before.
- There is a discrepency between the artwork, the "Diablo world style" art and the current build with the in-game graphics
- Blizzard will obviously polish it up and fix it later just like they do with all their games.

As the poster noted, Blizz has the right idea, just having trouble translating it into the game.
