My suggestions concerning trading features and pvp features.
PvP- We need a more focused system here, this cat and dog chasing around maps gets old, fast. Hardcore mode pvp is such a waste, you work your butt off to play russian rollette with someone of equal or greater power, reward?.. Gear; loss..?;everything.
I think it needs to be refined with a better system, why can't gladiator type arenas be thrown in, or game types with pvp objectives, maybe races; like beating another player in a race that deals with killing tons of really difficult bosses in a set time frame?.. The game is after all a fast paced hack'n'slash. Why not have different game types setup for pvp, or npcs you could go to an engage in these events by talking to them and choosing where you'd like to compete. Like for instance- Be the last man standing in a deathmatch, where the spin is. You have to survive against the opposing players, and an onslaught of helacious demons that are there willing to tear you limb from limb- Reward, possibly amazing loot? Because it doesn't have to cater to all those people who wish to pvp, cause again it's arena style, the strongest player or most strategically skilled player will stand victorious.
In reality there just has to be more than, player-x, + kills player-y.. = bragging rights and an ear, or gear if you're on hardcore mode. There needs to be something more engaging to the player. That's the jist of what my opinions on pvp as it was in diablo 2 and where I think pvp should go in diablo 3.
Trading system-
Bartering is outdated, there really needs to be a set currency even if this game is co-op. Why can't there be caravan of sorts that you can drop items off at that you want to sell to other players, and any other player in the game could go to the caravan and purchase your item for a set price, or bid on the item. A mailing system needs to be implemented some how. By now I hope everyone realizes that a game like diablo, you sure as hell create more than one character. And many a time do players find some amazingly useful item that doesn't fit the character they found it on but would greatly suit another one in their arsenal. Maybe change gold with a lower metal?; keep it but have it worth more in it's respects. Like for instance 1000 copper = 1 gold, make copper heavily readily available like gold drops were in diablo 2.
Diablo's main flaws were these two systems, and I think it's great that they've been brought up for discussion. I know my ideas aren't wholely original ( or that's what I'm expecting ), but I believe they're noteworthy. Diablo 2 was and still is one of my most favorite games of all time, and if Diablo 3 can pick up on a couple of places where diablo 2 lacked. It can definitely be up there as one of the greatest video games ever made. Not many games can make you feel like a god in it's respects. Diablo did just that, made you feel more than human in the game world set in sanctuary. Keeping the formula from diablo 2 to diablo 3 is a great plus, but lets throw some more calculations in there.
Sorry for some of the mangled sentences, I wrote this at 2:30 in the morning; after coming back from the midnight movie release of deathrace.

My main question deals with item balancing, mostly runewords, Are we going to see runewords in DIII; How are runewords going to differ from unique loot( same scale, balanced at a more powerful point, etc. )
edit: And another one; Item sets; are we going to be seeing those at all?, and if so are they going to play a more significant part in game play, ( most of the item sets from d2 couldn't compare to the caliber of even some of the mildest runewords )
Any thought on the subject as far as item balance goes and how they're working that out is what I'm mostly getting at. Feel free to pick my question apart. -

Kid, just take a couple months off WoW, stop smoking pot, get into a sport, sports are fun, I played football for a few years in highschool.
And saying that you can't get addicted to a video game is a bullshit lie, you can become addicted to a ton of shit, hoarding, sex, drugs, television, and video games, they're a form of entertainment that needs to be taken in moderation, Olga you need to do less reading an take a look out the window every now an then.
Kids coming to these forums an posting your life problems already shows you have a major obsession/problem, go talk to your parents, or close friends, see what kind of things you can go out an do, go to the movies, go play pool, or bowling, or even go bike riding for a little while every day or w/e pending on the location. Get out, and get active, socialize.
Basically what Carlos said, family is a huge ++

Linkx why does it even matter, you're playing on a private server, which is just stupid to begin with cause that shit is run off emulators an of course a bunch of kids are goin to be playing on that bullshit once they figure out how to, cause they're mums an daddies won't pay a penny towards the actual subscription, quit your whining, head over to stranglethorn horde are constantly ganking allies there, on most pvp servers thats where the real ganking is at. The shit is push an shove, go find somewhere else to level up.

Well I quit wow, after a few years of playing it things became repetative, friends lost interest thus causing me to find something else to do. (after about my 4th lvl 70 things went became a tad bit dull)
I played Guildwars for a while, got about 8 lvl 20's with decently good gear, couldn't find a decent guild to run anything with, pvp was mildly amusing at best. Waiting to see what Guildwars 2 has to offer.
I tried hellgate london out for a while, I played the game in alpha, played it in beta; I kept hoping for a great turn of events. But of course EA had to basically force these guys to push an unfinished product to the shelves and that hampered it an severely crippled game play. Who knows it could have a great come back in an expansion or two, we'll see.
I was playing Lord of the Rings online for a while, decided to give up that great game; there wasn't enough of a player base at the time, I played the game back in beta an loved it an got a elf hunter to about level 36 on the Nimrodel server. (been considering getting back into it)
As of late I've been playing Call of Duty 4(PC), and The Witcher, I'm eagerly awaiting GTA IV and Age of Conan. Those games should keep me busy for some time, and not to mention Battlefield: Bad Company, I've been having mixed feelings but I think the overall turnout of that game is going to be a good one.

The call of duty series was superb, I own all of them, I sold my wii along with CoD3. After finding out infinity ward likes to screw with people an have another developer pick up it's odds an evens in their games it kind of bugged me. CoD4 has great fast paced online play, I believe it's the idealoligy of leveling, gaining upgrades, etc, etc. That keeps people hooked.
Forgot to add F-zero(SP) don't remember it was an old racing game for the nes that i played all the time.
Also BATTLETOADS for the gameboy, boy do I miss that title.
And well lets see here, I've always been a fan of most of the tom clancy games.
The Witcher- I bought this game a while ago, never really picked up in playing it, but over the past few days I installed it and the game has a really big oblivion feel. It has a different fighting system but it is a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying it.
Going to have to also say ehh, GTA, the epitome of sandbox, is one of my favorite game series. Ever since the gta for the ps1 I've liked it. I duno what's so fun maybe it's the idea of doin something so close to real but at the same time not doin it an and being able to be real strategic about certain things. Oh and jacking cars .. also fun. hehe..
I love the medal of honor games, those are up there with the call of duty titles. Lots of fun, very dramatic, over all great play.'
Fallout 1/2- I totally forgot about those games, I don't have them any more but aside from diablo; I really got into those, I'm really curious as to how fallout 3 is going to roll out being a FPS an all. Also really enjoyed Neverwinter Nights, and Baulders Gate they were great games.

I was curious, sitting here, trying to figure out a way to bring folks together an chit chat about the games they like, why they like them, and what makes them so near an dear.
I'll start off with a small list of my favorite games or game series.-
Diablo1/2/LoD: I started playing these games back when I was twelve(18 now) They really got me hooked into the hack n' slash genre and it was probably the only game I played for a few years after that until World of Warcraft was released and I gave my account away to friends.
Super Mario Bro's.: Loved this game to death, it was one of the first games I had ever laid eyes on and I could just not put it down.
Zelda: Link to the past: Sitting along side mario bro's as one of the first games I really got into, zelda games to this day never dissapoint, I love them to death.
Galaga and Galactica: decided to slap these two together, they're a couple of my favorite arcade games I used to play em all the time.
Pacman: instant classic, enough said about that
World of Warcraft: One of the first mmo's I really got hooked into, I played it since it's release, Blizzards love for senior members in their community is next to none(literally ), it really started to get to me that all of their contests, all of their little things they'd set out to do were to please the masses, and not the little people who got their game to where it is today. And the fact that they overlooked so many things that could of made burning crusade such a better expansion. I'm currently putting that game on an indefinite hold until the next expansion is released.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: One of the first spec ops games I played, The whole feel of being a stealthy assassin geared with the most high tech shit was bar to none in that game It was a truely genuine feel.
Half Life 1/2+episodes: This game is one of the greatest first person shooters of all time in my opinion, when half life:2 was released it was ages and ages past it's competition. It still has one of the best stories in any shooter to this day, I can play it 100x over and still never get bored.
Command and Conquer(the rts series as a whole): I think most of them were well placed together, it began to fall apart with cnc3: tiberium wars, things were soo unbalanced, scrin over powered everything, now the tables have turned an GDI reign supreme with this new expansion. I hope with RA3 they get things right, it should be a nice haul.
Halo Trilogy: Goin to add this to my list of favorites, I loved the story, read the books, and just think it's a great play even if it's sort of generic style, it's interesting to see things unfold.
Warcraft 3/tft: Loved this game as well, this is what got me into the warcraft lore, I picked up wc2 after this an saw how great things were. This was my basis for searching into more dwarven, elfish lore great RTS game as whole and the storyline sits on the top of one of the best ever established.
Starcraft: The name speaks for itself, being one of the most balanced rts games ever made, it is and will always reign supreme, if only I had RL friends that liked it, most of them are warcraft or cnc people.
Going to wrap this up so I don't keep dragging this on, I could go on and on and on, I'd really like to see what kind of games you guys are into, and your opinions on them. If this turns into a flame war I'm goin to get a moderator to close this. Be mature about it, show everyone some respect :).
In my opinion, the thing that makes any game great is when you lose yourself in it, in it's entirity, losing track of time an being so enveloped in the story and the fascinating action / fun the game has to offer. Is what makes any game top-notch.
