posted a message on Helltooth frame drops (not latency)

Again its not a graphical lag issue (so it doesn't matter your machine's specs or your graphic card). Its NOT from Helltooth WD visible spell effects (altho the fire is annoyingly to bright an orange--no one can see Desecration effects for example).

Rather is network LAG spikes that happen when the WD lays down multiple Walls of Death. It will bring a GR to a stand still for 10-45 seconds. Frozen. And then it catches up and most melee are dead. And the timer bar on the GR leaps forward. It sucks.

Its all the underlying math formula client-server calculations for damage, etc. crashing the group's latency.

If you add a Monk Palming everything to the mix -- on medium-large GR trash packs - you can go get a sandwich and drink and come back and the game will still be frozen solid.

It needs to be fixed ASAP. I cannot believe months of PTR testing and Blizzard didn't fix this.

Season 2 -- 503 Paragons - I looted 1 - had one mercy given to me as that player had 10 already at Paragon 250.

Why in the world is the drop rate so screwy? I've looted more highly desired ancient weapons (Anc. Furnace, Anc. Torch, Anc. Inna Diabo) then Ram. Gifts. That's insane.

A 500 million gold price seems good to me for one.

posted a message on I know its RNG and all that but is this really fair?...on the verge of quitting
The problem is - the game isn't truly RNG as every stooge here says over and over ... repeating the line from Blizzard ad nauseam.

It is a weighted loot system -- there are values associated with every piece of loot. If it was truly RNG - there would be no values - no weights, no limits, no "laws". If the game decides that a chest pops out a legendary, and that legendary "rolls" gloves for example, then smart loot says its a DH so it should have Dex on it, then it "rolls" the item -- a true RNG game would have that roll give you a chance on all 32 different gloves available to the DH at equal weights. But D3 doesn't -- some moron game developer at Blizzard decided that making TnT for example have around a 2% chance out of those 32 to drop. So instead you get 10s and 10s of crappy Magefists or Glad Gauntlets over and over. Don't even get me started on Bojanglers. I know a DH with over 400 paras and has never seen a pair of TnTs one time. That isn't RNG. That is a stupid design idea carried out to moronic degree in D3.

Hence your Furnace dilemma -- if Furnace was weighted the same as say all the 2-handers in the game - you would stand a fair chance in a RNG system to eventually get one. But you don't because -- Blizz decided to weigh it so low below all the other 2-handers - you will loot a F*#K ton of Messerschmidts Reavers instead and may NEVER see a Furnace because of that low percentage weighing. There are several spreadsheets out there right now that show you all the absurd weights on items - like the Witching Hour. Lets not even talk about the fact that if they do even drop they then have a high probabilty chance to roll like crap.

RNG = all items would be equal among the categories of the slot. There would be NO weight system.

Should a Starmetal Kukri have less than a 1% chance to drop ? No way - its stupid and a flawed design. Should it be somewhat rare? Sure I guess - and in a none weighted RNG game system it would be -- you could get one of the many crappy 1-handers in the game like the Gift of S over and over.

GRifts are worthless and leader-boards pointless and full of frauds -- removing the weights would be good for the game... who would it "hurt" really? This is a solo game at its core with some attempts to add in some other junk beyond that. You could play the build you want, how you want, when you want, and then search for the upgraded rolls of the items you have and are enjoying already.

Not frustrated beyond belief, because for example you have 535 paras on a DH and never once seen a Witching Hour of any stat kind - but have purchased at least 20 Harrington's and Hellcats each with over 50,000 blood shards. And that is just a belt -- a slot that is largely pointless to a build unlike your weapon problem that can make or break the build you really would love to play.

Your definition of "easy" and mine are very different. I think you actually "play" on these boards more than you actually play the game.

Almost 20k shards to get a Harringtons is dumb (which rolled like crap from Kadala anyway), considering others have the belt drop often in Rifts pretty common. But to me that is what Kadala is there for. The very specific item that lets you play your spec slightly different. And the concept of End Game? Really - this isn't D2. That whole concept died with Rifts and loot drops for a Torment level 1 or a level 6, doesn't matter which.

And how the F*ck do you know my drops? I have had the Helm and Shoulders of Akkhan given to me by a WD and DH in my clan during our Rifts together. Boots I got from Kadala after 15k plus shards. So a AC Chest and Legs and crappy hands. So in almost 500 hours of game play that is 3 drops of pieces of my class set items in total. And 1 from her.

During this same exact time period on my Crusader - I have looted Firebirds off-hand twice and head, Jadeharvester shoulders twice, Barb Mighty Weapon green, Barb chest, Barb Belt, Barb shoulders twice and Nats ring and helm. Understand?

Kadala sucks the life from this game, period. RiF tries to counter that some. OP needs to stop crying about RiF play style. I do it, I like it. If Kadala wasn't such a stupid mechanic with a horrible rate of return -- I would not join RiF channels. But she sucks, so I do it. Kadala is an attempt to correct an issue that as been posted about at length, here and on the official forum, which is -- set item drop rates are super bad! And remove Blackthorns from the Green loot table, along with Travelers Pledge and also greatly reduce the chances of other classes set items dropping. I actually get more Wiz and Barb set items on my Crusader doing Rifts than I do my own class.

Increase class set item drops rates during game play and leave Kadala for spending shards for that super rare very specific slot item like Tasker Theo, or Harringtons. Do that and the RiF community would shrink a lot. Until then, I think the RiF folks are providing a good-for-the-game barter-like transaction based service -- I clear the Rift, you get to kill the Rift Lord with me and then I get to do it again for "free" and you go spend the shards how you want with that horrible Kadala. Smart all around.

Or Blizz could just simply change Rift portal entrance fee to 1 Rift Key person and have that paid the first time you enter the Rift no matter how you enter. Or heck, they could even greatly reduce the Blood Shards from the Rift Lord down to say 25 and then have Blue Champs and Yellow Elites each drop a few Blood Shards throughout the Rift.

But either way RiF is not an exploit, its players playing the game in a smart manner.

Obviously most builds have an up side and down side. The fact you thought it was OP shows you lack this understanding. The downside is single target on this combo. It can be overcome to a degree by stacking a specific Elemental type damage modifier (i.e. Holy) and/or boots & helm with Blessed Shield damage +15%. Drop the shield and go with one that supports a more single-target focused attack, like a Eberli Charo and that helps too.

If they don't keep the current Anniversary Drop rate in Rifts -- I would say avoid the game. The only time this game has really been enjoyable for me and my clan has been since last Thursday when it began. Many are already saying they won't play past the end date.

Going back to a legend drop system that feels like your are searching for a needle in a haystack just to get the same 2-handed ax over and over isn't appealing once you've actually seen legends drop at a rate that the piece you really want doesn't seem so darn impossible to find.

posted a message on Likely Horadric Cache Leg exploit!
@Ashly_Larry -- I have 4 pieces of Akkhan with almost 400 hours of game play on my Crusader and 319 Paragons (so 5 with RoG gives me 6-set bonus).

I don't feel lucky. ESPECIALLY when you consider the shoulder piece was found by a WD in my party and given to me out of pity and 2 pieces where found prior to Blizz screwing with the Rift drop rates (which I still argue did WAY MORE harm than good to the loot system). So since the supposed Rift Leg 100% increase I've found exactly one piece of Akkhan set -- which sucks bad enough, but even more so when you consider I've looted tons of Blackthorns, Invokers, WD set pieces, Wiz off-hands and now DH set pieces.

I know many players who have half the game time played I do and are now running around in full Firehawk and Jade Harvester sets for example.

The loot system ISN'T random or RNG. It gets old people using that term. D3's loot system has rules and parameters. It isn't random. It is badly implement and poorly designed, but that isn't the same thing as RNG. That is shitty game design.

Case in point, my Crusader needs 1 more piece of Akkhan for 6-set bonus, twice this weekend Green Helms dropped running tons of T3/4 Rifts solo and in party. I think "Great", cause shitty Blackthorns doesn't have a helm." But NOOOOOOO, both damn times the helms were DH Marauders Helms. That isn't RNG - that is shitty game design. Something in the code allowed and made those DH helms drop for more Crusader.

When people come to the forums complaining about loot -- 90% of the time it is because of things like what happened to me this weekend. That is what people want fixed. Randomness is fine - BUT it needs to work within a system that makes sense, not one that turns gamers off,

Yeah - Crusaders are really not that efficient overall - we are mostly clunky and wrath regen sucks for the most part -- so we are very dependent on certain items.

I suggest this - Open a Torment 1 or 2 Rift and basically non-stop run through -- don't stop for "trash" -- just pull it all to the elites and champ packs you find. Kill it all, rinse and repeat -- popping every single chest you see. Kill Rift Lord. And then gamble your shards. First get someNemesisBracers, so that way you canequip them for Shrines and Pylons to spawn elites/champs. Then gamble to get some indestructible shoulders - that will keep costs down overall. Then gamble for Shields - you want one with a "orange" ability that helps you kill stuff. And craft the biggest Red Gems you can for gear - forget resistances. In your helm you want either MF or CDR. STR is the most important stat overall.
Repeat this until your eyes bleed. Every time you drawl a blank and are skunked for a legendary in a Rift run - go do a Act 1 Bounty fast and then go back to Rifts again. Every 2-3 Rifts - go do another Bounty, repeat this cycle until you get the Bounty Reward Cache. Restart game and do it again until you have the RoRG.

And yes ignore the paper-doll sheet for damage (IAS is way to highly rated for Crusaders for example), until Blizzard actually makes it useful -- I just track the amount of crit damage I do on a monster and adjust from there. And remember Armor is more important for most defense concerns.

Eventually, your main goal will be to have the "right" about of CDR along with Elite Damage Increases.

@Ult15 - Maikeru... looking at your profile - you have way to much life/vit/tough. You cannnot "live" your way through elites/champ packs, you have to kill your way through them. You have no where near enough damage for T4.

You need to farm Act 1 Bounties for the ring RoRG and add a piece to Blackthorns. Also you need to craft two pieces of Aughilds and with that ring - get the 3 piece bonus. No one with 3 yellow items, especially jewelry, should expect to do T4 easily. And your weapon doesn't really sync with your build. You have no real heavy resource spender (how many blessed hammers do you really need?), so first priority is get another weapon. And the shield is not ideal, you have a build that screams I will go toe-to-toe with elites, but yet your shield concerns movement speed.

I clear T4 solo easily, and group for T5 without issue (on my own I would take to long in T5 to be efficient). I am just missing 1 more piece of Akkhan to adjust the build for T5. Remeber you are better off in the Torment level you can do efficiently than trying to do a higher level that slows you down a lot.

Take a look at my profile for ideas:

posted a message on Set items drop rate To low
    Quote from itsjaemes

In the past couple of days of farming.. I've farmed my 5/6 pieces of Mauraders (several extras, only missing helm drop), entire Shadow set, entire Nats set (several extra helms and rings)

Just yesterday, I got 2 nat rings, 2 maurader pants and a bunch of other random set items..

    I might just be lucky...

EDIT: I've also randomly farmed on my alt chars 4 pieces of Raekor on my barb, 3 pieces of Akkhan on my sader without really playing much on them. I think I have 3 pieces of firebird and a couple of pieces of Vyr on my wizard who I've stepped away from.
See... this is exactly what IS WRONG with the "Random" loot system right now. Why should this player's loot drop rate so far EXCEED everyone else's drop rate?

It is BS and most likely the reason for all the frustrations expressed here. Sure RNG is fine but the bell curve within that random system needs to be much much smaller. Fix this shit now.
