Yes yes, I like this very much, great idea
Heres my profile, not a too high stuff, but maybe someone can find things useful
The only things of interest are for wizards as I roll that class, besides what I have equipped I have a respectable chantodo's force and a nice 9 APoC helm (not to fancy on other stats though)

Surely we can all agree that asking billions in exchange for an item on a non permanent server made solely for testing is dumb, but i'm afraid that restricting people from posting auctions for a piles and piles of money will just make them not post the auction to begin with. Someone posting a 2bil auction probably wants to tempt someone else into letting them test an item they're interested in and so the loop continues.
The only all-around-pleasing solution I can think of would be to make vendors you can straight up buy customizable items from. This would take an eternity to create and basically let anyone with a patched PTR test out what its like to play with the best possible gear and realize what a waste of time this is. To gain such privileges you first need to play the game for a decade, anything else is just bad business.
Make a thread requesting specific gear with a small explanation what you're trying to accomplish, and if you really want to milk it then offer even the smallest fee on live servers and people will gladly hand over what they have and clone a new character.
I'm not so sure people won't put items in the AH if it's limited, why not? don't forget that those people probably want items for themselves and therefore need some gold income, so they'll might need to sell some stuff. And also consider that if they don't sell them items are just occupying stash space.
I see there's this idea that people is so selfish and even malicious that they won't want to even think about doing something different than their more greedy whims, people can be generous sometimes, otherwise the idea of asking in a forum or in the chat rooms would be stupid.
Some people just need a nudge in the right direction...

If you like i can give you all my PTR gear and 500mil or so. PM me day and time at least a day early, so i don't miss it.
thank you very much, I could use that yes
I still maintain my point, I think it would be healthy for the PTR and the quality of feedback

It's PTR.... Where you test your live characters on the newest patch. Hell first day of PTR I gave some kid in trade 1b because he needed some crafting gold.
That's exactly the kind of logic I'm using, you can give away things. About the first part, there's no need to restrict the testing to only the live characters, that's not a rule and if it where then any kind of extra modifications to the toon should be removed (changing items or skills) because otherwise you wouldn't be playing your live character

If there was a price maximum of 100k gold on the PTR AH, no one would put up anything valuble on the AH. So, how does this help you again?
Why wouldn't they? it doesn't help anyone to have a lot of gold in the PTR either, so the gold is ultimately worthless.

If you want gear or gold, just be friendly and simply ASK them for you to have it the next time their copy-cooldown finishes. Most people are happy to lend a hand.
Thats a silly complaint when you're just looking for a solution in the wrong places.

Make some friends with high-end gear who don't want to spend time on PTR, and ask them to just copy their gear over and donate everything to you. Easy way around a fake, temporary AH.
I thought of that, but if someone is looking for a particular stat to try some skill, then the AH is a great way to find those items, and asking in the chat or to friends can be cumbersome, I'm not saying that asking is no good, but it can be easier to make it through the AH and, again, it doesn't hurt anybody.

I don't know why people would put things on the AH anyway.
Also, why are people asking for PTR progress to transfer to live servers? Facepalm
Putting things in the PTR AH can be useful, if you're searching for that particular item it's easier to browse the AH rather than just asking in the chat or in the forums.
People are asking to transfer things from the PTR to live you say? MADNESS!!

You do realize that you're asking improvements on PTR and not for the game itself, right?!
The point of the PTR is not to test high end gear on your characters but the changes for the incoming patch, to see how they will affect your gameplay, if there are bugs or things to be tweaked.
AH should not be the focus on the PTR, period.
PS: If there's a 100k or any small limit per auction, it means that everybody will buy that high-end stuff, some because they really want to test it but the majority because they want to see themselves dressed well, striding inferno like a boss...and since high end gear pieces are few (due to RNG), only a small percentage will have it (who buys it first) and not everyone will be able to test it.
What does that say to you?
Is it really a thought worth having right now?!
PS again: You can't complain in the same sentence that you're both a casual player and a poor player. Don't mean to offend you in any way but you just can't.
Of course I realize that why I'm asking is for the PTR only, otherwise it wouldn't make sense, it would just kill all the game economy.
In the PTR not only there're new gameplay features, but also skills changes, and in order to test the usefulness of those skills we need gear, because that's just the way Diablo 3 is, some skills just don't work without the gear.
About the RNG thing, you're right, but I think that it's better to have at least a few more people well geared than some items just sitting idle in the AH.
And I wasn't complaining that I'm a casual player and a poor player, I'm just saying that for PTR purposes the idea of deserving the gold and items because some people play more is useless and possibly harmful. Earning things in a test environment like the PTR is inconsequential.
In other words, you could say I'm asking rich or lucky players to give away their stuff on the PTR, why? because it doesn't hurt them (because ultimately the gold and items just vanish) and it can possible benefit us all (the rich can get items if they want them and also the poor). If the RNG and item scarcity negates absolute equality (unavoidable but necessary) at least a better distribution of wealth is a good thing.
COMMUNISM IN THE PTR!!

Since the very first PTR of WoW prices have been enormously, unbelievable high. There is no good reason for it. Players simply put things up for huge amounts. If you want to change that publish your things at low prices. Change could happen slowly and at least you'd be helping. I post things for super low sums on PTRs to try and help people test things.
I know, and I do, but the wait in this case is unnecessary, that's why I say a price limit should be implemented, you know, to speed things up.
Apr 12, 2013I posted this in the official forums but I'll go ahead and post it here tooPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I know this might sound whiny but I'll say it anyway:
why are the prices in the PTR AH so high!!?? I understand that people like to see high numbers in their account balance but come on! we, as a community, complain and ask for improvements and to be heard by the devs, and they give us the PTR, but half of us can't test the patch because we can't gear up for our builds.
I say the PTR AH should have a price limit of 100k or something like that:
It wouldn't affect the economy in any negative way and it would give players with little amounts of gold an opportunity to buy high-end gear and test different builds, effectively increasing the amount of players with a good chance to do the Public Testing and thus improving the quality of the feedback.
And before you say I'm crying because I don't have enough gold and I should go farm more, let me say you this: some of us are casual players and can't farm that much, but that doesn't mean we can't offer our insight on how to improve the game, and missing the opportunity the PTR offer us to do so because some people just get uselessly greedy is a waste of time, in both ends, for us because we can't play as freely as we could, and for blizzard because it wastes server and employees time and doesn't get as much and as good feedback as they could.
Apr 5, 2013yay! I got the triumvirate and some cheap zunis trails and got a decent buff on dps and I'm now over 100k unbuffedPosted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
@Jaetch, I know I have to farm more, and I will, with time (university and life takes a toll on my gaming time) but you're right, if I want to get good upgrades I must find the time
my next goal is to improve the trinkets and bracers, expensive as hell but I'll get there...
Apr 4, 2013I'm kind of lost with my wiz, I've been upgrading a few things here and there but with no substantial improvement and, as you are a great source of wisdom and knowledge, I come to ask your advice to make my wiz a better demon killing machine.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
here's the link to her: http://us.battle.net...1/hero/13991970
what do you guys think?
oh, btw, I have less than 1 mill of gold right now (not much of a farmer) so if you can tell me how much your ideas would cost it would be of great help, so I know how much I gold need to save
Feb 20, 2013I liked the URCT v3.0 it was far more active and had a lot of cool stuff every day, but the times were different, we weren't all day playing D3, we were talking about itPosted in: Off-Topic
I still remember the URCT HAPPENING!
Feb 14, 2013I'm kind of stuck with the uni, but I guess it's just a rough patch... On the bright side I found a new apartment with two bedrooms for almost the same amount I'm paying right now, so no more sharing rooms! I move next weekPosted in: Off-Topic
I'm also trying to find a job, not sure if it's hard yet as I didn't start to search (I'll start after finals and when I get to the new home). But I'm excited about that, I need to actually do something besides reading books

Jan 22, 2010yeah... I see this in the "earn points" part... the 97 is another example, the factor is 10 but I have 97Posted in: News
both are in the "points for votes" category, the 97 in the points for threads tab and the 13 in the "points for votes" in points for misc tab....
I think the factor written there is wrong... I mean, 10 points for giving or reciving one vote?? is like too much... maybe instead of 10 is 1 and that 0 ninja'd you
Jan 22, 2010yeah, you're right but that's not it... the thing is how do I get this?:Posted in: News
you see it?? X . 10 =/= 13 o__O
Points for thread votes ________________________factor________yours
How many points should be given for votes?_________x10_________13
btw, don't get offended, I'm just asking out of curiosity... I am NOT complaining
Jan 21, 2010really?? I never heard about that pact... uhmmmm...Posted in: News
then, if we are going to fight angels, they are going to manipulte us to finish hell first, then they will turn against us...
we never should have trusted those feathered glowing guys...
Jan 21, 2010yeah, think of our own history... there has been a lot of different cults that worship humans... if you are not a christian, then jesus was just a human and christians are worshiping a mere human...Posted in: News
in sanctuary, this cult could worship Bul-Kathos, Rathma, or Esu...
that would be a good way to explain how we could fight demons AND angels... otherwise would be treason...
