posted a message on Rollbacks? Im curious!

The reason behind rollbacks is probably because Blizzard was not consistent in preventing people from using exploit in the past. Now the signal is clear, so people would not get a sense of false security, or ignorant on what to do in the future.

They probably had a heated debate about what to do and rollbacks seems fine to me.

Also Blizzard keept their integritet by reroll back mannercookie too. What a bad boy ;)

#24 am out of popcorn, going to the gym now. Cheers ;)

EDIT before i go to the gym: Also the delayed ban button should secure a sense of false security among players to use exploits. encourage their minds that is okay to use. no punishment will come. then BOMB hit hard, hit as many as possible.

6 million dollars is a good pay day after taxes. but its a good bonus. And i think Blizzard janitor need a new lawnmower. Do not understimate the greed of capitalism.

The QA is there to test everything and it's possible to test everything - it's just matter of time. Maybe they got bad QA?

Absolutely ridiculous. If perfection is your standard, than you are utterly unreasonable. There has NEVER, EVER in the history of the world, not once EVER been a video game without exploits and bugs.

It never happened, it never will. It is simply impossible, and what you said above seems squeezed from the mind of an arrogant and ignorant gamer who sits absolutely clueless about the logistics of developing such a complex and massive game.

Its so ridiculous obvius that i think is a conspiracy to earn money from new licence games, when ban wave come.

Then why didn't they ban people for the recent XP exploit? Or the many other recent exploits that popped up? Seems like if their primary goal was to inflate sales using bans, they sure pass up an awful lot of opportunities. You're going to have to answer this, and not just keep ignoring a major hole in your theory.

Is called a subtle long term strategy to make a strong case like you do.

To make a huge big conspiracy you need something to back you. So first they make it seems they being lenient. and do not ban people. then they start their conspiracy so you not able to "prove" that is a conspiracy.

If they had hit the ban wave button early on, then they would not have the argument you just provided. So they was already thinking it though and thats why they first hit ban button now.

Ok. for the bug thing: here proof that Blizzard sometimes slow on doing things.

Choker is still stuck and fall off the map. I experience that 2-3 times past few days and its has being reported several times and nothing happen:

Ofc. the only gain Blizzard get from continue making patch and change to game is to maintain community loyality strategy + damage control from previus blunders making D3.

And i have being a critic but i really like 2.2.

But remember d3 is a not a big game such as wow. there is only few things that can break the game.

Blizzard has always being "its done when its done". And their games being good. Recently their has being no time and the schedule deadline are probably "harsh" from what we seing how D3 has developed since release. 2.2 is a great change. And i really hope the community stay strong until new exspansion.

But this kind of major exploit undermine the intregrity of the game.

Is not hard to have a check list of major possible game breaking mechanics:

    1. XP exploit

    2. Quest exploit

    3. Blood shards exploit

    4. glitches that able to change things radically

And since their little to non "endgame" content is not hard to test it. Its a known factor that since introducing greater rift their being major blunder. XP wise, you able to sit outside while people doing GR and gain xp or someting cannot remember it(before they change that xp gain world wide was okay).

So the concept of the exploit was known. Then came the bounty back and bloodshards. So now the blood thief and greater rifts.

So ofc. every game cannot be free of errors. But hey, this is a major exploit that could had being prevented.

Its so ridiculous obvius that i think is a conspiracy to earn money from new licence games, when ban wave come.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Bounty programs?

To country exploiting and enable a more cheaper means and incentive for players to report bugs instead using them secretly would be a good move. Am tired of taking my popcorn and enjoy the forum drama after each major flaw. I want a clean game.

    Program could be:

    1. Major exploit 3000 dollars

    2. 2000 dollars

etc. Its sounds high for some people, but its very cheap way, since you do not need employees and play them salary. But you only need a reward thats good enough to give the player who discover bugs/exploit to report it and cash in, instead using it himself. Ofc. their black market. but this initiative could do some damage control.

Ridiculous conspiracy theory. There is no way this ban wave would even be a blip on the radar of Diablo III's sales. Look at the sales figures for 2014 - RoS was the #3 selling PC title of the year, even the base Diablo III box was still the #6 seller. Banning a few thousand exploiters to try to boost sales of something that is selling millions a year still anyway? Insane.

nr. 3 and 6 place? not good enough. even if the game is "old" and exspansion 1 year old. Indeed is selling well, is a known fact.

But lets say 200.000 get banned and 80 % will buy a new licence 40 dollars = 6.400.000 dollars is a good number, with little effort. Do not understimate the owners. The results on the button line counts. providing a profit of 6 million dollars without doing much is a very good move. That many cheeseburgers! or donuts!

The patches is free, but is a win-win for them to continues keep the community strong until they release new exspansion. + damage control from D3 vanilla different ideas how the game should be. 2.2 is a right steps. am very satified.

The exploit was so clear to me is daunted me this morning on how on earth it could happen. and the answer is money.

    Is not insane, is madness!

as a former QA, I can say it is impossible to test everything.

For example a bug may happen only if the characters has a certain item equipped.

And the mob is killed with a certain skill.

While under the effect of a certain debuff.

    In a particular map.

    etc.

But this is a well known clever use of mechanic move? seems to me they not very good organised or have a good work routine?

Because the idea bout the known exploit is a very known move if you can call it that way. But ofc people can have a bad day.

But in the end, is about the money they earn from this "released exploit tempting people to use it". That secure a pay raise for Blizzards :)

No i do not smoke weed or take any drugs ;).

I also feel sorry for Wyatt Cheng communication strategy about the trials issue. Nice try, giving us positive information. Then booom a nuclear bomb shutsdown the communication and over shadow it.

But this is not a prove that Blizzard did not conspire to cash in on the ban wave that has to come. Is a clever double side moves. Like USA go to war in vietnam + same time people protest against the war = win - win in communication.

Well ofc conspiracy theory are hard to discover because they very subtle ;)

They might just have a quite bad QA lab. There is no 'exploit team' I suppose, just a bunch of testers inside QA Lab doing their job.. and they probably are doing their job badly. They just got lazy because they think PTR will do enough testing and they probably shrinked their QA. But let us be honest - good QA lab is filled with professional people that should find every single bug there is, there is no better testing. Not a PTR or any kind of 'beta release' can replace QA Lab. They just wanted to save some cash and that is how it ended. Good that they need to keep some compliance engineers for console submissions, otherwise there would be console PTRs and fuckload of bugs ;o

So the QA lab need to feel the whip and urgency? Because truly the kids under/around 18 cant not resist the temptation. So a suspension would be good. But now that Mannercookie is perm banned, you cant do speciel treatment? He did it for 3-4 hours. some did it for a week. where you draw the line?

Ind the end is all about money. Is a win-win situation for Blizzard. Since now they able to put their foot down + earning some money because they know people would buy new license.

QA lab. Serius they should have a "exploit moves list" Bounty exploit have happen/or clever use of bounty + Greater rift outsite and inside world. And key stones. Since some famous monk and other stream showing the recycle keys and in the past rift forward people get use to "clever use of mechanic" and where is the grey zone? Now Blizzard had to act, since this is a major one.

Good luck to the communication and damage team :)

So before i start i would thanks Blizzard for 2.2 its really improving the game alot. Also i did not use the exploit an have never being banned from a game. I also have being Raid leader/officer in wow and admin on a CS:S server, so i have a little knowledge from the other sight, how you handle and view this kind of behavior. Blizzard have being too lenient.

Cheating all kind is disrupting other peoples feelings. Is not about the damage is about the signal.

I do feel for the competitive players who felt they need to use the exploit to compete. An if Mannercookie is banned, and the other people do not get banned i be very surprise and that will undermine the Blizzard integrity.

Its actually Blizzard own fault with not have laying down the "law" harsher in the past. Several ex. and streamers stream without getting banned. Remember the Hive bounty exploit?

Also the rift forward things with blood shard is clever use of mechanic, that is a grey zone. And people get use to the "clever use of mechanic".

But suddently after eating my breakfeast today i thought that is can not happen that this truly is not possible that the Developer are able to do such a error. Because if you think about it, am sure Blizzard got a Exploit team. And this exploit does not require serious steps. There has being several bounty related exploit exsperimentation.

The only reason i seing this big one going out now is:

    1. Blizzard need to deliver stronger sales this year to keep please their owners. By sending out such a clear exploit, their want to make a huge ban wave and cash in when people buy new lisence. They knew many would be tempted.

    2. They want to clean up and put their foot down and say enough is enough.

    3. If its not a conspiracy damm no more donuts to the exploit team.

    4. update: Spend more money on QA team.

    5. Rift Gurdian Choker stuck will be fixed "soon".

    6. D3 is so big a game with alot of content its so hard to test everything. even if the exploit events/pattern was known.
