If I find the time I'd be happy to add the information. Lots of details in the old threads to search through though, so I might not get around to it till I find the motivation.

Just watched The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920).

Pretty awesome silent film. Allegedly the first film to use the unreliable narrator and twist ending. Possibly the first full length horror film. If you're into the history of film it's a must see.

I believe you're correct Siaynoq. There was ranking of the legion commanders too. Something like

    1. Silver
    2. Elfen
    3. Carl
    4. Thasador
    etc.

I've been thinking about SICK a bit today just to see if I could remember anything else and here's what I got.

Near the beginning of its existence it seems Silver and Elfen would let anybody in, so there was people with one post who would be part of the clan and they'd never come back. This led to the creation of Carloseus' Slayers I believe, which consisted of the most active of members as well as Assassins (which I believe was Thasador's legion) which had a lot of active members. Over time even these active members became inactive though. There was an even smaller portion who played D2 regularly, which consisted of Ferret, Bambi, me, Caliban, Siaynoq and maybe a few others that I can't place. That group of people decided to make their own split from SICK really, which had two names if I recall correctly, one was Rebel and one was Sentinels (not sure what order). (Also I don't think Siaynoq was a part of the split. He might not have been playing at the time, and probably wouldn't have concerned himself with it anyway, he's much too relaxed about everything.) After that I'm not sure but I think inactivity by the main forum members finished SICK off.

I was a bit of a late comer to SICK but was definitely a part of it, notably I played with Bambi and Ferret quite a bit on Diablo 2. I don't think Thasador was actually the leader of Slayers...he may have been the leader of another group of SICK members, that's the only possible correction I can find. I'm assuming you want details mostly elaborating on the origins or something to that extent, which I can't help you with.

EDIT: The official title for SICK might have actually been Silver's Inferno Crusading Knights. Once again, not 100% sure since I was less the role player and more one of the ones who played D2.

    I just watched Casino.

Really good film in a lot of ways, but could use more focus. Very similar to Goodfellas in style.

just because you can win or lose dsnt make it to competetive play.
    Competitive
Having or displaying a strong desire to be more successful than others.

If you can win or lose, then there are varying degrees of success. And if you want to win, then it fits that definition for competitive.

posted a message on How do you feel about only 4 people in party?
If I remember correctly, many of the videos we've seen feature long narrow bridges, or areas similar to that. And thinking back to maggot lair...8 players was just a pain. Not saying that bridges are quite maggot lair, but they're certainly more funneled than the open spaces of many of the acts in Diablo 2. So this might also be something that affected their decision, or at the very least, makes it look like a better decision.

EDIT: Re-reading my post, maybe it doesn't make much sense, but hopefully it does.

I hope all classes will be relatively close in effectiveness, assuming they're built in clever ways for farming. I doubt that will be the case of course, but it'd be nice if it was.

It's not a 'restriction', that's just how it is designed to be. Would you call 8 people per game in D2 a restriction? I wonder why are they restricting D2 so much and how does that restriction not make it suck... Were you making a point or something?
Yes, 8 people per game in D2 is a restriction. But restricting players on an MMO just does not make sense. Why bother with an MMO if that's going to be the case?

I don't understand a fascination for the idea of being able to solo every boss in the game.
Unfortunate, but I like games that I can play single player as well. I guess that's why a Diablo MMO is so unappealing to me.

    Quote from "Dimebog" »
Because there needs to be a balance. You can't just put a hundred idiots and let them see if they can kill a boss if they spam their skills fast enough. Normal party size in WoW is 5 people. Raid groups are balanced for 10 and 25 people for different content.
So putting a 5 person restriction creates a balance? How is that going to make a Diablo MMO worthwhile and not suck?

as i read in your posts - you really defend Blizzard.
anyway - some "ppl" toughts should be taken really carefully , and with try to find the point inside it.
I have no idea what you're trying to say.

And how is it scary when you are hanging with 8 people? They could still limit the party size to 5 or so people.
But at least you could do it by yourself in D2. In an MMO Diablo, that would not be an option. And restricting the party size is kind of redundant for an MMO. Why would you need an MMO if there's a limit on the number of people you can interact with? Just look at the name Massive Multiplayer Online.
