Wait, so the overwhelming feedback was that Grifts were fun on low levels until they become really boring at high levels (due to the astoundingly lazy design of simply ramping up health and damage.) Blizzard reads this feedback and then implements a system to take away those few fun levels and put you straight into the snorefest?
Seriously?
If you were going to go to the effort to make a whole new mode just to set up rift difficulty, why didn't you spend the time making rifts actually interesting instead?!

Jun 25, 2014vanillacape posted a message on 2.1 PTR Datamined: New Item Passives, Stash Space, Greater Rifts, Official Patch notes, and MoreIs it just me, or are the class changes mostly buffing primaries, and the majority of the secondaries being buffed are the ones that are already strongest for each class? Don't really care about OP vs not but I'm not seeing all that much suggestion of build diversity from these notes (obviously there is some but very little compared to what was expected.)Posted in: News

For me personally, I have felt like the drops are lower (but not blaming Blizz for that) but then I realised that during the buff week I was playing as much as possible to make the most of the time and so doing many more rifts etc. than I typically do in one sitting regularly, and that it generally evens out when you add them all together. -

From the datamined code bonuses posted a few days ago, I'm going to assume it's the thing with double drops and guaranteed drop within an hour of logging in, so I'd say no. But that is a complete guess based on the idea that they'd be too lazy to change two different parts of code, and I hope that it does work on Kadala.Quote from HipopotamoDoes it double chances from KAdala as well? - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Do people really wait until they get to exactly 500 before shopping?
I gamble after every rift and the new price system is awful. Before you might wind up with 4 left, now you can end up with up to 24 unspendable shards which feels crap.
I realise objectively it's better now for getting loot, but it feels crappy.

On topic, M6 is kind of retarded, but then each class always seems to have one broken build that allows them to compete and that they're worthless without. Would it really be better if they halved all the ridiculous 6pc/broken builds right now so that more builds were viable but everyone took a huge step back in doable content?
I do like that I can actually aim to get the build now; it's not just a "play til you win the lottery" like getting a Wand of Woh or do nothing. There need to be more good sets, but I like the idea of sets on the whole.

Has anyone else noticed this happening?
It seems like a really dumb change. Who opens their stash thinking that they don't want to see their main items? Why would you go to the effort to add code to make something annoying that needed no code at all? Or is it a bug with the extra tab code? I don't get it.

What is max CDR? Because I'm at 49% and while I don't have them yet, nothing would stop me putting in any or all of the Tal's pieces right now.
Also, OP, not saying this to criticise but to help: set boni is not a thing. It's set bonuses.

Now using 2pc Akkhan + 2(3)pc aug + 2(3)pc crimson with magefist cinder, rorg+soj or unity. I'd like to be able to ditch the crimson set and shuffle things around for an andarial's, but rng is rng and all that, and I'm already down to 36% cdr which makes me sad. Overall though I feel a lot more effective with this setup using gryf+jek fire.
Whether the shield is actually necessary for fire is another story. I think it does more damage on groups, but you already do insane damage on groups and the shield doesn't return ping the way Shattered does. I'd probably swap it out for an Akarat's if I had one, while keeping the Gryf because endless shields are fun.
Does Holy Cause have an internal cooldown? It seems okay with just HF, but I didn't notice a big improvement when I was using Shattering as well. Maybe it's just how healing works compared to the damage of T4, but it wasn't exactly life changing and I got much more out of making the effort to walk to a health globe :/

Just got my 5pc bonus, so I'll start testing holy since I can't use my cindercoat or magefists right now anyway. I can't give up 95% uptime on AC, if only for the CC immunity.
Also my issue isn't not being able to combine fire and sets (that's fine) my issue is that there is no alternative to the Cindercoat for other elements and they said it's just flavour stats when it's clearly so build changing, but only ever for fire. Stick 10% cost reduction to holy on a belt, 15^ lightning on gloves, whatever, and it would open up many more builds for all classes.
I've tried falling sword, and while it's great for repositioning/shortcuts, I feel that you need harringtons + a big 2h to make any real use of it. Our builds are using fast 1h so falling sword damage becomes mediocore, and in the time it's in the air I can easily do as much with shields. For fire, your best options seem to be bows+horsey passive, or HF+cause for the heal. At least you get some sort of synergies going that way.

Other benefits include fantastic AC synergy with Fire Starter, fast horsey becoming a surprisingly damaging attack (as well as transport and ohsht button.) You even get great synergy with Punish:Roar if you're a masochist and want to melee things instead of flinging shields (to be fair I do still wind up in melee a lot because it's just faster so someone might like the counterattack.)
The only thing fire doesn't really have is a good secondary single target spell. I've been bouncing between the holy beam of death + cause and bowmen (phys but 20% dmg with short mount speed) but it would be even better with fire archers (why are there no fire archers?) Obviously holy has really really good synergies too, but fire isn't lacking right now.
Also there is way more fire gear available than holy (although this becomes a bit moot if you switch to 6pc, since it kills 2-3 20% fire slots.) (Thank you Blizzard design team for not understanding how your own itemisation works -.-) Obviously it depends on what gear you have, but if you have a ton of fire gear, Combust is in no way "bad".

I've tried it with an average Maximus and it felt about the same in overall damage, but having to be careful with positioning and wrath compared to flinging a hundred billion burning shields isn't really my style. Also you can play pure range if it gets hairy since you have unlimited shields.

Heaven's Fury is for holy cause healing and because I still can't find anything better for additional single target damage that doesn't make me stop flinging shields.

I was using a 1h with Fervor and all Blessed Shield (which I kept because no Piro right now and I prefer Shield's aoe and range) but swapped out Glare(wrath gen) for Bombardment and oh my what you do to elite packs is funny. I should probably use the crit law but I find 50% reduced cost more useful than going from 300->400% crit for a few seconds of burst. Maybe with a Piro and bash gear this will change, not sure.
My Mortal Drama is reallly low damage (2400ish and I had a 2400 1h already) and I was really worried about losing the CDR but I'm pretty sure the net result has been killing things even faster, to the point where I need to go up a difficulty because elites die so quickly.
