Wait what? That doesn't even remotely make sense. You're saying that giving someone an unnecessary advantage is a good thing?

We're not weighing the difference between maphacks and something more sinister. Any program that's designed to give one player an unfair advantage over another should not be tolerated. Period.

Well.. if you really feel the need to twist A in order to make it equal B go right ahead. I said it did not have negative effects, not that it was good. There progress does not effect your progress. While at the same time you gain more experience when you don't cheat, which is your advantage, not theres. The only negative situation this puts you in is if you are facing another player, which I would not do if there is a 30 level difference.

Which you are right, blizzard should be trying to stop hacks period. But that's never really worked... if anything I would hope they work against more dangerous hacks compared to the less damaging ones. At the sametime... Equinox's idea about making the hack less viable is probably the best road to stop people from using it. No one is going go through the dungeon if there not really going to get anything from it. So hopefully adding benefits to clearing the dungeon, killing the monsters, finishing the quest, will make using the hack less and less of a positive for the individual player.

^ exactly. Along with the fact the basis of the lesson was very much partisan. Meg turns into a strong christian, brain turns atheist, entire town suddenly goes mid-evil on him and treats him like a criminal. Meg joins a book burn, Brain tells her the lesson and that all she needs to believe in herself, and that if there was a god why would she be so ugly and abused all the time, etc, etc.

I don't really find that one of there better... lessons.

It ruins the intended leveling speed. Compare how quick someone with maphack does things compared to someone without.

That may be BS, it may suck for you because you did the game right and the other person who cheated is much farther ahead, but it does not have negative effects you compared to something that may allow someone to steal a item from you.

Maphack is very useful when trying to get to a certain area, but at the sametime it does take away some of the fun of just exploring and wondering whats in the darkness beyond the door that probably holds a killer spider. But personally, im more worried about the hacks that allow other people to steal items and such rather than a harmless map hack.

That was just an example of how character development sucks in shows like Family Guy. Sure, you see Stewie get progressively gayer and gayer, but you can only push that so far until you piss someone off.

Character development in a cartoon is hard to do. You see it a lot in South Park because they learn a lesson at the end of each show. In Family Guy, you seldom see it because of how spontaneous and sporadic the humor is. There isn't enough room for someone to learn a lesson. The last time I saw someone learn a lesson in Family Guy was when Meg turned Christian and was proved wrong by Brian.

I would hardly call that a lesson, ohh making out all Christians to be book burners, that is a wonderful lesson! But onto the actual topic at hand. Characters don't need to learn lessons, and family guy does not need to change its style of humor, all it needs to do is slowly, but surely, have the characters develop, or just change environment. Family guy has already done it in some cases, New neighbors moved into the neighborhood, Peter changes Jobs, Meg learns to drive, Bonnie has the baby. Those all contributed to later shows and funny moments. Just like if you had Stewie go into pre-school.

In shows like Family Guy you don't need the full on development and changing that you see in other shows, but you still need minor changes and gradual shifts that can bring up new situations.

That's basically the same concept of The Cleveland Show and that fuckin sucked. I can't believe he actually has a show, it's not even funny and the bear... wft?!

Hey, I didn't say anything about her getting a spin off... :P

Well thats the point of family guy and many others shows, the characters just dont grow up or get older. Seriously wtf would be the point if they did, do you really care what a 25 year old bart does or a 55 year old homer.

Well I don't know.. maybe after a 100 episodes a couple things should change in order to see how the characters interact as they get older and get into new environments. Imagine stewie in kindergarten, having to go to school, Peter and Lois suddenly getting more alone time together, Meg finally going to college. It's either that or what were currently seeing, which is running out of ideas and just turning into pointless lowered humor.

All I wish with family guy is that it would just stop being so fricken random and finally have some development. Have stewie grow up, go into Kindergarden, Meg can go to College, etc etc. The biggest thing that has ever happened in the show is, She finally had the baby, and that Cleveland left. Southpark isn't much better.. it's gotten worse in some cases, but southpark can still at least have 'semi-recent' episodes.

I think it was so so. Funny, good, but not the best either. I think both shows are rather even in terms of humor. Though this does prove how south park is much better at doing more current events. Then again, thats just ignorant :P.

Personally, I wouldn't, at least not until the release date is released. Partly because Im paranoid when it comes to anything involving me spending money on the internet. But there is probably nothing wrong with ordering it now.

posted a message on Inactive character deletion??
I think we should keep the deletion. Like others have said, it both saves space, and it makes names available for other people. Who knows, maybe they can save the Character for up to 12 months, but after 3 months the name becomes available for others, if your name is taken, just choose a new one and blam, you can play again. But after 12 months your gone for good.

I personally don't care for something like that, but it could work for some people...

The new family guy episode was defiantly one of the best in a long long time... but ill reserve ultimate judgment when the first episode of south park appears.
