posted a message on Diablo III at Gamescom 2010
Last years Gamescon did not reveal the female monk, the monk hadn't been revealed to that point. The female monk was shown in an internet web series, I forget it's name. My guess is that we will see a limited version of their Blizzcon demo planned for October, most likely a new area. There are a number of possibilities as to what they will reveal but most would probably agree with me in that the revamped and most likely final iteration on the resource system won't be what is revealed because that is not a game feature of terrible interest, unlike what Bashiok seems to be indicating that what is being announced is of high interest. If it is an in-game feature I wouldn't be surprised to see the PvP system revealed.

It is all a guessing game, but when you look at it this way sixteen months makes sense. Blizzcon is in October and if the beta is announced then, which I doubt, the beta would start one or two months from then in November/Decemberish. The beta testing cycle based on what we saw with Starcraft 2 and just how Blizzard operates will take approximately 6 months, bringing us to a early-mid summer release as a best case scenario (April-May).

What is more likely is a beta announcement sometime in early 2011 (January to March) and the testing actually starting around February to April. If testing were to start in April and end six to seven months from then the game would be released in the holiday season of 2011. Which is roughly sixteen months from now. So logically it makes sense to me anyways lol.

Blizzard has made it very clear that Diablo 3 will NOT be released in 2010. I'm not trying to be a Debby Downer, this is just a fact. Fortunately though beta should be starting relatively "soon" (five to eight months) and a release date somewhere around ten to sixteen months from now is realistic. Note those dates are merely my best guesses based on the information I've observed about the games progress.

If you do not know this as a gamer you should, video game retailers will guess and announce their own release dates for games in attempt to boost sales for their own gains, they will have employees also use word of mouth to ignite sales and game interest (as was the case in this instance). The only source that you can be 100% sure in is Blizzard itself.

posted a message on Gay Marriage
The only object I believe to be significant in marriage is its symbolization of love, that being said I do not find it to be a necessary event. It is an old outdated tradition that is walked all over, if two people love each other that is all that matters. To bind yourself to another person for any kind of benefits, with love being put aside, is a sick act in my opinion.

posted a message on Let's Watch
Initially what gets me excited is that this game oozes with the feeling that it was created by Blizzard and that it's obviously the Diablo franchise. This impression comes off from the first second of footage. Then after all the obvious things that other people have listed I would say the fact they seem that have improved so vastly on the most boring part of the game. Replaying through old environments. It looks as if this is improved by the more action packed gameplay style and the addition of random events. It does not seem very easy to get bored with your Barb flying around squashing shit (unlike in Diablo 2 where your barb's only "cool" ability is whirlwind and that skills isn't acquired until level 30) and going on new adventures that you haven't done yet even though it's your ten millionth time playing through.

posted a message on Blizzcon 2010 Surprise
Most people in their right minds would probably be fairly pissed off because a sixth class means about four to eight months added development time. So why push back the release to definitely 2012 instead of doing things as they "seem" scheduled and release other classes in expansions. On the other hand this seems like a troll topic so I do not know why I am taking this seriously.

Looks like Assassin's Creed or whatever the name of the game is. Haven't played it but that image seems to remind me of that game.

Well if this is legit and you've contacted Blizzard, then Arreat Summit should be updated sometime soon for a real confirmation.

posted a message on Is Time Linear?
Because time is perceived I believe that it can be manipulated in a way. Whether that is tangible manipulation based on the theory that time is flexible within our "dimension" or that it exists in the reality of our minds and it is able to be manipulated within ourselves. By this I mean that we may have the ability to change our perception of time based on the moment we are viewing. Instead of moving in a linear direction as we do, perhaps we hold the ability somewhere in our minds to view any moment that exists. This would seem to demonstrate that time is a circle and not a line. That obviously raises a lot of questions, but I feel the majority of the question that we have on time and space comes from how we use numbers. Specifically the idea of infinity. If we view the value of infinity and use it as a definite point (because it is a value) then there is no such thing as a line really, in terms of numbers anyways, but only a circle that never ends. Odd. This idea applied to space and time, and if time is cyclical or linear specifically, it may be that it is both. This in conclusion may demonstrate that we are yet to use the full capability of our minds or that our number system which actually exists only in our minds is a paradox and thus everything that we base off of it or is influenced by it (logic, reason, science) all are untrue in some ways and it is the reason that we have so many things misunderstood or unknown. But that is just what I thought of off the top of my head.

posted a message on Music of Diablo III
Another thing you may notice about the music in the Diablo franchise is that it mirrors its representative culture. By this I mean that when you look at an area in Diablo 2 specifically the towns, the theme you hear is very fitting to how we see that culture they are portraying in reality. This creates a sense of realism and immersion. Then the dark and creepy atmospheric music you hear in the dungeons definitely sets a tone of an oppressing and foreboding area, this was done very well in Diablo 1. I assume the music we will hear in Diablo 3 will use the techniques used in all of Blizzards previous titles especially the dark heavy atmospheric music of Diablo 1 and the immersive themes of Diablo 2 to make a game that sounds absolutely amazing.

posted a message on Female Monk Update
I too like the bigger shoulder armor and I like the overall design of the female monk. I really like Blizzards take on Diablo 3's character art for all of the classes, making it sort of realistic and stylized.
