That link definitely is interesting, and I'll definitely bookmark it for when my Monk is better.

On a side note, seeing how you play a Crusader, have you ever tried a Crusader Support build? (A friend of mine swears by Crusader Support builds for some reason.)

Thank you for the thorough explanation.

I'll slowly begin to gear my Monk in that case, because as it stands at the moment I'm doing at least 40% of the damage in my group (Can spike to about 60%, depending on how good the geared Wizard and I play).

So assuming that both the WD and Monk are geared equally AND good enough to do their jobs, the Monk would add more to a group?

(The Monk isn't geared at the moment, but so are two others of the group, so until they start to shoot for T6 I got the time to gear my Monk.)

    Hello,

After having joined a clan, I'm finding myself running coop more often than not. The group I primarily play with (>95% of the time) consists of 2 Wizards and 1 Barbarian. I fill the 4th spot as a WD.

Now my question is, how much would a pull/support Monk add to the group? Would it be enough to justify losing the damage I do on my WD (I'm #1 or #2 on the damage, depending on how much attention I pay)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

posted a message on WD synergy in coop
    Hello,

After getting more clan members, I've been running mostly coop games lately as a Pet Doctor. With my games having become mostly coop games now, I was wondering if it was actually beneficial to keep running as a (Pet) Doctor. The group I usually play with consists of 1 or 2 Wizards and 1 or 2 Barbarians + me as a WD at the moment (it's either 2 Wizards and 1 Barbarian or 1 Wizard and 2 Barbarians, with none of them running a (semi-)support build (there are no Monks or Crusaders ever)).

Seeing how my current build (http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#blTUPY!WRdT!aYbabc) doesn't add anything to the group but the 15% damage increase from Piranhas, I thought it might be better to switch to a different build (or class).

After fiddling around a bit with the talents and abilities I've come up with this build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#WhjklQ!XhTc!YaYYYb

To me it seems this build would work quite well for a support WD, since it adds the following:
    - A 20% mob damage reduction through Bad Medicine (Addling Toads, Locust Swarm, and Piranhas all deal poison damage)
    - A chance to confuse enemies with Addling Toads (I'd have to get Rhen'ho Flayer for this to be even better)
    - An 80% slow on Locust Swarm due to the belt which adds that effect to Locust Swarm
    - A temporary 20% damage increase on mobs with Mass Confusion - Paranoia (coupled with Tribal Rites and Grave Injustice the cd shouldn't be too long)
    - A near constantly 15% damage increase from Piranhas - Wave of Mutilation
    - A 20% AS/30% damage increase cooldown in the form of Big Bad Voodoo - Slam Dance

Now I'm wondering if this build would be beneficial to the group or if I'm better off playing a pet or Jade build for their damage or rolling a Monk/Crusader for a support role.

(PS: Any suggestions to increase the usefulness of this build and, in the case that rolling a different class would be better, any advice on whether to go Monk or Crusader would be more than welcome (although I'll ask both the Crusader and Monk forums about their opinion regarding that matter as well).)

Binnes, the yellow ring is only there because I haven't found anything better yet (rings refuse to drop for me it seems).

I've tried rerolling to crit chance on my mojo and crit on my neck , but when my souls ran out the only useful affix was a socket.

I'm working on getting a better RoRG at the moment (1 with int and crit chance or crit damage).

After running out of souls I have no way to enchant crit chance onto my bracers.

And after spending 14 souls on my helmet, crit chance still hasn't popped up (had the same with my TaT), so I had to settle for Life%.

So most of these things can be fixed once I get some souls again. And won't the sockets on the ring/neck be useful once legendary gems are introduced in 2.1?
And if I know which of the 2 set bonuses is better, I know whether to try and craft good pieces of Asheara's or enchant/gamble for good Jade Harvester pieces (and thereby being able to use the souls for enchanting).

Thanks for verifying my thoughts of having to get crit on as many pieces as possible :)

    Hello,

After finally getting both TaT and Moj, I'm at a loss what gear to shoot for next.

This is my current gear: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kesar-2292/hero/44815967

I'll be replacing the yellow ring with TMF, my mojo with Ukhapian Serpent (or Thing of the Deep if the damage is manageable), and my weapon with whatever, better weapon Blizzard decides to give me.Now I'm wondering whether it's better to keep 2 piece Jade Harvester (which is worth 500 int + 50 all res) or switch the pants/shoulders out for Asheara's Custodian and Asheara's Pace (which is worth 100 all res (or rather 50 if compared to Jade Harvester's bonus) and 20% life).

Switching to Asheara's would ease the damage intake, thus allowing me to equip Thing of The Deep, but I'm not sure whether that's worth losing 500 int (losing the 50 all res is of no consequence, because Asheara's gives me 100 all res).

Is there an experienced WD who could give his or her opinion on this matter?

    Thanks in advance.

If that would be true, how would the achievement be possible? Don't the new sets drop in their place? And you can't stay level 60 anymore, thereby lowering the chance to get a full set in case the old one still drops.

    Hello,

I'm trying to complete the achievement "Sets Appeal", but I've had no luck finding someone with any of the full sets so far.

In return for providing me with the set for the achievement (which you'll of course get back) I can open a number of rifts for you (up to 40 with my current key fragment stash) and/or powerlevel a character through T6 boosting.

WDKyruk, I'm planning on rerolling chest/pants, but lately my Forgotten Soul farming has been having bad luck (going 3 hours without a single legendary and so on). My previous weapon was a voodoo knife without any useful stats or affixes at all, so this one was at least, as you already put it, a not too bad starter weapon. Since I'm gambling for Mask of Jeram, it seems to me that it'd be useless to spend precious Forgotten Souls on my current helmet.

Is AS really not important in a pet build? A WD I play with every now and then swears by AS over Crit chance/dmg.

Ty for taking the time to help me :)

Mediocre, that was exactly what I was thinking, but due to my friends being persistent that they were right, I started to have my doubts. And I was indeed planning on enchanting the chest and legs for sockets, but the old Forgotten Soul crisis is back. Getting crit chance on TandT and a socket on my Crusader's weapon are costing me all my souls at the moment.

Would the sockets on the chest and legs outweigh getting crit chance on TandT?
And I'm first trying to get Mask of Jeram before going higher than T2 solo. Without it my killing speed is a bit slow.

Ah sorry, forgot to link my characters page, but thanks for the initial help. Here it is after all: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kesar-2292/hero/43977334

Gear isn't really that good (gotten quite some set pieces, but all were either from various sets or duplicates) and a good Legendary Mojo/MoJ still refuses to drop. Seeing how I'm only running T1/T2 at the moment, I can stay within 20 yards for Grave Injustice to take effect. And survivability for me or my pets ain't a problem at the moment, but I assumed that 11% cdr wasn't worth losing 20% life over

I switched out my socketed helm this morning for the Carnevil that's currently showing (it was worth 10% more sheet dmg at the cost of a few % toughness), with the socketed helm being the Jade Harvester helmet (the Jade helmet only has 684 int and a socket for damage purposes, the other stats are either for toughness or healing). I'll try to get a socket on the Carnevil helmet once I get some more Forgotten Souls (TandT is using them at the moment in hopes of getting crit chance % on them).

    Hello,

On my Witch Doctor I'm running a pet build (http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#WlTUQY!VRWT!bb.abc) which includes Gargantuan and Big Bad Voodoo and Grave Injustice to shorten the cooldowns (with Zombie Dogs being a summon, it not important for my question).

At the moment I'm running with an amethyst gem in my helmet (the + life% gem), but some of my friends say that a diamond gem would be much better (the cdr gem). Seeing how my pets get tougher too with an amethyst gem, I don't think they're right (but I might as well be wrong, being a not too experienced WD).

So my question is, is it better to use an amethyst or diamond gem with my build?

    Thanks in advance.

posted a message on Question regarding Fury builder abilities
    Hello,

    At the moment I'm running the following build: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato/barbarian#.hlURk!Ydeh!.cabac (*Open skill*/Whirlwind - Volcanic Eruption/Avalanche - Volcano/Sprint - Marathon/Battle Rage - Marauder's Rage/War Cry - Impunity as active abilities and Weapon Master/Bloodthirst/Superstition/Unforgiving as passive abilities.)

Even though I've managed to decide on these five active and four passive abilities, I can't decide which Fury builder to use, so I'm hoping someone here can help me with this choice (or rather, see if my reasoning is right or wrong).
I've narrowed it down to one of the following three abilities:
    - Frenzy - Maniac
    - Bash - Punish
    - Bash - Pulverize

The first two are possibilities based on the rune effect (increasing my damage by X%, thereby increasing my Whirlwind damage(the Frenzy rune also turns the damage into Fire damage)) and the third is a possibility because it makes Bash deal Fire damage and adds an AoE component to Bash.

I'd assume that Bash - Punish is worse than Frenzy - Maniac, because the damage increase from Frenzy is higher (and Frenzy also deals Fire damage). (This would mean that Bash - Punish shouldn't be taken at all, but I could be wrong.)

If what I'm assuming here above is correct, it'd be a choice between Frenzy - Maniac and Bash - Pulverize.
At first glance Bash would seem better because it can hit multiple mobs, whereas Frenzy is strictly single target. However, the Fury generation of Frenzy is superior to that of Bash due to the 75% attack speed increase.
So, since I have Whirlwind already for AoE damage, would the increased overall damage and Fury generation of Frenzy outweigh the AoE component of Bash? Or would Bash - Instigation be even better than any of the other three?

I hope my question is clear and that someone can answer it (or offer me any other advice regarding my build for that matter (I know what stats on my gear I'm looking for from some other threads on here, so that doesn't need any clarification).

    Sincerely,
    Akonji
