They're just domain camping thinking that's what blizz might call the game meaning it most definately is not going to be called that. Or maybe that's just what they feel like calling their fan site.
How much of a bad ass do you feel like when you take down the Lord of fucking Terror singlehandedly? A pretty big one I would guess.
I don't feel like a badass anymore taking single-player bosses because it's made easy for the masses and it's not notable. No one but you sees you do it and at the end of the day everyone's done the same thing in their own little game so big deal. MMO's are much better for feeling badass. You can show off the gear to prove you downed something and then go rip someone's face off in battlegrounds with it. Single-play is dead. Besides just because it's an mmo doesn't mean they couldn't allow solo-able bosses and what a better way to feel like a badass being part of a community.
Perhaps the brand new blizard interviews might be of some clue "we are not even starting to think about making a sequel to wow, we have far to much planned for wow to even think about making a sequel to it"
An interview back in Sept discussing future development plans. I really don't think there's going to be any real news Monday with comments like this. The whole "diablo3 and sc ghost on monday" is enough to spark some speculation but it just sounds fictional by even by itself.
"GS: When do you think you’ll want to talk about what you’re doing next?
MM: Probably not for a long time."
If they were never planning on doing another diablo wouldn't they just say, "we don't do diablo anymore"? Why would they keep us guessing this whole and then just drop the ball? I wouldn't worry about whether or not it's coming eventually but as far as any upcoming news it could likely just be a question the interview askes not that blizzard has said they'll announce anything.

Yeah too bad the idea was initially shot down with SC 2 announcement. I'm sure ready for something new. I'm so at a stopping point in wow until expansion which sounds like more of the same anyway. Hellgate was a dissappointment and wow has messed me up for any SP rpg's like Witcher. I'm not to optimistic about future mmo releases like warhammer either.
As far as their next-gen mmo is there any reason to think they won't do a full sequel to WoW? I know that would make us scream but I'm so used to being disappointed at the lack of a diablo 3 announcement I'm more inclined to believe in this.
I think a diablo mmo would be cool but not likely... at least not like wow. It just doesn't have the content warcraft did unless they've really expanded the universe and story beyond what we know. Sure the classes are there and more could be added but what about factions and races? In war there were already about half a dozen races, two factions and all those race units for class ideas. In diablo it's just a few good guys fighting a horde of demons.
Also, I'm really not sure if they'd try to develope an entire mmo faction based on grotesque demons. I remember in the "making of" dvd for war them wanting the chars to remain humaniod and not some ridiculas thing so players could still identify somehow.
I think it will be diablo 3 with some great battlenet... mmo-like playing online with trading, maybe some arena style pvp or some other challenge. Maybe something more in line with the LOTR mmo where all races are on the same side with monster-play for pvp. I think the concept is boring but if it were diabloized probly not.
Only other possibility is a new franchise, which would be insane. I think the planet's rotation will change if they announce that.
