If you can res your party members what happens when a boss picks u up and bites your face off, then tosses you aside? Same mechanic or return to town cause u just got owned?

It's most likely equivalent to a normal death, just in a more extravagant way. If your resurrected, your head reattaches. That's my assumption.
What about after the siegebreaker kicked the dead body off of the screen? I am sure they removed that ability for human players tho haha.

I don't see it happening this year. Figure beta starts end of this month or at lastest end of sept. Beta runs 1-2 months we are now in October - December, then you have to do any last minute polishing and tweaks, then you have to market the game with a release date and collectors edition for pre-orders, then you have to create the CD's, then im sure I am missing other stuff and bam we are already in 2012 Jan or Feb, March at latest id say.

For a game to be an esport, skill has to be everything though. It doesn't matter if you can beat people with better gear who are bad. In an esport setting, everyone will be really, really good at the game. Everyone will be about as good as you. And then the guy with the better gear will win. Or the guy who lucked into a skill/rune setup that counters yours. Or the guys who lucked into a team comp that counters yours.
I know, and I am not looking for it to become an E-sport, I just want options for PvP both in arena and mid game.

I dont see what was so skillful about d2 pvp. Oh look I'm loaded in gear I win. Oh damn I dodged your attack you lost. It was honestly like a precursor to DOTA. Limited skills, mostly clicking, reaction time, gear, and juking. Hell, WoW pvp is more involved.(Flame me but its true). If you guys cared that much about being the greatest pvper ever, you would do it where the skill set needs to be higher.
You could be loaded in gear but if you don't know how to use your character anyone could beat you, that is what made Diablo special. People tend to think good gear = god at pvp which it doesn't in Diablo, it might in WoW but that game is nothing but gear and Auto aimed skills which means the skill level is pretty much low. You are saying WoW is better and more involved yet WoW doesn't have near the reaction time required for D2 pvp nor does it have juking or aiming factor. Diablo is like chess as WoW is to checkers.

I'm gonna flat out pretend this post wasnt meant to actually be serious. Its funny you say gear meant nothing in Diablo, when Diablo is ALL gear. Hell most all rpg pvp games is very very very heavy in the gear to skill ratio.

This is why games like SC2, quake, and such are actually played as esports, whereas not even wow is played as one anymore.

I played my fair share of Diablo. From Release till wow Release. I dont consider using a few hotkeys and dodging some attack the pinnacle of my competitive gaming history. Esp. since the majority of the battles were simply won by showing up in the best gear available at the time.

It was a blast yes. It was the first rpg pvp I had ever done. I plan on pvp being my endgame focus for D3. But I'm not gonna be delusional and biased and sit here and say in good faith diablo 2 pvp was the most skillful things I've had the priviledge of playing. It was some of the most fun pvp I've ever done, but the most fun does not equal the most skillful.

Most people think the things they are good at are the most skillful. Or the things they play. Case in point I went gambling this weekend. My stepdad ONLY plays 3 card poker because he thinks its more skillful then texas holdem. Simply because he actually wins on a 3 card poker table. When its not, its just more fun because hes good at it.

Just enjoy the pvp for what it is when it comes out. If you want to do something "skillful" there are a bunch other games where you will garner far more notariety being good at then diablo.
Nah im not joking. What other RPG or game bases your win on the ability to dodge attacks and aim your own? FPS? Fighter? Diablo has the elements to make it a great PvP game, WoW does not. Again if you think gear makes or breaks Diablo PvP then we can go and make some open battle.net characters, you can get your guy the best legit gear in the game and ill make a guy and go buy gear off charsi and ill be a lower level and I can show you that your gear doesn't mean jack compared to skill buddy. Anyone who says gear > skill in Diablo 2 simply wasn't good at PvP.

posted a message on Jay Wilson, PvP, who actually thinks like him.
    Quote from Conax

PvP will be my game of choice for sure. Nothing makes a game last longer than a good PvP system. Jay Willson mentioned in an interview that "they know that people would want to turn Diablo 3 into an e-sport" even though thats not what we want:P And if the majority want it to be an e-sport then i see no reason not to give it to them. People decide themselves if they want to PvP hardcore or softcore or w-ever they want to do. Nothing is forcing them to play in a competetive way so even if LMS is in the arena, people chose themselves if they want to go pro or play casually.

D3 wont live 1/3 of D2 if there is a shitty PvP system. Its just facts and no matter what PvE content they have, it wont keep you satisfied for 10 years. PvP keeps games alive. How many players would Blizzard lose if they just removed anything and everything within PvP in WoW?
This is 100% true. If I don't get 1v1 PvP and only team PvP like Guildwars this game will last till I beat it and then it will vanish. Such an easy and simple mode to add and yet they haven't yet? Could care less about last man standing honestly, high level PvP will implement their own rules where when you die sit in the corner anyway. Would like more options tho, or just ditch the dumb arena in first place and give us duels in regular games back, instead of being so scared of the big bad pk.

Actually word is that they are gonna push it back a few more decades because the technology has advanced to far and they just arn't happy with the current product. They are gonna go for a more medieval look and implement more PvP options, also they believe the WD just is not panning out so instead of having any ties with the cast related to him now they are going to make 5 all new classes.

Blizzard is totally so incompetent they could not make a trade gametype with a higher maximum player count, right?
    Never know with them haha.
I don't see them doing that tho, the AH kinda replaces that niche. If you still want to haggle and wheel and deal then 4 player limit is fine. Most trade games ended up with people AFK or leveling or dueling anyway.

posted a message on Name System
Did some searching, this should clear it up:

"It is more like this format.

    name.surname

On the name part you put your usual nickname that you use. On the surname part you out some word that differentiates you apart form the other people using the same name.

Imagine if there are three people who want their nick to be Gandalf. Now there can be three people named Gandalf they will just have different surname parts.

    Gandalf.Wiz
    Gandalf.Thor
    Gandalf.Gandalf

In game only the first part of the name is shown. The other part is visible everywhere else.

And then above all that there will be a profile that you will be able to make called RealID where you can put your true name and such that is private and only people that you confirm as your friend can access that info."

No it wont be the same naming system, it will be the same as in D2 most likely....
Wrong. Evidence naming system is same
In the TLDR section we have this : "Character naming system is exactly like SC2's. Name#XXX."
Which I gather as you can name your character whatever you want, but you might not be the only one with that name. You will be numbered but you won't see the number. Could be wrong tho, haven't played Starcraft in a bit.

posted a message on Normal, Nightmare, Hell and INFERNO
In situations like this, some analytical skills are needed & basically, thinking is needed as well.
Right cause I had no idea about any of this? Anything else I need to know? I was kinda wondering, what character classes there are and is there PvP or how many acts. Can you fill me in buddy? I am r so lost! I brought up the potions and skills and everything else to prove a point that nothing is safe in Diablo 3 because it is/was tradition, you obviously do not comprehend this so if it is hard for you to understand why not rewatch all of these interviews and watch them remove and replace tradition with newer systems.
The problem with your argument is that skill points were not removed to make the game dumber, they were removed because the skill point mechanic didn't work with the rest of the game. Runes are there to make the skill system more complex.
Right cause I said anywhere about making the game dumber right? We are talking about a traditional difficulty, which is only in common with what I used as an example by that fact that they are traditional features to Diablo 1 and 2 which coincides with your argument where you said they would be a fool to take out nightmare because it is traditional, again do you comprehend this?

Since there was a Normal & Nightmare difficulty level on the Beta content that the press were able to play, that simply means that's how it is.

Also, you mistake yourself in associating the difficulty mode settings of the system to the actual game play settings. These are 2 different things. If they change shit in game play doesn't mean they'll change custom with difficulty as facts, images & videos had already proven.
So for us loyal Blizzard fans, we keep our hopes up & we will continue to keep our hopes up as Blizzard had not failed in delivering games that we enjoy playing, contrary to whatever negative side remarks you may have buddy.
Riiiight, I forgot it is impossible for blizzard to give us old screen shots or show us a demo or beta that is outdated with their current release, silly me! You sit there and talk like you are the Diablo god of knowledge and that I am somehow not a loyal fan or am clueless, which is the farthest thing from the truth. My negative side remarks like what? That you responded poorly then got butt hurt that I called you on it nicely and then you scrambled to put together some make-shift argument over stuff I didn't even use in the form you are using?

AAAAAANNNNNNDD AGAIN I WILL REITERATE MYSELF! I do not think they are taking out Nightmare, I was merely looking for evidence that it existed and apparently it does/did. If anyone else does not understand this please let me know because I have no idea about anything Diablo related, I don't even know where I am, I thought this was GuildWars.

Look how long it took D2 to get to a relative balanced state.
I disagree here with this point. Diablo has always been balanced in a sense. No 1 class is overpowered, there is always a class or build that has an edge over another one. Diablo PvP is much like a fighting game in there are tier lists. Ele druid vs Hammerdin would be like a 8-2 matchup in Druid's favor. This is of course at high level play. Pally only gets the 2 by glitching game too with desynch, without it I would say it's a straight up murder, but the barbarian owns the druid, and the pally owns the barb.

I'm not trying to troll. It's a waste of everyones time.

Based on the Jay interview, so is discussing serious pvp and e-sporting D3.
Well it is a good thing Jay only makes the game and doesn't run the community, we do. Diablo PvP gets as serious as the community wants it to be. Does EVO happen because Capcom or Namco set it up, or does it happen because the community made it what it was? Don't get so blind by what a developer says, they are not the end all be all opinion. There was very much a live Diablo 2 PvP scene and there still is, it will flourish just as much if not more in Diablo 3, with or without Blizzards consent.
