posted a message on Wizard Looks Good in New Item Set
    Quote from Siaynoq

I hear ya, toma. I like the innovative ideas they're coming up with as well. But I would like something more in the realm of familiar. Something that really hearkens back to the original Diablo. I've been very supportive of the overall art direction and character design in D3. But I do hope for something a bit more classic looking.

The armor of this Wizard, while admittedly kind of cool looking, just seems a bit impractical in its own right. Or maybe there is just something excessive about it that reminds me a bit of the over the top kinds of armor you'd see in WoW.

I agree with Siaynoq. I've been waiting 8-9 years for this game. I understand that blizzard north left, and that these are mostly different developers, but try to keep it more traditional/classic looking. I just don't get that Gothic feeling that existed in the first two games (less so in D2). I think I read an interview recently that stated the end of the game looks nothing like the beginning, and isn't as 'pretty'. My only response is that I hope so.. and I can't wait to see it.

The new official Diablo III channel on YouTube is now live! Check out high-quality streaming versions of our cinematics, gameplay trailers, and in-game movies, including the brand-new caravan preview video. Make sure to come back often, as we will be adding even more video content in the future

    Also:
Next to the blog post is a picture named "pumpkin", a carving of Diablo. This is probably a reference to October, when Blizzcon is scheduled. Looking forward to this one!

posted a message on Activision and Blizzard Are One
Its not old news. It was discussed or "brought up" in December 2007. Blizzard made the announcement on their site today (6|10|08). See below:

    July 10, 2008
    Activision Blizzard Announcement

We're excited to announce that our planned team-up with Activision, first made public back in December 2007, is now a reality. All regulatory and shareholder approvals have been granted, meaning Blizzard Entertainment -- along with the other companies that made up Vivendi Games -- is now part of a new organization called Activision Blizzard.

While this transition doesn't impact our games, websites, personnel, day-to-day operations, or development philosophies, the combined resources of Activision Blizzard will make it easier than ever for us to deliver the best games possible to our players around the world. For more information, please check out our Activision Blizzard FAQ.

PS: Anyone else thinking of buying some shares?

posted a message on Φ Game Graphics - Please keep all DIII graphics discussion here
In the game-play video, the commentator says that the environment can and will be used to kill, or destroy enemies. He gives the example of the barbarian performing an attack against a wall, and the rocks falling on the top of the enemy creatures. So one might assume that perhaps they did use the engine you are referring to, or they created their own that could do the same thing. I did hear something about havok and Diablo3 before though, I can't remember anything right now though. lol

posted a message on Diablo3.com becomes Diablofans.com! Blizzard acquires diablo3.com.
The hype was created not just for the announcement, but to bring back people interested in the Diablo franchise. June 29th seems to be a promising date, and with the acquisition of the official diablo3.com domain name, it is to bring hope to those who have waited for any news 7+ years. Be happy with this latest bit of info, and don't scrutinize those who have tried to make the anticipation of diablo3 enjoyable. --seriously, its childish. Special thanks to Umaro, mockery, and Medievaldragon... and those who have put all of this together for us.

Hot Job – Foreign Language Game Tester

Blizzard Entertainment is looking for intelligent and highly motivated multilingual Game Testers to help test our upcoming computer and console games in French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
Take a look at the job posting here.

    Interesting to say the least?

So we definately know multiple games are in the works, including for both the computer and console(s).

posted a message on Next Gen MMO Job Openings
I don't actually play on private servers, I simply mentioned it for those who would be desparate. ;) In any case, I don't believe it is Diablo 3 that will be the "Next-gen" MMO. I think what their hinting at may be Starcraft: Ghost, or another franchise. Its really all just speculation, only time will tell. Im going to have fun reading these SinWar trilogy books in the mean time. =)

posted a message on Next Gen MMO Job Openings
Even if Diablo 3 is a MMO, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend money monthley. I know WoW has private servers you can play on for free that contain like 40-50 people. Maybe a Diablo 3 game would also do this... idk :(

posted a message on Diablo Possible announcement!
The only reason I would give this a chance is because its close to the release date of the last book in the Sin War Trilogy, and usually Mike like's to make an announcement when theirs a new game. But it just doesn't feel like the right place for Diablo 3 to be announced so Im not going to be that hopeful. I have a feeling it will be announced some time next year (2008), and released the following year (2009).

Im still wondering is there a site that will do a live coverage they have to do a live coverage too many things and too many poeple to miss it.

I said in another thread that I found this link:

    http://blizzplanet.com/content/world-of-sanctuary/

it contains that diablo head image that says "world of sanctuay" in it. Also as of 20-Aug-2007 14:06 a new image was added:

    http://blizzplanet.com/content/world-of-sanctuary/gamestar-leipzig.jpg

If you go to that image link, you will see a banner that says "FREE Live Stream".

    hope that helps. =)
