leland814 posted a message on 2.1.0 PTR Cold Barb is awesome!Agree to disagree all you want, it's your right to play fire. Telling others not to waste their time on a "sub Optimal" build because you feel Fire is better doesn't demonstrate WHY it is sub-optimal. A lot depends on what would be optimal... first for me would be group / solo play. Also, gearing choices. I'll show some quicky math on the new skill changes comparing Fire and Frost using the skill combo in my video:Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep
Fire Cleave - 150% (plus explosion or extra fury gen)
Fire Rend - 1100%, 17 Yard Range
Leap - Call of Arreat
Fire Earthquake - 5100% Damage
Fire Call of the Ancients - 360% Damage
Battle Shout - Blood Shed (20% splash damage on crits)
Frost Cleave - 150% (plus 10% damage from all sources)
Frost Rend - 1100%, 12 Yard Range (plus 10% damage from all sources)
Leap - Call of Arreat
Frost Earthquake - 4200% Damage (Plus perma-freeze for 8 seconds)
Frost Call of the Ancients - 180% Damage (Plus 10% Crit from all sources)
Battle Shout - Blood Shed (20% splash damage on crits)
If you factor in ONLY the 20% bonus from cleave and Rend, EQ would go up to 5040% Weapon damage, Cleave 180%, Ancients 216%, rend 1320%. 10% Crit would add more as well... plus in GROUP you are contributing to ALL damage done... Fire cannot do that.
Obviously, if you're going pure fire... you probably wouldn't bother with IK set, instead going Cindercoat / Magefist etc for the super high fire damage. So yes, you will do more damage solo... but they closed the gap quite a bit. In group play Frost will be much, much better than Fire. Synergy is huge when trying to farm T6 as a group. So it really depends on playstyle. The ability to pull, lockdown, buff group damage, and have a small army (especially with the new mighty weapon spawning additional ancients) makes Cold a great option for people to try out.
This post was never to say Cold is better than Fire... it was to demonstrate how well they buffed Cold and made it viable. -

True. Nemesis bracers/homing pad hotbuttons aswell, please. Wouldn't mind that at all (or maybe fucking give us some proper paragon perks, EG 1 trinket-like effect able to be equipped on your char every 100 levels - pick between 9. Could be like:Quote from Tehstool
It would still be handy outside of greater rifts, that's for sure.
Nemesis bracer effect.
Homing pad effect.
Those wristguards that give exp-on-gold effect.
Fire walkers effect.
Ess of Johan pull-in to target effect.
Deadmau5 necklase-effect.
Gladiator gauntlets massacre-bonus gold effect.
Fill in the blanks, but you get the point - all those small, fun legendary affixes that you'd love to get to use if they didn't totally suck VS shit like Strongarms, Aughilds, Ice climbers etc almost gamebreaking bonuses).
That's just fucking stupid, no offense to you. The intention is that you shouldn't be switching gear/talents. If you *want* to switch gear/talents, you have to take the penalty of teleporting to town and setting shit up, then getting back into the dungeon, thus loosing time. It's intended behaviour (you pay for the benefit of swapping things around). A comfort option isn't what's needed - a nerf to the Furnace is what's needed.Quote from Robelucci
I know . But as u know many ppl using PSR, take advantage of using portal to chage their weapon before the last boss appears. Its tedious and we want comport option for that -

Bagstone posted a message on No, just no, we don't want to use Hydra.Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient RepositoriesNo, it's terrible just another thing you have to lay down and wait for it to kill something which takes way to long, it isn't a fun build at all. Why don't all of you quit fanboying all the shitting buffs and say something constructive. I want a build that involves our Fire Birds set. Not a wizard pet build.....Please be more careful with your choice of words. Fanboying? I'm not a Hydra fan at all but this change made me happy for two reasons:
1) Hydra is one of the very few spells we have that allows us to deal damage while moving. Almost all other currently used spells except for EB (MM, Archon, AT, Disingetrate, RoF) require you to stand and channel something. And "stand still" oftentimes means "death" on greater rifts 35+.
2) Finally there is another weapon that we can use besides Wand of Woh. There is a silver lining on the horizon that the weapon slot might not stay a one-way street.
Is Hydra the answer to all our wizard problems? Hell, no. Is this change nice? Absolutely, yes. You will not be forced into using Hydra, and none of us is saying that the Hydra change solves our problems, but your post assumes that the entire wizard playerbase hates this spell and this is just not true. Move on to your spec/class but don't insult those who are happy about their spec being buffed.
