A minority opinion on this forum, I should think. Shouldn't you have finished your one-time playthrough and left by now?

Fire rune is the best for solo. I play mostly groups nowdays and the Physical shield bash crus thrives, snipping rift guardians. I have a friend that his crus does 20 bill per crit. if you were talking entrirelly on solo purposes u have to go fire. If you are switching to group runs, speed rifts ** , for exp, u have to go physical, one or two shotting elites is pretty easy. Most people in D3 dont play solo these days, because the advantages that group speed runs give you, are way too imbalanced.
Hexing pants are a hard choise to neglect because they give you so much dps. I know that the playstyle isnt so pretty and tiring but the damage bonus is a must.
I havent tried fire that much, but i know the dps is low. How much do u guys crit in average?Lol what do you mean the damage bonus is a must? If you're worried about damage on this build then you're doing something wrong. I can breeze through 55 now. I can probably do 60 easily if i managed to survive. In 2.3 i can see myself pushing mid 60s easily. So the damage from Hexing pants is not "a must". Toughness is a lot more important. The DPS on Fire is insane.

Delsere is interesting but Tal Rasha's simply trumps it hard. TR's damage output is simply to high.
In case you lack a good serpent sparker or Aether walker (for the teleport build) you can go 5 pieces TR 3 del's + ring of royal grandeur. This gives you the full TR but also the 2000% DPS time zones from delsere. This build works because of how the set bonuses work. While delsere's (6) bonus lets you deal more damage to targets in the time zone with specific spells, TR simply lets you deal more damage... with everything.... against everything. This ironically makes TR's (6) bonus better for delsere wizards than the delsere (6)
The only downside to the combo build is the lack of focus and restraint

So you mean I could take a lvl 70 gem do a lower level GR and just pay to make it from 10% to 100%? That sounds a bit broken

Just wait til people unlock the stash tab.

They did reset the leader boards already. Hotfixes don't update tooltips and such ingame. Those require a client Update. Hotfixes though can change the numbers. I don't know what the S5 PTR solo GR clear was prior to the hotfix, but as of last night it was 81 and 80 non-season. Prior to the hotfix Quin had a 88 clear NS.
Edit: Just double checked current leader boards. Season on PTR has an GR84 clear and NS is up to 82

You answered your own question in your post...

Depends what you are doing. If you are doing GRs in the 35-45 range you will see a lot of Barbs and Wizards. If you are getting into the higher GRs like 50+ you'll start seeing more zdps Saders and WDs. 2.3 Will give Crusaders a speed farm build to help balance most of it out.

His video was wrong and has been proven time and time again. He didn't realize the damage boost was applied right away. So he was thinking his 17mil punish critical were normal and not boosted.
Going to expand on this. Just tested and have some numbers for comparison.
Without Focus/Restraint
-Shield Bash - 600 Million Crit
-Punish - 13 Million Crit
With 1 Buff of Focus/Restraint
-Shield Bash - 833 Million Crit
-Punish - 20 Million Crit
With 2 Buff of Focus/Restraint
-Shield Bash - 1.4 Billion Crit
-Punish - 30 Million Crit
