posted a message on Act 4 Corrupted Tyrael End Boss
If youve read the Sin War books, they mention a Angel that was the creator of Sanctuary itself. If im not mistaken, he is imprisoned at the end?

This could be the return of Inarius.

I think its interesting that Diablo looks a lot more like a dragon, or influenced by Eastern ideas.

well i dont know if they will wait another 2 1/2 years. That would mean the engine that they made it on would be outdated.

which would be the same mistake as D2..

i always actually assumed that this might be another D2 expansion. Almost a whole new game just on the old engine.

    i would still play it.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Teaser Trailer Leaked
Theres not much in that video even for a teaser. And Blizzard is known for a lot better voice acting than that. DII menu music doesnt help it either. But there is the possibility that this is just a real rough draft that they are playing with, hence the shaddy work.

    who really knows.

art should be judged by content, as well as invoking of feelings. there is a very large line between the Mona Lisa, and a can of cambells chicken soup.

i think that art nowadays is by a large part (with minimum exceptions) a joke. people just grab a canvas, leave it in a room, make small puddles of different paints around the room, and stick a dog and a cat in there and lock the door. after a couple hours they come back and remove the dead cat and the dog. overnight it dries (along with the blood), and the next day they take it to an art convention and get a blue ribbon as well as a couple thousand dollars.

i know that it is that simple because i have seen a "master artist" at work. a teacher i had was flinging paint from her brush onto a canvas and using her fingers to spread it a little. the next day she showed us her proud achievement and won an award for it a month after. besides her i have seen other "masters".

for all those of you who enjoy that kind of stuff or who practice it:

    1. just grab a nice rifle
    2. make sure its loaded and armed
    3. put the butt of it to your knees
    4. stick the barrel in your mouth
    5. place your thumb (doesnt matter which one) on the trigger
    6. push down on the trigger

congrats!!! you have just done humanity a HUGE favor!!!!!!

this is one of the most ignorant things ive ever read about the art community.

If you had any sense about the matter, Art is for the person. The fact that you see it at all should be considered a gift. And if you dont like it thats fine, but you dont have any right to judge the way a person expresses him or herself. Thats why people win awards and have people with big bucks spend money for "that" type of art. Its like as Lightray said, its the persons perception of the world that you see. And that makes all the difference.

it looks stupid. diablo does not use that feel for its games or its pictures. instead of clean and super-polished it has a rugged dark and evil feel. that just looks like someone used watermark on a tyrael pic and did the same that every other noob does. btw, stop making senseless threads. there are already threads of this sort, do us all a favor and stop multiplying the number of stupid threads made by stupid people already.

i agree, i said that in my post, i couldnt seem to mimic that dirty grungy style. As far as the other threads, i dont care. Most of the other threads did just that, put a wallpaper or a google pic in photoshop and slapped D3 across the bottom. Fortunantly here, i created the image solely from my two hands, i didnt spend the most time on it, but i did spend a solid few hours. So if that doesnt qualify as fan art, and doesnt belong in this area of the site, then i dont know what does.

ps. i dont mind if you think it looks stupid, (im not offended or hurt either) i goto art school and im majoring in illustration. Criticism comes hand in hand there, and if anything its the most i could ask for.

And for the record, the only PS filter i used was Texturize, the watermark type style is my own doing.

id like to have the subtitle be, "The Fallen Angel", or "Lord of Shame". Its based around the idea that destroying the Worldstone corrupted Tyrael, and the Heavens have abondoned him for meddling with mortals.

I kept looking at the previous boxarts, including LOD, it has a style i just cant seem to mimic. My rendition seems more like it should be on a novel more than a game box. =(

the lore does speak of angels that walk among men in Sanctuary just as demons do.

Or maybe they are ancient Horadrim granted ascension. That would put them around the time of the Sin War.

    pulled this from diablo2.com
"While it seems strange that Halbu and Jamella - often called the Merchants of Light - would engage in matters as trivial as the buying and selling of armor and weapons, it makes a certain sense in the scope of how the agents of Heaven are allowed to interact with those of the mortal realm. Like Tyreal, they are forbidden to aid brave adventurers directly, but their buying and selling of items is indirect help at best, allowing them to follow the letter of their Holy Law."

Agents of Heaven, maybe they are angelical.

maybe the secret level in diablo 3 will be the portal to the temple underneath Tristram, where diablo's pressence still lingers from so many years before.

Who is Jamella and the other Armorer in the Pandemoniam Fortress? Mortals that have risen to power through Heaven? They must be right, they are on the very edge of hell itself. And they dont have the angelic appearance of Tyrael.

I think i remmber tyrael or cain saying that that place is the last stronghold against hell. As in the gates of heaven itself or Sanctuary?

    gahhhh
