I don't think it's actually the game that sucks, though, just the item system, since it was thrown out of whack by the introduction of godly runewords that everyone "needs" to have, and hence everyone dupes runes and the like. It really just comes down to the fact that dupe moderation is terrible, hacking moderation is terrible, etc- all Battle.net-related problems. The game itself, played in single player or on a LAN connection with friends without hacking, is much better.

The actual game-play elements, like the whole point distribution system and the fighting style (which they have as hack n' slash), were actually dumbed-down from real DnD rules and such, to appeal to a casual gamer. The problems you portrayed, Link, were all server-based, I think. Dunno, just my two cents. Don't mean any of that as a flame, if you might take it that way.



I think the main reason for this is simply because you can't string together gems and get better results, only runes do that. But yeah, "indestructibility" and "unable to be frozen" attributes on runes are kind of over-powered. But, again, in single player those types of runes are nearly impossible to find, at least for me, which levels it out a bit.

stone of jordan ring for about 3 high runes
LOW sandstorm trek boots for about 3-4 high runes
magefist gloves for about 1/2-1 high rune
(descent) fcr ring for about 2-4 high runes
LOW annihilus small charm for about 10-20 high runes
LOW sorc torch for about 10-20 high runes

For the record, though, I find it pretty sad that it took five responses until you finally got an answer other than "just Google it." It took less than two minutes to link you to the resources I use, rather than letting you sift through mountains of search-engine garbage to find something that may or may not be of use to you.
