thats according to wikipedia [please name source, or else its stealing]

and wikipedia isnt exactly the most ACCURATE site out there...

I cannot name my sources, in fear of being fired. Thats why I stated rumored. If you want where the rumor originated, do a search for blizzcon 2006, forums and IRC chat channels. You can cruise through information from participating game development companies.

I am not going to do all the work for ya :D

i never said they woodnt attempt the product at a later date

i actually forgot where i got that from

but i remember reading it yesterday.

im pretty sure it was blizzard.com

This was the information on Starcraft Ghost

Blizzard has sat in on a contract with microsoft. It is not known if a deal was made for a 7th generation game.

Why would they do this and buy back the rights to this game if they didn't plan on redoing it bigger and better?

1st person shooter for Starcraft is huge, especially with Microsoft wanting to develop XBOX Live servers and features in other countries than USA and Canada.

It was rumored that Microsoft will be present at WWI. I wonder why

StarCraft: Ghost was a planned tactical action game for video game consoles developed by Blizzard Entertainment and set in the same science fiction milieu as its popular StarCraft title. Blizzard announced the game in 2002, but on March 24, 2006 announced it would "indefinitely postpone" development[1] (see development hell). Soon afterward, Blizzard removed StarCraft: Ghost from its list of games currently under development, and deleted the official Ghost home page; the URL for that page now redirects to Blizzard's Web site[1] (like StarCraft2.com). As of now, its status is in question, and many fans and analysts, including gaming websites such as IGN, are predicting that it has been canceled.
Blizzard, a game developer mostly known for computer games, was taking a step in a different direction by producing Ghost exclusively for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 video game consoles. Instead, they have now chosen to reorient themselves on the seventh generation consoles. Earlier, a GameCube version was also planned, but it was already canceled in November 2005. Many in the gaming community were under the assumption that the game was being developed by Blizzard when it has in fact been a third-party project since its inception, starting with Nihilistic (Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption) and officially moved over to Swingin' Ape Studios (Metal Arms: Glitch in the System) in July 2004. On May 16, 2005, Blizzard Entertainment acquired Swingin' Ape Studios, and in March 2006 they announced that Starcraft: Ghost was on indefinite hold.

ghost was stopped because the horrible reviews and comments they got about ghost. not because of a marketing scheme or anything

its because blizzard fans arent ready for them to release a console game, with the only new game that have had for 6 years being warcraft

they have begun to come back to the roots, and re invent the diablo universe, and starcraft universe also.

I would like to see where you got your info..

The only information about Starcraft Ghost from blizzard was, Postponed indefinately.

They never said they would not attempt the product at a later date.

They have since bought back the rights for Starcraft Ghost. They absolutely can and probably will release a newer version to what Blizzard North and Swingin' Ape Studios made.

Or maybe it's from the World of Warcraft Intro CGI, which it is.

Correct, but he asked for the Origin. My fault is I didn't explain where it came from in WoW. But I thought that was obvious, my bad.

Does any one that actually plays WOW know where the quote in the splash screen came from?

The drums of war thunder once again.

Not too important... I just don't play WOW(GW is soo much better) So I don't know where it came from...

It was a quote from originally Warcraft II. Drums of war is just exactly what it says, Drums of War. A drum in war time was something loud enough the entire army could hear it, and march with the drum to stay in stride going into battle. They could also use it to count for how long each fight was on the front line. Roman Legionaires would only fight up to 1 minute on the front line before falling to the back line of the battalion.

how can SC: Ghost be SCII, they arent even the same genre, they arent even on the same machine. SC II would be on PC, SC: Ghost is on console.

Who said anything about them being one and the same? They said they were releasing a new title. They have not said what it was for (PC, Console).

All am saying is, that my opinion is, that it will be Starcraft Ghost. Followed by a release announcement for Diablo 3, in june.

Project Medusa, could be have been code name for Ghost since the project has so many haults. (Meaning turned to stone.)

its well known Blizzard works on a WoW expansion aswell. There are even textures of new continents and items in the next patch thats coming (i dont expect them to add a new continent in a content patch). They also licenced Frostmourne among other things, so i'm pretty sure we'll get to know something about it within this year. Would be too early to announce it now though, especially while people are still really busy with the previous expansion. Blizzard knows marketing more than anyone, they'll definitely announce it when it suits it most. For now it looks more like Starcraft 2 to me.

    Northrend..

Bring a Fur cout its going to be cold. Frozen Throne here they come.

Blizz has been really quiet for the last few years, and need something big to put them up there again. This or the blizzcon will surely do so.

Wow and Burning Crusade was quiet? I think you are the one that is deaf, or blind.
