posted a message on Diablo III and 2moons..Same Gameplay?!
    Quote from "Thasador" »
Thasador reporting in from Blizzcon in Anaheim, CA.

Playing the demo version of Diablo III, right off the bat I noticed something familiar. Hot key #1-6 on your key board are reserved for spells/skills casting. Much like the free online RPG game 2moons, you are able to cast a spell with a quick touch of any of the designated hotkey space. Why did blizzard do such a thing as to mirroring other RPG Games gameplay. Discuss!

    Thasador

That is a pretty common thing among many RPGs. Most MMOs and the like that I have played let you assign spells to hotkeys that you choose. I am sure Blizzard did it for simplicty and ease-of-use. It would allow spells or abilties to be used quickly rather than only being able to have two assigned like Diablo 2.

Who cares? You know that we are all going to play the game anyway. Regardless of the stat allocation system.

It's Blizzard we are talking about. When have they ever failed to please their fans?

posted a message on Blizzard needs to implement at least a BoE or BoP system (Bind on Equip or Pick-up).
    Quote from "TheHuHu" »
Disclaimer : Please do not come into this thread to flame or make incessant claims that this will not be Diablo at all with these new systems. Do not claim it is a copy of World of Warcraft just because of this idea. Many games to this day borrow ideas from others. There are no "original" games anymore, only original concepts. Even Diablo 1 and 2 were worlds of difference when D2 added new things and even then, the "hardcore" fans would whine that it wasn't "Diablo."

If you really did play Diablo 2 over B.net at all then you know the economy sucked because of the myriad of uniques everyone had. Even I had four mules packed with high-end runes and gear and I had one mule carrying specifically Windforces, Eaglehorns, Stormshields, and Grandfathers.

When a game's item, like in Diablo 2, never had to be destroyed or sold because there was no reason to, then the economy will blow. If you can just keep muling or stashing or trading HIGH-END uniques over and over again, even after using them, then it becomes Diablo 2 in terms of trading / economy all over again.

Gold has no value in Diablo 2 whatsoever, only to repair your gear. When I used to frequent the trade channels and I hear, "40 SoJs for a .08 Windforce!! WHISPER ME NOW!!" it became quite clear that the economy went to crap.

Blizzard has to, and I strongly emphasize this because then it will be Diablo 2's economy again, implement some sort of way to stop the influx and retainment of high-end uniques to be able to be traded over and over again. And I believe a BoP (for certain universal items, like maybe a +20 attribute amulet ^_^) would help deter the economy from going to crap.

Now, with the Bind on Equip system, one would still be able to trade high-end uniques but once it is equipped, it becomes yours forever and cannot be traded. This will at least let a spellcaster who picks up a Mace +2 to sell to a warrior class without problems. I'm not saying that this will stop all items from becoming currency (hello, SoJs and runes) but it will at least stop the economy from going to crap.

Haha a minor note - this isn't Baldur's Gate. There are no "+" items. Anyway I think Diablo II's economy is just fine. Then again it is very easy to get uniques because you fight bosses over and over.

Ok, Why doesn't Blizzard just make the graphics so damn dark that the screen is just pitch black? Will all you emo kids be happy?

Online petitions are the adult version of kids writing letters to Santa.

Anyone obsessively participating in whining right now, go bide your time by writing dark poetry about your anguish-filled emo heart.

Haha, I like that statement. Seeing as I am an avid emo hater.

I just don't understand why people have to whine. A true fan of Diablo would just be happy that after all of these years the one thing we have all been waiting for was finally announced.

Just quit whining. You aren't making the game. You have no say. You can't change anything.
I like the new art style. I like everything about what we have seen of Diablo 3. It's not because I like WoW or Guild Wars or any of that crap mentioned (which has nothing to do with anything). I am a pure Diablo fan. The Diablo games are the only Blizzard games I have ever played.

All of these Diablo "fans" shouldn't have any problem with what Blizzard dishes out. Just be glad D3 was finally announced! If you were true "fans" of the series it wouldn't even matter. As long as we get to go on with the epic Diablo storyline.

Stylized over realism...big mistake...someone should punch that guy to his balls to let him know what kind of *** is he doing (you can not always make atmosphere by story and things that are happening...I am going to kill you on the field filled with BUNNIES.. it looks like some kind of parody to Diablo)...and stylized doesn't mean cartoony that is truth as long as the world is not painted...

Honestly who cares? I doesn't take away from the epic storyline. Quit whining. Pathetic.

    The game looks fine.

Oh, i got it just now lol. Am i interpreting it correctly? ^^
It means that for example 8 people are fighting against some boss. I'm one of them, we kill him, and there is a DIFFERENT loot for EACH player?? SO it means that it's certain i will get sth? It would be soo cool, coz sometimes you got lag, and you are screwed.. lol.
But how could it work? They will see my loot as well? If they do, then they won't be able to pick any of it? Don't get that ;) But the info is very promising :)
    cheers

Yeah means that different info will be sent to each player's computer. Only you will be able to see and pick up your loot.

I love the new loot system. Each player will see there own randomly generated loot so no one will be racing to get that unique that just dropped on the ground.

Q: With the loot system in Diablo II, the player with the fastest connection often got the loot. Will this change?
A: We're changing the drop system. Monsters will drop multiple items, each player will see loot generated for them.

    Quote from "Archie" »
This isn't mainly about the artwork itself. It is about the fact that we now know that DIII=Hydra. This is the first slip up ever by Blizzard about their code names.

Now what does the name Hydra mean. 3 heads, 3 Prime Evils. Obviously. Except that Diablo now has 3 mouths as seen in the Trailer. Hmmm...

The cinematic is dated 2007. I know there must have been artwork dating back to 04, my point is that the renderings are much farther along than we might have first thought.

EDIT: Ahh, there was one thread about it, but it looks like it was hidden behind several dozen pages. It was last posted in yesterday morning.

Mods feel free to do what you do best if you feel it is necessary.

Nobody ever said that was Diablo.
