(more targets = less chance of all of them being non-crits).

The only thing that could mess this up would be, if you are hitting more than 5 targets with the same attack AND the game treats all those hits as causing damage simultaneously and causes any crit in those simultaneous hits to break the chain.
That's exactly how broken promises works. If you are using an AoE attack (Way of the Hundred Fists) and there are crits in that AoE attack, you won't get a proc. In addition, AoE non-crits (the kind from WotHFs 3rd attack) will not count towards your 5 non-crit total to get a BP proc. Only non-crits from the target you clicked on will count. Non-crit SSS will proc BP, but it attacks so fast that the animation will usually finish before you get the damage bonus.

You aren't wearing any class sets, and you don't have any legendary gems. That is how you deal high damage in this game. Class sets, such as the Wrath of the Wastes set, bring set bonuses that deal thousands of percent weapon damage. In the current state of the game, non-set character builds are vastly inferior to set based builds. Since you are playing non-season, you should aim for acquiring 5 pieces of Wrath of the Waste set and 3 pieces of the Immortal Kings set (one of those pieces must be the weapon), along with a Ring of Royal Grandeur to unlock the 6 and 4 piece set bonuses of each set respectively. For that item composition, you want Bane of the Trapped, Taeguk, and Pain Enhancer as legendary gems. That combination can take you into greater rift 40-50 territory easily. There are a number of guides on this in the build section on Diablofans front page.

posted a message on WotW 6 piece

DD are based on the rune you select for WW.

Skull Grasp does not increase DD damage, but whirlwind skill damage (for instance on boots and helms) does.

DD spawn rate is based on WW breakpoints. More attack speed can be better if you get to a higher breakpoint. Some people are switching to WotW 6 with dual Bul Kathos Swords in place of IK BB to spawn more DD and thus do more damage. 55 has been cleared with this set up.

posted a message on I want to play ZPDs! What is the best class?

Both zdps Crusaders and WD are currently required for high level group GR. If you don't have a consistently optimized team to play with and/or play with randoms, I would say a zdps WD is best to have as locking down elites is probably the most important thing. The WD is slightly harder to gear as they usually run a Star Metal Kukri for weapon, which is rare. However, some zdps WD have started using Solaniums and stacking crit chance to spawn health globes, which makes gearing easier.

I like doing the Keeps Depths lvl 2. Good density of both white and elite packs and can spawn resplendent chests and a cursed shrine.
