I know a guy with two Burmese Pythons. One is pretty nice, while the albino one is always pissed off and mean. I don't see Siaynoq owning any kind of snake though.
There is a problem when people can't separate reality from fiction. I'm not saying the Titanic sinking and lots of people dying didn't actually happen, I'm only saying that those people are not dying every time the movie is viewed. Had I been there and seen it all happen, or even if there were video footage of it happening I would definitely not find it amusing. I'm only saying here that the movie did a bad job of rendering those particular scenes, and since they were badly done and not actually real, I am able to find it amusing.
It's not that I didn't try per se, it's that I didn't really care. And isn't it the movie's job to make me care in the first place? Yes, and so in my eyes, it failed.
I did laugh rather loudly as Leo sank down into the sea. It just wasn't enough enjoyment to justify the rest of the movie. But that scene was particularly hilarious.

Our dog here gets separation anxiety when no one's around. He's already destroyed a $3000 couch.
