I keep seeing thigns like ''you need 120k EHP', and such, I saw the calculator but didn't understand shit, can someone explain me what Effective Health Pool is?
My guess is that you need 120k health without any armor / resistances. As you get more gear and thereby get reduced damage because of armor and resistances, you can lower your health.
Say, for example, you have 50 % reduced physical damage from armor and about the same for elemental damage because of resistances, then you can reduce your effective health pool by 50 %, making it 60k..
Take note of the two first words - this is nothing but a guess
If this is the case, then a very simplified calculation could be:
Case 1:
120 k health and no armor / resistances
A monster hits you for 20k damage, killing you in 6 hits.
Case 2:
60 k health and 50 % reduced damage because of armor / resistances
The same monster as case 1 now hits you for 10k damage, again killing you in 6 hits.
As the total amount of hits you are able to withstand in case 1 and 2 are the same, your effective health is said to be the same.
That sound more or less correct. EHP is Effective Health Pool which is the equivalent amount of health you'd have if all of your defensive stats (namely resists, and armor) were converted into HP and 'added' to your HP total. A quick example, if you have 50% Damage reduction (DR) from armor and 50% from resists, your total DR is 25%. If you have 25k HP this means you have 100k EHP, since you only take 25% of incoming damage.
EHP is the easiest way to talk about survivability, especially with regards to Force Armor, because then you only have to look at one number instead of trying to sort through combinations of HP, Armor, and Resists. Fortunatelly calculating EHP is very simple and there are a number of calculators in these forums or on various web sites.

thanks, I found a while ago a link to a calculator, but I don,t find it anymore mind to give me a link?
