ghost bomb does more direct damage 110%+30% = 140%
ghost bomb does aoe damage 30%
ghost bomb costs less mana 10

rain of toads does only 130% damage
has zero aoe
and costs 12 mana

it has a better LOH proc rate, but yes i see your point, especially since LOH is becoming less popular

Rain of Toads also has zero travel time and can be cast through Waller affix walls, which the vast majority of spells cannot do.

I don't use it in my farming spec but I do use it in my Uber spec. The LoH coefficient is sick.

RoT work wonders as well if u r using the "freeze build" (Azurewrath + Star of Azkaranth + Belt with % FoH). Great for party play as a supporting role (if no perma freeze wiz is in the party). Plus with some LoH on gear u r practically freezing while getting health back.. sweet.

i prefer RoT over ghost bomb purely for the perks of when i get walled in i can still plug them, and if they are the annoying electrified with xtra health i can just stand behind a rock or wall and block the electric and still rip them apart with no risk..

Yeah the dmg is not the greatest but it is a handy counter to Reflect dmg mobs as well since the proc on LoH is crazy with it so you can actually counter reflect with a low amount of LoH using RoT

is it me or does Rain of Toads not crit?
if so, how is that all crit damage calculated with regards to rain of toads?

It does crit but it doesn't show yellow text. This is something about all dots in D3 (RoT is considered a dot). Anyway, if you watch the numbers, you will see the larger crit hits, they just won't be yellow. Maybe they'll fix this display error in a later patch.

Why would anyone use those crappy primary skills? get more regen, use pride, spam bears!
