I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
I personally think its dumb, since its so easy to get gold... just dont be lazy, in half an hour, you could easily make 20-50g. although, i do have a friend that bought 800g, so that way he could pay for his epic mount, since his proffessions didnt bring him enough money when he hit 60. IMO, just get good proffessions that will make you money, and you will be fine money wise.

I fought and did quests like crazy and I was slow in leveling and in getting gold back when I played WoW. I don't get how people make 500+ gold a day.

not everyone can be miners/skinners though.... then there will be no one to enchant/ transmute/ make pots / all that other stuff that you need. but i agree, buying gold is for nubcakes. you lose all priveleges of thinking your character is cool if you start buying stuff.
anyhow they should make the other jobs make more money somehow...
gold is the thing that moves everything in WoW. Everything is sold in gold, theres barely any item for item trade since its easier to set prices for gold (and its also much harder to get than in Diablo).
Daily quests bring enough gold usually, but they also require time which is precious to people with a life and want to casually play WoW (do instances etc). Professions do bring some income but its not even half as good as questing except the items that require too many materials to make (rare recipes mostly that create epic items with extremely high cost and a hard time to sell).
i can understand buying gold. what i cant understand is buying from sites that spam the servers over and over with gold selling advertisements (and powerleveling).

its not about how it looks, its about how it feels. and it feels awesome when you work coop to kill certain bosses (before they're nerfed). Its also awesome to win against others in the Arena or work hard to be the first to get something on the server.
right now im on ebay looking for a good price on it

Goldbuying is bad because it ruins the in-game economy of the game, specifically by stimulating extreme inflation on the top-end items, such as the best gems for socketing, and items required for the best sets, like motes. When these prices then go up, regular users are incapable of keeping the same pace, and are left behind. Therefore I did not buy gold. Plus it costs too much, and I didn't want to get banned.

It really depends. When I had to make gold, I farmed for motes and gathered herbs, of which the latter gave me the most money. Of course, motes were always heavily farmed by everyone else, so you had to find your own places and times to farm.
Other than that, the key is to spend wisely. I managed to gatherer around 4500g before quitting over six months, and I even bought quite a lot of Motes of Shadow for Frozen Shadoweave set, and all those things for the epic warlock mount.

Although enchanters at least can make shitloads of money as well.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I bought gold to get my epic flying mount. It felt reeeealy unsatisfying flying around in my mount knowing how it was obtained. That character feels completely tainted and I don't enjoy playing him anymore. I won't ever buy it again.
