It's not that they're lazy, they just don't seem up to par with the average moderators. I understand the admin like Umaro because keeping the site up to date is a job in itself but (if I'm not mistaken) the moderator's only job is to moderate.
It's great that you can ignore those things, but what about the people who can't?
And I find it ridiculous that Elfen is moderating 40 forums at once, why not have a different moderator around here so that they can clean it all up? And we really need a day and a night moderator simply for spam deletion. Otherwise, they can as well follow my advice of restricting url's to first-time posters.
Global moderators are nice but you still can't expect one to be able to do all the moderating. Like the idea of a day and night moderator or a moderator from USA or Canada, one from Australia, and one from Europe would have the same effect.
A mod's main work should be to delete spam and bot threads i think.

True, and I bet there are quite a lot of people out there who get discouraged to use this site because of the amount of spam.

Moderating all of this seems to be a full-time job. I can get stuck here for hours if I go through all forums and read most posts. When this place expands, it's only going to get worse.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Yes, but I think it wouldn't be necessary to moderate all the threads and go through all the posts. Cause even if it were done randomly, as long as people knew there was more moderating going on, and they weren't sure when and where it could happen, that might clean up some of the flaming and trolling going on. Or not.

A recent study by a famous criminologist showed that this tactic, long emplyed by New York City, is infact useless and has no effect. Very interesting in my opinion. If he is to be believed, fear of being severely punished does not deterr crime.

True, but there is also the Broken Window policy where if criminals are in an city that is cleaner and in better shape than other cities, they're less likely to commit crimes in those areas. It's like when Guiliani prohibited the sale of pornography outside of stores and forced businesses to keep it inside. That small measure alone helped clean up New York. And the same tactic was applied in all sorts of aspects. Tickets for public urination, heftier fines for littering, all these things had a spreading effect. And the more sanitary the city became, more muggings, gang violence, prostitution, etc, started to go down.
That at least has been my understanding of New York's crime problems.
The main idea was that the deterrment coincided with other societal changes, so even though the former had nothing to do about it, that was what you noticed and applied the success to.
Now I can't find the actual report, I only remember seeing in on TV here in Sweden yesterday or so.
EDIT: Damn it, even searching through the programs web-page yields no results. If any swedes here know what I'm talking about and would like to help me out, here's the site: www.svt.se/rapport
EDIT2: Aha! I bet you all thought I was pulling this out of my ass. I saw it this monday, and it was research made by Alfred Blumstein. Unfortunately, I've only read about it in swedish, so it won't be of any help to you, but at least now you know the name.

Well you can spot an idiot a mile away and seem to have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a useless post - and you voice your opinions on those! I mean if you were to be a mod, you might want to tone down the flaming just a little bit, seeing as how that is one of the problems seemingly classified as "bad".
I, for one, would love to see you as a Moderator though.
