why would someone "play" a bar game and not go to a real bar?
i prefer fantasy setting for the games i play. Never played life simulators either, whenever i play i want to escape from real life, not "simulate" one.
Theoretically, it would just be cheaper to stay at home and drink and play this game. Remember that you'd be able to level up as well, like when you win a bar fight you gain experience. Or if you yell to the band, "Play some old shit!" Then your reputation goes down. Or if you score a floosy, you can level up then as well.
i'd rather try that stuff in real life than virtually. But thats just me, thats the same reason why i dont like Sims/Sims 2 either.
The best part is you could do both! You can play video games, and do real life things. I would not play such a game as a permanent substitute for going to a bar. Especially since I like to get my groove on from time to time.
as i said, its just me whenever i sit on my pc to play i want to escape from real life. Thats why i mainly play fantasy games as Gothic (whole series), Diablo (whole series), WoW, Morrowind, Oblivion etc
i dont think i'd follow a gangster career in my real life so i played GTA with pleasure. Especially Vice City i found awesome. Didnt have time to try San Andreas but it looked bit too serious for me to try.
