Trading has been a core part of D2 and D3. I just dont see how they think it is a good idea...
It's amazing how many times I will see people saying this, and then how many times I will hear the exact opposite (from people who don't like trading at all and do not agree that Trading is a core part of the Diablo experience).
As time passes, it feels more and more a 50/50 split, with both parties never reaching a middle ground agreement.
There's a 12 page thread that contains - amongst all the (understandable) rage about this proposition - probably way more than 10.
Alas, it does not. It only has the usual "I can't resist trading if it's there, so let's get rid of it".
Whether you consider the arguments reasonable/logic doesn't change what they are, or the fact that others do consider them very good reasons for BoA/soulbound.
I haven't formed my personal opinion on whether the reasons are logical or not, since we haven't heard almost anything on this from the devs pov.
By the way, can't we all like agree that this is their ultimate stance in order to fight third party website trading (it's a CONSPIRACY!) and pretend there's nothing we can do to change it? This way we can kinda move forward with the argument and discussions, instead of being in this endless stalemate.
I don't know if that is true or not, but at least believing in that would make us move on, like we had to do with "online only DRM" or "unmoddable game" issues.

Of course this is the "nuclear option" against 3rd party trading sites. Just like online only was to combat piracy and hacked client-side items (that are infesting the console like a damn plague). You'll never get Blizzard to actually ADMIT this though. But they knew chopping off the AH would just bring d2jsp back unless they did something drastic. This is not as drastic as it could be (no trading anything whatsoever), but it's a hell of a lot more drastic than I figured they had the stomach for. They've been so wishy washy about this game, I never thought they'd have the guts. Too bad they don't have the guts to kill Magic Find.
Too bad they don't have the guts to kill Magic Find.
You get a +1 simply for that. I wholeheartedly agree. Magic find needs to be removed, end of story. There's no point why one single affix should allow for 3 times (or 6 times or whatever) more loot, it's just game-breaking in a loot-focused game.
if the game guarantees that will only drop items for my class (what should become 'easy' and boring as time goes by).. well then its ok, but sux so hard to find a demon hunter item while playing as a barbarian and cant trade it or give to a friend who is offline now and will log after ...

It's a somewhat valid conspiracy theory. And one nobody will ever be able to 100% confirm, or deny. It's a win/win scenario!
And then we move on to other things. Like discussing a solution that pleases both pro-ladder and non-ladder players.

KILL MAGIC FIND - NOW!
