The Comma is Coming to AH and Trading
The lack of a comma when dealing with large amounts of gold on the Auction House or in a Trade Window has led to many mistakes and requires a lot of attention and multiple checks. This key symbol is coming to the game though, along with other AH changes!
Make commas have a 50% drop rate chance from elite packs. Players then can use them in either the trade window or AH. Of course commas must be bound on account to encourage play time.

We agree that the lack of commas in both player trade windows and the Auction House is not ideal and that is can lead to some very bad experiences for players, and it's definitely on our radar as something we would like to change. We have concrete plans to do this (seriously), but we don't have an ETA on when we'll be implementing this change just yet. As it stands, it's something that is likely to coincide with other changes relating to the Auction House and itemization, so hang in there!
Interview with D1 and D2’s Lead Designer
Stieg Hedlund - the Lead Designer for Diablo and Diablo II and current Chief Creative Officer at Turpitude - gave an interview on how Diablo III turned out according to him.
Here is a small part from the interview PCGamer did with him:
PCG: What did you think of Diablo III? Stieg Hedlund: It’s hard to separate personal feelings about something like that from how the game was perceived. I think the audience really didn’t react to it very well. A lot of the changes were things that they perceived as negative. Personally, I was just so deeply involved in the creation of the world and how everything worked in it… The direction a lot of things went was not something that I felt was where I would have gone. But I don’t want to Monday-morning quarterback them. It’s a tough thing to follow up on, the success of Diablo and Diablo II, and not encroach on the territory of World of Warcraft.

Feedback Needed for a Ladder-Like System
The so-craved Diablo II Ladder is really close to becoming a concept for a new mode in Diablo III. However the developers would like as much feedback and suggestions as possible, so make sure to comment on how you see the system being implemented.
We're investigating the possibility of adding a ladder-like system to Diablo III. Nothing is concrete yet, but we'd love to hear from you about what you'd like to see in this kind of feature.
- Would you like access to a separate auction house?
- Would you like to include player trading via the trade window?
- How long would you like the resets to be?
- How many character slots should we enable?
- Should the characters take up existing slots you currently have?
Clarifications on Console Version Gameplay
With D3's Console version release getting closer, more and more players ask questions on certain gameplay specifics. Grimiku gave a thorough clarification on many of the game's aspects.
1. Everyone must move at the same time (remember TMNT on Nintendo and how bad that style of movement sucked?) but they thought of this and added in a teleport feature in case someone gets left behind. I understand a PS3 is not a PC and can't handle a 4-5 screen gap between players so I'm not TOO upset about this, I understand why it is the way it is.
This is only the case for local coop games, so online games aren't restricted like this. The game also has a few subtle features to help reduce this problem like, idle coop characters automatically following the active ones. If you're in a local coop game and someone in your party isn't actively controlling their character, you can "drag" them along by just running where you want.
3. Loot is going back to Diablo 2's "first-come-first-serve" concept which is ok, that makes it more challenging and adds more value to items but I've grown accustom to the PC's "everyone gets loots but it's not all the same" concept. However, if you have 2 people playing on the your console, and 2 people on another console, the loot will split like PC version does.
This probably goes without saying, but I want to clarify this point for anyone who may be curious. If you're playing on a console network (but just yourself on your machine) then all the loot on the screen is yours, just like the PC version.
4. Town portal use will take EVERYONE in your party back to town, not just you. This is also restricted to the local machine player(s). If you're playing in an online multiplayer game, but alone on the local console, then you just teleport yourself back to town.
5. MP system is slightly different due to PS3 graphical limitations not allowing as much monster density but it will still be the same MP1-10 (though they have different names.) The monster density was adjusted specifically for the console, but the pace of the game is different too. I've talked to a lot of players who were concerned about this same issue, but after playing, they all said the density was just fine. Personally, I think it's because the fights are more generally more engaging.
I'm not the LEAST interested in D3 right now, but reading those news - I agree it's weak-based - I still feel like they should dissolve the PC team, and ask the console what they want to take care of BOTH versions.

Yeah, that's what I think about the core game. The graphics are great, I really like the design, but then the outline of the maps is static, and I can realize the logic behind asset placement very quickly. Mapping and guessing the layout was a part of Diablo 2 gameplay. There are only a few places in Diablo 3 that bring that back, like the Keep Depths levels, but even there I know 'ok this is the central circle, the exit will be to the North now', and I know which tiles are dead ends on Arreat Crater levels, etc.
Lmao, Being a diablo veteran most everyone agrees that the only reasons Diablo 1 & Diablo 2 hit the level of success it did was because there was nothing better at the time. Just like WoW ; We live in a better age nowadays. tell me something. If d2 was "So legendary" Then why can I buy it at Wal-Mart for for 10 bucks? DS2 has been out for years too it still costs 50 bucks.
The direction a lot of things went was not something that I felt was where I would have gone.
Oh mighty Stieg Hedlund. What would you have done sir? Make only 1 type of baal run the only way to level? Or make the only end game content an uber boss that you had to use cloned SoJ's to summon?? Like you did in D2? D2 was cool back in the day. but take note ; Back in the day. Taking a look back and comparing to what we have now D2 is shit. People need to wake up. Stieg Hedlund go's on about story? Not like he did an amazing job there either.
