Unless I'm just misunderstanding the word "Chinese", in that it just means somebody who plays a video game for 8+ hours a day for the purpose of selling virtual gear. If that is truly the case by saying "Chinese Farmer" you are formulating a stereotype about a specific race, thus actually saying something racist and it needs to stop.
You are misunderstanding it. Chinese farmer does in fact refer to just what it sounds like (or any other farmer in a country with very low labor costs). These games are region-locked, but there's nothing stopping people in china buying american/european boxes and playing on american/european realms.
It's like bands that build their careers on a classic, unique sound, and then deviate to pop crap and dismiss and discourage the sound that made them popular.
And that's never happened. And it totally doesn't work either
I think there are several factors to why Diablo 3 looks as it does, foremost is probably the fact that the organization has expanded in size yet not diversed as much since the creation of WoW. That said, I am one of those who do like it.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
I suspect that I will like it too. Especially from the functional side of things. I suppose it's also really premature to be judging this solely on select screen-caps off of a monitor.
Also, is there a reason why most (if not all) of the new screenshots that are being released don't have a user interface visible? I love seeing the juxtaposition of the static, but complex UI against the gameplay animations.
I honestly don't know. Maybe it's because the UI isn't finalized, maybe it's to make it more accessible to a wider range of people, maybe it's just standard practice and no one really know why they do it.

I never made it past lvl 86 in D2. But this time, no ladder resets. Inferno: challenge accepted!
have they confirmed no resets?
Don't know about the reset, but there is no ladder.
There will be no resets, and no ladder. The closest thing to resets that could possibly happen are patches where certain item characteristics are changed, which in itself probably won't happen with the careful planning they're doing with item stats.

What's with the end-game in games these days being just the game, but on a harder difficulty (or similar)? Why can't they add in a real end-game aspect to the game instead of just this recurring copy paste bullshit?
Same for D2, until the introduced Über D and the pandemonium events, which were/are great IMO.
I just hope we get a version of the Secret Cow Level. If we don't, I'm afraid I may hurt somebody. Somebody whose name rhymes with May Filson...
I honestly didn't notice the Thousand Pounder in the upper right that's him alright! Either he's not really a mini boss, but instead just a random instance area. Or by dying he got sent back to hell where he lives again.. Those are my two guesses.
Actually, it is common practice in many games to introduce "champion"-like mobs as mini-bosses. This sets the tone for the next time you meet him. You will encounter much larger and more difficult mobs before you meet him again... hopefully you would have seen an upgrade or two before then, too... that way your next encounter will be much quicker.
Ummmm... Look up South East Asia (SEA). It includes Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore. These countries more spifically Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore are not 3rd world countries which we associate with "Chinese Farmers". In fact Singapore is listed as a developed country.
They are very familiar with US currency and trust me when I say gold farming is not coming from SEA. The ONLY countries where gold farming thrives are countries where the dollar exchange is much lower. Singapore and Brunei's current dollar exchange is about US$1 = S$1.25 and cost/standard of living is equivelent to that of a major city like New York or Tokoyo.

Exact figures don't exist, but we're talking about a global market worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
