people are talking about a diablo mmo or another diablo game in a different time period... that would defeat the purpose of releasing diablo 3 because you would effectively just kill the game for blizzard and everybody who bought it... i can understand expansions coming out but they dont want to just throw out d3, have everybody playing and then all of a sudden kill it with diablo: sin war... id guess its wc4 but thats just me
A new franchise would be nice... would finally give Blizzard something new to work with, instead of constantly re-inventing old games (not that it's a bad thing!). But what would the new franchise be :/? Maybe another futuristic game? I doubt they would make another sword-and-spells style game if they make a new franchise, they have 2 of those at the moment, and only 1 future-style game. Hell, maybe even a game set in modern times. But whatever it turns out to be, no doubt that it will kick ass :D.

Well the mmo would come out a few years after d3 I'd think, but war3 and wow were released pretty close together so who knows.

"Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather."
ehh futuristic mmos are hard to do i think the only one ive seen actually (with shooting involved) is planetside. which is why im kind of concerned about a warhammer 40k mmo
im sure they would do a great job but im still kind of scared, because mmo's nowadays are basically the same thing over and over. i tried wow but i cant stand it i literally start to fall asleep.
For the person who was wondering what IP stood for, I do believe it means Intellectual Property, examples of intellectual property in a game makers case (like Blizzard) would be the games Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft. These are Blizzard's intellectual properties.
Most likely it's Blizzards attempts to expand. This is a great time for them to do that, they're not gonna suffer much from the recession since WoW is such a large source of income and their numbers are not falling one iota as far as I know.
Hellgate: London was not nearly as bad as everyone said it was. The cutscenes were amazing (there were like 3 people just to do the hair in the cutscenes.), the armor was AWESOME (MODELS for armor, as opposed to skins. Endgame Templar looked like giant tanks.), mutiple pop-culture refrences (found J.K. Rowling, Joan Luch Picard, James T. Kirk, and a few other NPCs), zany characters (Techsmith 314 reminded me of Caboose from RvB), and, of course, awesome rocket guns that fired 600 shots a minute (could duel-wield them too).
It's so sad that Roper is a moron. I'm still not sure how he got another job. I'm going to laugh when Champions Online fails. And then cry when I remember I'm never going to get to see Mythos again. *sob*
Anyway, I think Blizz could make a Hellgate: London game work. I've always thought Hellgate: London was the idea that Blizz turned down for Diablo III. There's an endgame boss that has a spikey tail and a horn sticking out of his forehead, and I keep thinking "that was probably Diablo's model."
Anyway, I'm ranting...
