I can't see light radius in gameplay video or screenshots. Are there going to be items which add points to light raidus?
Why ask me? As for the light radius - just watch the video closely, and see how there's a circle of light following the main character as he traverses into pitch-back areas. I can make screenshots of the video to demonstrate it, but you can just not be lazy and see it for yourself.

Defining monster is a big lie.Have you ever watched Mythos's gameplay video? It's 3D, very dark game.It looks perfect and you can seperate unique monsters easily. Also it has light radius too in 3D.So defining mosters is a big liea as i said before.
Lie? When you say Blizzard is telling lies, that's just something beyond which I can make a sensible argument against. Mythos looks horrible. It's a more childish game than a Disney fairytale, and those dark dungeons look horrible. You can't really identify things for shit. As I said, the only reason why D2 used pastel colors to represent some monsters is to make them easier to recognize when you are attacked in swarms (did you see swarms attacking in Mythos gameplay videos?) - and pulling of something like that in a realistic 3D environment would look retarded. Just think about it. D2 had a gritty realistic look, but there were so many symbolic things like color swapping tricks etc which made monsters look like they are extroterestrials.

So they removed charms, runewords, horadric cube because they are only in D2. Okay. What about health and mana leeching? They were used in both original Diablo and Diablo II...
The didn't 'remove' charms, runewords and horadric cube. They didn't take Diablo 2 and start modding it - they started from scratch, and decided what to PUT in, and not taking every single detail from D2 and decide what to take OUT. There's a difference. Your argument is just as good as someone saying that D2 is not a true sequel because it 'took out' spell scrolls and books, and made the durability system for carebears because your items no longer dissapear when their durability wears out completely. With those things in mind, D3 retains more things from D2 than D2 did from D1. And so what about mana and health leaching? They weren't there because they're cool. They were there to improve the gameplay - since you do not know how D3 gameplay is going to be like - it's pointless to brand certain things as a loss because they might not have brought anything good in the first place. If Blizzard didn't include it, there was a good reason for that. If they do happen to include it (since it's not final) then there will be a really good reason to include it. That's how things work.
This discussion is going nowhere.I decided to wait blizzcon and see what happens.Maybe you're right about some points for gameplay. But my opinion about art style, armor looking and non-randomized outdoors won't change.
Why? Because only you know what's the best thing in the world, and nothing other than 20/20 skill system will ever come close to that? Well get your head out of your ass mister.
Um, wut?
I think my quote explained the situation very well, tyvm.
Either state your opinion or shove it. If you want to quote me next time, finish your thought, like 'I stopped reading there because I'm an illiterate retard' or something like 'I stopped reading there because you said Diablo 1 didn't have skilltrees and I am a retard who didn't know that', or 'I stopped reading there because Blizzard is incompetent to pull off a good skill system'. Whichever the reason, either say something worthwhile, or don't quote me at all.
I don't want to hear another thing about respecs in D3. In Diablo 2 you could recreate your character and get it to level 85 and make a fresh build in ONE SINGLE DAY. So practically D2 had free respecs. If D3 doesn't have some bullshit like rushing and power-leveling - a normal and limited respec system is a must.
@michoco
I would not write on this thread again but you made me write again.
1.Respeccing will be good.I'm not opposed to that.
2.I didn't say they got rid of the torture factor.I said i haven't seen anything like that in the gameplay video and screenshots so far. This is a true firm statement. For siege breaker's decapitate, it's character releated thing and longs 3 seconds in a 20-min video.I was talkin about environmental gore.
If blizz's sure they want to go with mature rate then it can be only one thing...
Dime will get angry but i think they are trying to make people get used to the idea of lighter diablo.Cuz they've already started to make an MMO diablo - rated teen IMO.
What? Blizzard already says they are aiming for an M rated game, but even if it's not, you should really reconsider yourself if playing a T rated game represents a threat to your manliness.
They are making a game as the please to make it, having M rating in mind but they don't make decisions in regard to the rating. It's up to ESRB to say their final word on that.
P.S. Who says MMO games are rated Teen? Who says they are making an MMO? It's unannounced - it can be anything.
teen MMO would affect the core very deeply; we (diablofans) are waiting for a true diablo experience, why would they frustrate us by changing that while they have WoW to satisfy the teen MMO audience ? the next gen MMO can very well be simply WoW 2 (no clue though, so IMO).
Well your entire hypothesis relies on the fact that MMO = Teen, which is absurd. For example, AoC is an M rated MMO. Why do you think Diablo would move away from the image and change that? They repeated several times that Diablo = M, end of story.
The problem is that people have this nasty prejudice that all MMOs = WoW. If Diablo ever recieved an MMO entry, it would be an M-rated MMO with isometric perspective. Those exist, you know?
Another thing. What 'diablofans' is waiting for is irrelevant to the whole thing - Diablo fans are looking forward to seeing a sequel to complete the trilogy atm. (some more, some less). If there was a Diablo-based MMO, that would be a completely different franchise, and you are not even expected to be interested in it. WoW was placed in the Warcraft universe, but it's a completely separate franchise from the three Warcraft games - the RTS players were not expected to shift to an MMORPG - it constructed a separate fanbase from a broader audience. If they ever make a Diablo MMO game, and for some reason you have a phobia or a problem with MMOs, just look the other way on the release date - I don't see why would you be concerned about Blizzard's MMOs or RTS'.
But I think they carefuly studied the market before announcing the game and it seems for now the plan is to stick with the classic model (=buy the box, play for free).
LETS STOP FIGTHING!!!!! LETS HUG EACH OTHER AND CELEBRATE WITH SOME BEER AND MUNCHIES!!!!!!i1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this idea. But for it to work there needs to be more quests or parts of the story that require you to pass through the dungeons, otherwise - like in D2 - you will most likely avoid them. The results could be a stale environment, but it really depends on the SIZE of the environment. Anyways it looks like they will be putting a new twist on chests as well, so it's my guess that the dungeons will be the new thing for mf runs.

I hope DIII will contain these story cycles (maybe not same but alike) and story releated elements.
