this remix and rehash of other classes and skills is not the diablo way?
at what point where those skilled assigned to other classes?
Diablo never mixed class skills among the other classes.
was Bone spirit in Diablo I? that does not sound right.
if i see a Ranger that has mainly skills from Amazon and Sorceress skills that is what i call a remix and rehash of existing classes.
i expect a Ranger might for example have melee skills with daggers and light swords, and a nature summon as a familiar pet (giant wolf, growling bear, soaring eagle), and survival skills including resistance of the elements, increase life, battle prowess.
battle prowess being a skill that grants increased defense and an automatic blink out-of-danger if there is a mortal strike (wound that can kill the player).
this is the kind of NEW CONCEPT and NEW CLASS expectation i have from Blizzard in Diablo 3.
i actually dont care if they completely change all the skill trees and start from scratch... i dont want any more skills that were used in d2. only ww is acceptable.
the spellcaster in Diablo I was called Mage if i remember correctly.
My copy of Diablo I is overseas at the moment.
Can someone who still has an actual copy verify the class name?
whirlwind is a staple skill of current ladder builds. i wouldn't mind seeing other skills increased in effectiveness so other skillsets will have more play.
it would be nice if barbarians can specialize in more than one weapon.
Good question... in Diablo 2 it didn't matter, but since he's part of the storyline of Diablo 3...
My guess is that they won't mention his name. Just like in Final Fantasy X. You get to name Tidus so they never mention his name... and in Final Fantasy X-2, they refer to him as "him".

none of what you said is NEW
thanks for trying though

death coil (wc2), but you play WoW obviously so you know what that is
and a nature summon as a familiar pet (giant wolf, growling bear, soaring eagle)
Beastmaster, wc3 (except the wolf was a boar)
an automatic blink out-of-danger if there is a mortal strike
sorry but I don't want kids to get an automatic life saver, and as far as blinking goes, been done

the amazon and assassin have these things, so LOL
if you keep adding to your original post instead of replying to me, how the hell can i have any response to you?
first - i only play Diablo 2 (without expansion). i don't have any other games installed. they take a lot of hard drive space and don't even compare with Diablo 2.
regarding your complaint of the ranger summonables.
it does match the concept of a ranger.
if you don't like them there are other alternatives: pythons, elephants, and giraffes.
would that make it better in your eyes?
regarding battle prowess:
you don't kids getting automatic life savers.
some players would appreciate that. you don't need to play the class if it's that big a problem for you.
regarding similiarity of skills:
ask Blizzard to make the class. it's not my job.
i suggested a concept class as an example.
Wilson says that there will be no more returning classes in the initial release, but he also stated in another interview that expansions would be the best place to bring back returning characters.
In regards to similarities between the necromancer and Witchdoctor: I would rather play a new class with similar skills to an old class than, an old class with skills that are almost exactly the same skills as before (and if the Necro was nearly perfect I'm sure they would not want to try to change the skills too much). We have not seen all of the witchdoctors skills they may not be too similar to the Necromancers, but Necromancers were great, especially after reading the Diablo books. (But I have always enjoyed a melee character over summoners/casters, so I am not as worried as some may be).
All of the remaining classes may not be out for good, a few may return in an expansion if they are not too similar to the classes included in the initial release.
I am just speculating based on the information we have been given so far.
I can't wait for Blizzcon when we get a substantial amount of new information including a new class.

he said only the necro has the best chance of coming back with the release of the expansion.
Really? If so, oh well. That means even more new classes to play with. I remember him stating that expansions would be the best place to bring back old characters, not just the necromancer, but I could be wrong. If you could provide a link to the article he talked about this in it may help others out. It's all just useless speculation anyway, I should be doing something productive not browsing D3 forums.

for example:
spellcasters are of the Vizjerei order.
that is Diablo tradition. the character name is up to the player.
that i expect will stay, even with barbarian class returning.

if i were to take the time to create a NEW CLASS, why would i share that with any of you at this point?
it does take a lot of time and research to do so.
a NEW CONCEPT is what i suggested. ask Blizzard to make the new class.
that is their job - why should i do it for them?
